1.
BrenhamFan may be able to give some insight. They played Huntsville in Week 0 and beat them 28-2. Some of the Livingston fans may be able to give you a scouting report as they also played Huntsville, beating them 40-21.
I saw both of those scores, so i have a little to derive from. I am assuming they are having trouble stopping the run, as i look through the games every team with the exception of Summer Creek had average to above average success on the ground against them.  They seem to have rebounded from the bad start though, so its tough to say i guess. I look forward to the game, Its Homecoming for us...and the Boys want a District title....badly.  They have looked really good in the execution department over the last 4 weeks defensively...and the offense has finally picked up and coming into form.  I guess we will see what happens, this is an old rivalry with Huntsville...a game that has usually been pretty close, but Humble has rarely come on top of..
 2. Humble squares off with them this week, and i really have no idea what to expect from them.  They struggled out the gate, but they did do better then i thought they would against Brenham. Humble struggled out of the gate as well, we didn't have a QB until the dobie game.  And our offense was constantly sputtering up until the caney creek game when it seemed as if our offensive line just started executing better and our starting QB settled down. our defense is pretty good, id say in the top 5 in the area easily. Top 25 in the state.  Physical, fast, and execute pretty well.  Our biggest strength is our Defensive line, who features one of the top DT prospects in Paul Boyette (who along with Brown, and Magee is being evaluated by Texas). Im looking forward to this match up, but would love to hear what the Hornets have to offer.
 3. Channelview just doesnt have all the pieces, but they really aren't as bad as their record indicates.  That RB is solid, and they play hard.  They are just sloppy.
 4.
What is a well known fact is that Humble was greatful to get out of the district with Westbrook.
yes...because the leading the series was just to hard for us to handle.  We have won plenty of games in BMT with westbrook and pam both.  But it was always noted that "anything possible, we are playing in BMT" Trust me, we would much rather be in 21-5a then in 18-4a.  Westbrook in the final year we played them was a close and hard fought battle that Westbrook won, but note we were among very few teams that held your beloved Christine Michaels to minimal yardage EVERY time we met.  We also Demolished that Westbrook team that featured Chassion at QB...going into the 4th quarter we led 42-16......yall rallied to no avail against our 2nd squad for a final of 49-32. Save me the "chest" thumping....We have given you your fair share of thrashings.
 5. its a pretty well known fact that the BMT chapter is the worst. i can't tell you how many times we (Humble) has traveled down to BMT, and gotten some just horrendous calls.
 6.
My name is Justin Aaron Kelm I am  a graduate of Crosby High School and  am a journalist and statistician. I write stories for the Crosby Cougars. I do independent stats as well. By: Justin Aaron Kelm The Coogs came into Stall Worth Stadium seeking its first win of the year as they took on new District 19-4A running mate; the Baytown Lee Ganders. These Coogs were tired of there losing ways and were prepared to do anything by all means to ruin the Ganders night. The game kicked off with a bang and the Coogs defense didn’t hold giving up the nights first points on a 4 yard run by Gander running back Josh Brooks, but all was not lost. The point after attempt was no good and the score was now 6-0 in favor of Baytown Lee with 6:02 left in the 1st quarter. This game was different as the Coogs responded quickly to the Ganders defense, running back Jacoby Scott motored down the field and scored on a 2 yard rush, kicker Sam Fowler attempted the extra point but it was no good. This tied the game at 6 with 5:29 left in the 1st. The Coogs kicked off the ball after scoring on the first drive and neither team could score as both defensive units held each other in check. Jacoby Scott kept the Coogs offensive running as he stormed down the field and scored on a two yard scamper for his second score of the night giving the Coogs a small lead, 13-6 over the Ganders after Coogs kicker Sam Fowler connected on the extra point quarter came to a close. Just as the 2nd quarter came to a close, running back Jake ‘Peppe” Lafluer scored on a 15-yard run. The Coogs took a lead into the half 20-6; this was the Coogs first lead into half in the 2010 season. The 3rd quarter begun and the Coogs defense totally dominated the Ganders, resulting in a punt by the Ganders. The Coogs got the ball back and the man of the night Jacoby Scott had another 10 yard scamper to the end zone, totaling his scoring on the night to three rushing touchdowns, Fowler connected on the extra point and increased the lead to 27-6 in favor of the Coogs with 7:14 left in the 3rd Quarter.  