Ping pong, also referred to as table tennis may be some years off. After all, it is an Olympic sport - which is the case for sand volleyball, which is very, very popular.

Nicholls has 15 and SLU has 16 presently. Would be nice if some of you guys learned how to count and understood the intricacies of track and field. : They have nothing to worry about with numbers, because with the SLC adding sand volleyball, that'll keep'em in check.

UNLV - your counting skills are reminiscent of a joint math class between Texas State-San Marcos and Lamar. DickVitale - you must be in the same math class... ;D Did you forget that track and field counts twice (indoor and outdoor)...? T&F itself is six sports if you have men's and women's (MXC, WXC, MITF, WITF, MOTF and WOTF). Must have since I count Lamar with 16 sports. How many times do we need to go through this on this board? Someone trying to stir the pot? SHSU has 17 sports when we add bowling... The rules are... 14 sports for Div I non-football schools 16 sports for Div I football schools And the Sun Belt rule question - 15 CONFERENCE sports. ALSO - look for the Southland to add SAND VOLLEYBALL. It will count as it's own sport and will be to volleyball what XC is to track and field.

I am sure they will - but there is a price on premium tickets. LU needs to increase revenue - what school doesn't?

Probably no Lamar either. Considering you guys were the bottom feeders and the league would have wanted to move to a higher level, it would have been the TAAC, American South or Gulf Star for Lamar!

Probably was, because the split had just occurred and the SLC was one of the few to stay behind at first.

Yes. There are some make-up tennis matches happening in Beaumont featuring A&M-CC, SLU and Nicholls. Make-up matches (which are required if they impact standings) tend to happen at neutral sites midway between to help schools with budget/travel issues.

The new rules in baseball...? More talent all throughout the SLC, better facilities and coaches in the league? Out of conference schedule not built to prepare for SLC play? UTSA always seems to have a tough program. Not sure how that doubleheader yesterday impacted both teams.

According to SB 2146, which is moving along in the Texas Legislature without any problems, Lamar's allocation from the state will be cut nearly $3M. Any idea why the main campus of LU is getting a cut? All the other Lamar campuses are getting a boost, though slightly at that. In comparison, TXST and SHSU are up nearly $2M, while SFA is up $1.3M. SHSU got a bad pitching effort the opening day, which is why they fell behind so early in the first game of the series. Kats had much better performances in the field, at the plate and on the mound over the next two days. Got to have three things - pitching, batting and defense. It's like football, just more "Any Given Day" as even the best pitcher can lay an egg and really stink it up. Just like any hitter, can go into a slump or get really, really hot.
