Russia thinks we are stupid because we don't have secure borders. Try entering Russia illegally. Arrested and deported??????  Yes, they probably are laughing.

I try my best to base my opinions on facts, not on other people’s opinions.

Simply don't pay it. Sue the ACLU for violating their first amendment rights. Tie it up in the courts till it gets to the SCOTUS where we have a majority conservative bench that honors the Constitution.

My situation is not personal. 799,999 Federal employees share my same fate. Pitty is not at word Mr. SETX Staff Leader. So there is no pitty to gain. Being Republican or Democrat does not embellish a situation. I only ask for your prayers. Not for me, but those who are less fortunate than you. Thank you for being a representative of this board. I hate hearing people say keep Government Shut down. The House and Senate continue to receive their pay.  My President cannot agree to terms because it would make him look bad.  Well Sugar, Honey, Ice, Tea. The tweets make him look bad.  The House and Senate should not receive pay until they have a bipartisan agreement signed by the President. 

I agree. I was disappointed when the White House was lit up in rainbow colors. Try explaining to your young ones what is allowed and what is excepted in today's society is mind boggling. My Christian values are what is most important to me and my family.

In hindsight I think there were a few GOP candidates that would have our country as whole in a better place. However, the poor performance of the dems and GOP under Obama are both responsible for Trump being elected.

Law Man is right about one thing, Triump isn't a Dem or Repub, but that was part of his appeal. 
But I'll admit he goes "A Bridge to Far" sometimes.

Christmas time I went all out for my kids. Maxed out a few cards in the process. Anyway life goes on. I will not be taken any gifts back. I am thankful all other agency's are not effected.

Agree!  Trump still better to vote for than democrats.  I hope the dims stop stalling on the wall.  It's funny that you can watch videos from Clinton's days in the White House of prominent Dims bashing illegals and calling for tighter security at the border.  What happened?  Trump happened!

Question for Liberals or Conservatives.  Trump campaigned for office saying that Mexico would pay for a border wall.  He said it again as POTUS when he had a back-and-forth argument with the outgoing Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and Mexican President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrado.  Now, President Trump has shut down the United States government because he wants Congress to fund $5B for the border wall.  If Mexico was going to pay for the wall, then why is President Trump asking Congress for $5B to fund construction of the wall?

He would be the first to tell you who to blame this nonsense on.  He wants a secure border like many do.  It’s actually one of the few jobs the fed gov should take care of according to the Constitution.

General Mattis was one of the very few Generals to be Sec of Defense.  A fact I find extremely strange.  One in four did not serve in the military - stranger still.  But I agree, fill it quickly, with a Military General.

Driver’s license needed to drive lawfully? Yes. 
ID of any kind when not driving or some other activity that requires a license like fishing or hunting? No. 
People lined up and jailed for no ID? Not credible. Like I often read, if that was true, there is more to the story. Like maybe an officer(s) was charging someone with a minor offense but since no ID to confirm who to give a citation to, the person(s) was arrested in lieu of a citation. 
Neither Texas law nor federal law requires the carrying of an ID however it is lawful in Texas to arrest for anything without a warrant except for speeding, open container or texting... if the person agrees to sign a citation. 
If someone was arrested it was likely for some criminal charge and not failure to possess an ID.