The Coogs kicked off the ball to the Ganders and the defense couldn’t contain them. Ganders Quarterback Malcolm Ruben found Wideout Keith Johnson on an 8 yard jack. The Ganders made the score closer as (Emmanuel Torres kick), 04:28, 3rd was good, making the score 20-13. Feeling like the score was getting to close senior quarterback Dominic Merka got his name on the board as he found Wideout Willie Hebert on a 60 yard bomb. The score gave the Coogs a marginal lead as the Fowler kick was no good making the score 33-13 with 4:14 left in the 3rd. The Coogs defensive unit came back out on the field and thought they could stop the Gander Offensive unit quarterback Malcolm Ruben ran the ball 47 yards and down the Coogs throats, the (Emmanuel Torres kick was good), 00:48, 3rd, making the score33-20. The 4th quarter kicked off and Merka found Senior Wideout Forrest Tyler on a 19 yard pass making the score 39-20 as the Coogs got greedy and went for it on a two point conversion and failed with 8:15 left in the 4th quarter. The Coogs defense held out during the rest of the 4th quarter but then gave up its final points on the night on a Keith Johnson 2-yard run (Emmanuel Torres kick was good), 03:56 left in the 4th, making it 39-27 with little time left in the game. The Coogs offensive ran the ball down and the defensive units held the Ganders to the final whistle.  The Coogs lead to Jacoby Scott’s 171 rushing yards and three touchdowns helped give the Crosby football team its first win of the season Friday night, and spoiled Lee’s homecoming at Stall Worth Stadium. The Cougars ran away with a 39-27 win over the Ganders in the District 19-4A opener for both teams. Crosby now holds an overall record of 1-3 while Lee is 0-4. Lee actually had a slight advantage in first downs over Crosby, 22-18, and a huge advantage in total snaps, 72 for Lee and 47 for Crosby. But the Cougars, who out gained Lee with 415 total yards to 388 for the Ganders, had plenty of big plays. Crosby quarterback Dominic Merka completed 8 of 16 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns. The Cougars (1-3, 1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against North Forest (Houston, TX). The Bulldogs come into District 19 4A challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, North Forest was knocked off by Goose Creek Memorial 28-12, in a league challenge.
You have been hammered pretty severely for your use of the English language, so ill step off that for second and try to provide you with a little tip.  No one wants to read a play by play of the games when reading a write up.  As a writer, you should probably do a little better job focusing on the emotion of the game itself.  Anyone, and I mean anyone can write a play by play report of a game.  It takes a special journalist and writer to capture the moment and place them into words.  You are young, and you’ll be fine.  Take the criticism with an open mind, and learn from it.  If you can’t do that, then you are probably not going to make it as a journalist. keep your head up kid.
 7. Im not sure if it was this board, or another.  But i said that if Dayton didn't play flawless football, that Ike would most certainly win this game.  I ended up attending (Date night was a football game...My wife is awesome.) and noticed that in the third quarter the broncos were getting fatigued and worn down by a very fast and up-tempo Ike offense. I felt that a fumble pron Dayton offense is 7-14pts less of a team then Ike.    That being said, i don't think either team is very good.  Ike is athletic, and will do what they did to Dayton to most teams that are running multiple players two ways or lack the athletes to line up against them.  You better be very fine-tuned on your execution, because one breakdown against those sort of athletes means a score. Daytons offense is pitiful, and to my surprise pretty predictable.  Those WR screens were getting really old, and to be honest Ike figured it out in the second half.  If you are going to run those screens, you better run different variations.  on top of it all, you wont find a better player then James Jones.  IMHO, he is a lot better then Diggs.
 8.
I'm leaving Brenham at 2, so I dont get caught in Houston traffic.  What is there to do in Dayton to kill time, untill the game?  Never been to Dayton before, so I need some suggestions...  Anybody?
I was going to go, but i got date night with the wife. My brother-in law will there tonight though....and hell probably get there at 5pm and hunt for a resturant to eat at.
 9.
Any prediction? i will say LP37-HA 13. also its LP Homecoming, so i reallyhope thy win this one!
Going to go with LP here  28-14.  Close for a half, Atascocita gets worn down and the defense figures out Elijah Merchant. Honestly, they are very lack luster.  Talented, but they just don't have an offense...or much of a defense for that matter. Too bad we couldn't of stayed 5a, i would of liked to kick them around a bit.
 10.
