Darth is hitting all the points on what I’m trying express… Don’t recall to many straight 2 way starters and Never coming off the field.. but there is some kids that could be plugged in when we need a big stop/extra pass rush to offensive side with short yardage need that 1-3 yards, extra blocker on the line (jumbo package) and etc.. these are pure examples but things that need to be addressed.
I agree. If you have special players. Let them play where it helps the team when needed.

Even the situational use is more than we did under the last coach. Reid Richard barely came off the field in the playoffs during the 2023 season. And, when there is situational use, it’s clear the player has been trained well even in their temporary role.
That is true, but you will not see a two way starter under Joseph. Reid Richard played at most 10 offensive snaps a game in 2023.

I highly doubt that… varsity has the weapons. There is some out of position, and not being utilized. Nederland is to small in numbers for kids to specialize on one side of the ball. Time to mix some kids up on both sides of the ball… we are seeing what faircloth did at PNG years ago and kids specialize on one side of the ball. Will never work in Nederland or PNG. Play the best 11… Neumann did it And his success speaks volumes
Just to clarify. PNG has never played kids both ways under Joseph. You might see a situational play but once you hit 9th grade you are either offense or defense. You will not find a kid in the program playing both ways as starters.

Looks like sub varsity got the sweep on LaPorte.

No, it's part of the curriculum. And let's drop the narrative that sports it's a privilege. If you're good enough you're going to play. Privilege is when you get something you haven't earned. Throw in the fact that kids get scholarships and NIL for athletics, if a parent wants to move to put their kid in a better program so they can get more exposure, the old school should not have any say so in them playing immediately. It's the parents call. The UIL is dead wrong on this. If my son was still playing and a coach tried to stop him from sitting up for his new school, I would have sued. Look at what happened to the NCAA. It's coming for the UIL.
Way wrong. The school is responsible for providing an education. Not to monopolize on sports and NIL. Also, as a taxpayer I am not going to pay for your kid to come in and take advantage of what was built within the community. If your kid is that good, send them to IMG or a private school known for sports.

I agree. My daughter wanted to tryout to be a Flame and was initially told yes, but then told no cause during the tryouts, she wasn't a student of the district. I feel like they should of allowed her to tryout and given me a deadline to have her enrolled. The issue was/is if she was to make it and end up not transferring, that was a spot a district student could have had. She took it like a champ and will tryout for next year, which is in January
I am not sure if this is a serious post or satire.

Idk
Just a shame that a good kid has been dragged around so much by his own city. Between grown ass men making fake Facebook profiles to put him down, people on here behind a keyboard talking trash and then the sarcastic posts. Doesn't make any sense. I am not from Nederland nor related to the young man but you would think people would have more to contribute if they are going to post besides some bs.

It was a great game to be at. I am PNG all the way but had to stand and clap for Fletcher. He hit a rocket out of the park.

No, Genius. The kid that got ejected shouldn’t have been there. The kid that he hit shouldn’t have fought back… but he chose to defend himself. No worries, can’t blame him… but he should be punished for retaliating.
The rest of the team and their mamas jumping in? Wrong on every level, and this punishment is well deserved. One kid punching another doesn’t justify the whole team running into the stands swinging. At least not among civilized people.
Stupid take about the kid fighting back. Agree with you on the parents and other students.

Is it possible that the UIL believed that HD (and its fans) bore the majority of the blame for the rumble/brawl/donnybrook?
Because honestly, I do.
Was there a release by the UIL over the discipline? I haven’t seen it.
How can you feel that way? If the ejected kid leaves none of this happens. How is he allowed to come back in, sit behind the HD bench, then attack the HD kid? You want to place blame on HD for defending themselves?
You also one of those that believes if someone breaks into your home you have no right to defend yourself and should jump out of a window to get away?

Not an issue at PN-G. Football numbers are always high. This year there will be roughly 75 kids trying out for baseball to fill 3 teams. 9th grade football this year had roughly 80 kids playing.

I like what happened to that WR from N Houston that tried to transfer into Tomball with his AAU best friend the QB, “because his old school was unsafe,” except all of his siblings were left back in the unsafe school. He ended up forgoing this senior season on the field, then played at TAMU.
That’s what happens when the system works like it should.
What ever happened to that kid?
Been arrested multiple times. Little family violence, assault, and theft. No education and hoping someone will take a 4th or 5th chance on him.

You’re so misinformed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And my point still remains you have no clue what these kids are doing once they leave SOC or any of these other schools.
North Shore - 577 in the state out of 1,555
SOC - 1,258 out of 1,555.
You know which schools are worse than SOC? Border schools where most of the kids are still learning English.
You don't have a point. Just an agenda.

Just a dumb statement…this past weekend I just attended my former player’s graduation (Shadrach Banks) who graduated from TCU. A kid who was homeless in HS & is the first person in his family to graduate. He used football as a way out…also there was a few other kids who attended NS that graduated this weekend as well. You have no clue what majority of kids are doing once they’re done playing football. Again y’all be so misinformed.
Stop complaining about open enrollment & tell the school district you root for to change their policies…
I didn't say all. I was speaking about SOC. North Shore is nothing like SOC. North Shore is a much better school district for education. SOC is factually one of the worst educational schools in Texas. One of the poorest schools in Texas. But hey, great football team with plenty of swag and gear.
And talk about a dumb statement? Open up all schools to open enrollment? So kids in Texas will end up with what amounts to an 8th grade education when they do graduate? Yeah that makes sense.

A totally different culture that you probably don't understand...some kids only way out is athletics not education my brother. So parents are going to increase their kids chances by putting them in the best position to succeed athletically.
I understand. I also understand a majority of these kids will not do anything once they get to college beyond play football and will be right back in the crap once football is done with no education.
Bottom line for me is I have ZERO issue with what Coach Todd and SOC are doing. If it gets a kid out of a bad situation and they make it, I applaud that. I just think they should be playing in a division that matches their ability to bring in kids from all over the state.
And if DISD / SOC invested half the amount of energy they do into all the non football kids educations it would be less of an issue.

I know this thread has been derailed but still good discussion.
Last week vs LaPorte... #9 Ruffin was playing both ways, LB and RB. On defense he was taking a beating from LT Wolford when he wasn't making plays. By the 4th Quarter he spent a lot of time on the sidelines looking worn down.