I will have the highlight video posted tomorrow. Couldn't get everything done today. I will post all the 1st half Bronco defensive plays, it was very impressive, until... Lots of teams are off next week, hopefully they will show up in Dayton and watch the Broncos battle IKE.
ill be there
 11. so you're telling me that Huntsville is not very good? This doesn't bode well for Humble hope of sharpening its edges against decent competition. after willis has started the season 1-2, and Huntsville has failed to score...it looks bleak for 18-4a.  That leaves K-Park...Which is actually pretty good. this sucks.
 12.
How did Sterling lose a point?
I had a minor brain fart, and forgot that they scored on a 2pt conversion to Gibson.  So, it was 42-14. Honestly, i am kind of glad that they got some points on the bored.  It was a very sad sight to see them get gobbled up on every play.  Sterling generally isn't very good, but i have to admit i was expecting more with the level of talent.  But the offense is predictable, and against equal or better athletes...they can't do much
 13. Crosby just looks bad. You don't get dominated three weeks in a row, and have any hope of doing anything special this year.  Take it from someone who watched Humble go 3-7 last year with capable talent.  Sometimes, teams don't come together like they should.
 14. If Fumbles persist, Ike will win by 14+ You can't make mistakes against Ike, if you do they will beat you.   They are just way to athletic on the defensive side of the ball to not take advantage with the turf monster comes knocking. So if they limit the Fumbles to 1-2, Dayton Beats Ike 35-28 If Dayton Fumbles 3-6 times, Ike beats Dayton 45-28.  It happens quickly, and in my personal opinion...James Jones is about 10 times more lethal then digs, kid can move the ball through the air if he needs to.   This is a much harder task for Dayton then Angleton.   Who i am sold is not the team of yester-year.   Angleton is in the top 20 in the region, but doesn't crack my top 15.
 15.
Good win for Liberty. They needed it badly.  The defense was much improved, but tired during second half.  Offense shows alot of potential.  Alot of sophomores playing key positions and doing a good job !!!  Congrats to Coach Deel and the Liberty Panthers.
Porter has no seniors correct?
 16.
THe score shouldn't have been that close. Sterling is garbage. Humble should have hung 50 on the Rangers.
You have to understand that unlike most teams right now, we still don't have our QB situation settled (although next week, i am sure that Kyle Washington will be the starter).  We rotated QB's every quarter. 1st Quarter- Kyle Washington- Points Scored  14. 2nd Quarter- Marcus Ray- Points Scored 7pts 3rd Quarter- Marcus Ray- Points Scored 7pts 4th Quarter- Kyle Washington- Pointes Scored- 14 He just manages the offense better, no mistakes on reads.  No mistakes on handoffs.  No interceptions.  Offense is still rusty, but by the time we roll around to district we should have all the kinks worked out.  all the points scored by Sterling were against a mixture of starters and 2nd string guys, most of our 2nd string guys were green to the friday night lights.  But after the settled down they managed to stop Sterlings 1st string group from moving the ball.  i personally feel that the Humble coaching staff should of waited for another TD before we put in our 2nd string....28-0 against those sort of athletes is kind of shocking to kids who have never played varsity before.  But i was proud of how they handled it, and helped put 2 more scores on the board. We need work, but we are still on a path to be a very powerful team.
 17.
Left with 3 mins left and it was 35-14 Humble. Humble looked like they lost interest in the 2nd half.
Bingo.  Defensively, Humble dominated the game.  Near the 2nd half, you could tell the players were ready to move on to next week.  This is something the coach has to address, no half arse play.  All out or go home. Offensively, Humble made some coaching mistakes. 1. rotating QB's every other quarter, when it was obvious #1 Kyle washington knew how to drive the sports car a little better.  #7 Marcus Ray just didn't manage the game very well, and the offense just wasn't feeling him.  2. We have some kids that are extremely athletic that can really run, and rather run before they actually catch the ball.  #6 Jaylan Zallicoffer is a beast, WHEN he gets the ball in his hands.  But he has a tendency to reach up for the ball and go before he has it secured.  #9 Kyle Tucker is probably our most lethal weapon on offense, capable of taking it to the house on any given play.  he is literally a shoe-lace away from breaking it away.  However, he has problems with his route running and timing.  He gets the ball to early or too late. 3. Offensive-line- A lot better then last weeks fiasco of missing 3 starters, but you can tell that the rust is still very solidly packed on this unit.  Pulling to shallow, or just forgetting to pull. All in all nothing some film and a hard weeks of practice won't fix. Defensively i was pleased in the first half, the 2nd half we started putting in subs (about 4 minutes into the 2nd half, at LB and DE)...had some mental mistakes from the "green" guys that led to some major yardage.  But im glad we through in the back ups, because it allows them to build the strength of the bench. Player of the game defensively- either #2 Brison Burris , #10 Cliff Thomas, or my personal Favorite #50 Paul Boyette. Final Score: 42-14.  And the game was actually not even as close as it looks.  Being 21-0 in the half, just gives you some perspective that this young but talented team has to learn to finish what they start.  They most definitely got bored.  Come playoff time, we will be a force.
 18.
They have that stud freshman Taylor Martinez, it may be tough for Green to even see the field.
martinez is a stud, and i have to agree.... Cody may never see the field as a starter with TM there.
 19.

I was suprised by the Huntsville score and stats. Now i just need Humble to beat the living snot out of Channelview, but its raining...and we are playing there...and we are a 70-30 pass to run team....Im expecting a 14-0, 21-7 victory For Humble if this rain continues.
Channelview ( my alma mater ) is freakin' horrible.  Wildcats by 30.
I watched them play Kingwood Park, and they really aren't that bad.  Their defense is horrendous, but they have playmakers in spots that can put them on the scoreboard in a hurry. If we can establish a run early, i think its possible we win by 30.  but if it continues to rain like this, on a natural grass surface (and Humble is a team that hasn't played on a grass surface since 2007) we will struggle to move the ball efficently.  Humble has moved away from a run heavy look and embraces more of the isolating our best athletes to make plays.  if we can't use our speed, we won't score much.  Our running back is pretty good, but more of a work horse then a take it to the house type back.  So i wouldn't be suprised to see us go into a clock eating frenzy in attempt to keep the ball out of Justin Hicks hands.  Although, our defense is probably going to hold Channelview to less then 100 yards (hoping)
 20. I was suprised by the Huntsville score and stats. Now i just need Humble to beat the living snot out of Channelview, but its raining...and we are playing there...and we are a 70-30 pass to run team....Im expecting a 14-0, 21-7 victory For Humble if this rain continues.
 21.
I don't know Hum... I'd be extremely surprised if Diggs doesn't go for at least 150 yards rushing. They might stop him for less than 3 yards on 20 of the carries. It's those other 4 or 5 carries where he finds a crease.
You know, its always a possiblity.  But i tend to find that good defenses pretty much obliterate one deminsonal teams. I used Humble as an example when going up against RS.  Ive seen diggs and RS both, and RS was a far superior athlete.
 22.
Injuries usually hurt all teams.  You lose your stud and the wins usually slow down or stop.  The timing of the injury didn't help matters any.  You get a new coach in, you lose your starting quarterback in the 2nd scrimmage, then you play the opening game.  When was the last time you guys won a State championship?  Did you win it last year?  It's only the first game of the year.  Give the new man a break!!!
A. Injuries happen, and its part of the sport. B. New coaches should be hired because they have showen themselves to be worthy of the job, tell me how many winning seasons has Kingwoods offense had this decade?  4.... over the last 6 years (The number of years the New HC at cleveland was at KW i believe) 2.  leading rushing attack in last couple of years is not an accomplishment when everyone is passing, and no defense is being played. C. Stop deflecting.  Who cares if we haven't won a state championship, pretty sure we would wipe the floor with Cleveland.  Don't maket his about us, this is about Cleveland. D. No break, expectations is to win REGARDLESS.  That is what great programs should expect.  Humble went 3-7 last year with 5 starters out all year, 6 sophomores on defense, and no QB....We still expected more then 3-7. Losing to Caney Creek, a team that recorded not a single win last season.  wow. Not the cleveland i use to watch.
 23.
Wow thats a wild prediction. Ill remember that one. 50 to 14 Dayton over Angleton
ive completely lost respect for Angelton after watching them scrimmage Lee, and seeing my prediction of a blow out (Made amongst my friends) by Friendswood. Angelton suffers from a defective defensive startagy that lends itself to believe they are so superior athletically that they can just lineup and take you on. Angleton is small, fast, and prone to mental lapses. Offensively they are a one trick pony, that will be held to minimal yardage by a good to great defense. Angleton 2010 reminds me of Cy-Ridge 08'....except smaller and more athletic across the board.  three teams with good to great defenses held Russel Shepard to less then 100 yards. it really wouldn't suprise me to see Angelton's Diggs with less then 100 yards.
