1. I agree with your assessment. They eat a lot of clock, but some of that was poor d-line play from Humble. It took them 9 minutes to score in the first quarter. And about 6-7 minute possessions after that. Humble made a defensive personnel change that pretty much made what splendora was doing irrelevant. Moved OL J.Castillo to defensive line.... boy do I think this kid plays the wrong position. I never felt like we were going to lose the game. Despite some really bad mistakes on getting plays in and looking disoriented the entire night. I honestly don't know how Dayton lost this game. Splendora beats kpark and caney creek, buts it's hard to see how they beat anyone that can score quickly
 2. NC by 3-4 scores. Humble would have beaten Splendora by 2 TDs to close the game had it not been for some really bad play calling in the closing 2 minutes. It was a game I felt we could have won by 3 TDs. Humble lacks the diversity of the ways we can score and offensive balance that NC has. Yet we really had no problem moving the ball. NC gets into the 40's. I'll give splendora 21pts
 3. I get that about there size, however I still don't know how this translates when we are challenged by better teams. How good or bad is Tompkins? What was clear is that they were too slow up front on both sides. We held them to something like 100 yards all night. I saw a lot liked though . Kids played hard, even when they blew it on those fumbles. Defense looks great up front, and that was an area of concern for me. Our QB situation is infinitely better than last year, despite him have a sort of rough game, But he made reads and decisions that we didn't see last year. Offense is revamped to play to our strengths. And we have solid weapons to choose from. This is a team built for a run. i really want this for our kids, and for coach West. Been a rough offseason. At at the end of the day, there is a ton to work on. Just glad footballs back
 4. 42-11 7:02 4th. Goid thoughts... Phones about to die. Lol
 5. 29-11 Humble. Halftime. defense coming to play, 2 TDs on forced fumbles. #3 Terio Brown has 2TDs. Tough to get a read on Tompkins. 11 points came off Humble fumbles on ST changing possession in wildcat territory.
 6. We will see on the Humble's QB, he is most certainly physically capable of doing a really good job for the Wildcats. He is a big dense kid, with a pair of legs and a strong arm. I hope he is able to replicate the sort of plays he had on the JV team, but it was clear that he was ready for varsity reps last year.
 7. Atascocita. As of mid season last year. If he went elsewhere, I am unaware. Though it wouldn't surprise me.
 8. I love when Humble is not on the radar....LOVE IT! Im just hoping we play for 48 minutes and keep it competitive.    With all that said, we should be greatly improved.  hoping for a 5th place finish, would mark considerable improvement.

Humble will be vastly improved over last year, but i don't think they can win the close games yet to get them a playoff spot.  I think we beat Kpark and CE king.  If Dayton is as one dimensional as they were last year, i can see Humble keeping it pretty close.  Last year Humble defense as not bad, it was our inability to sustain drives on offense that got us in a world of trouble.  Football is game of field position and keeping your legs fresh.    Humble will be very young, but Humble will be a lot better then last year.    I haven't read what Dave Campbell has said about this team yet, but i think in a year or so Humble will be back to form and in the playoffs.  With in two years i see us winning 19-4a or at the very least coming in the top 2 (a district i don't see us leaving)
Humble defense was pretty bad last year IMO.  Everyone on SC's squad scored in that game.  I think our cheerleaders had a couple TD's.  Nothing about that squad says WIN any time soon ...especially if SC hangs longer than expected in 19. If Dayton looks anything like last year, yes, Humble, New Caney, Porter, and KP all have a good chance.
Didn't that defense hold SC to 14 points in the first half?  lol A lot more goes into evaluating a defense then the number of TD scored against it.    Humble's defense was not bad, it was on the field the majority of the time.  Humble's defense didn't have the benefit of an offense that sustained drives and converted 3rd and 4th downs.  The Humble offense was the single biggest contributor to TD's scored.  I remember i was at a game and watched the Humble offense go 4th and out almost every possession.    When your defense is having to defend on its 30 yard line, every time....yeah, you are in some trouble keeping people out of the endzone.  Humble has some strong talent coming in, and Coach West has assembled a very capable staff.  Humble is not going to get runover like they did last year.. Why do you keep saying theirs a chance you are staying in 19.    No chance of that happening, you are moving up.  Unless you lose 200-300 kids out of no where, which there  is no logical reason for that to occur.    You will have 2200-2300 kids at the start of next season, that is a SOLIDLY 5a(6a) team.....
 11.

KB Home has set its sights on several hundred acres along the west side of Lake Houston. The national home builder has purchased 100 acres south of Will Clayton Parkway and is planning to close on nearly 300 more in the coming months, said land broker Chris Hutcheson with McAlister Real Estate. Hutcheson, along with Matt Herring and James Kadlick, represents the seller, Rockspring Capital, in the land sale.Hutcheson said this site is the “last remaining tract of any size along West Lake Houston Parkway not already in developers’ hands.”The land is north of Summerwood and Generation Park, a 4,000-acre business park expected to house energy-efficient buildings overlooking pedestrian plazas, waterways and landscaped esplanades.
I believe HUM398 mentioned the new community.  If it lands where I'm thinking, it should be in SC territory ...but not sure.  Currently there's a line somewhere up West Lake Houston that divides AHS and SC.
[Hidden Content] you will see that above Beltway 8 and the neighborhoods right on the beltway (north) is a large area of empty maroon?  See it? Okay, let me explain this again.... THAT area, is owned by KB homes, Perry homes, Ryland homes, etc.  The largest bit of land is owned by Perry homes.    The KB lot is in that big empty now forested land.  All that, will fill in with master planned communities, subdivisions, and "estates".        this is the area they are talking about.  I have linked the PASA study on here before, read it.    You will find you are perceptions are no where near the grey human reality you claim. It is a highly diverse set of developments ranging from middle class to high income homes.  The reality is, that the pieces you don't see moving are the ones that will change the way the community looks forever.    SC will look like AHS when its all said and done. (SC will lose the north western neighborhoods in 2015 to humble when the new middle school opens, to make room for these developments that will bring Exxon employee's, Gen Park move ins, and just accommodate growth in general) this past year, i know for a fact that the Lake Houston chamber of commerce has actively set out to lure families from Exxon Mobile from Virginia head quarters....before the move to the Spring global headquarters happens.    They have reported a HIGH volume of people will choose to relocate to the Lake Houston area.    This is a move in addition to Gen. park.

 13.
We'll see.  I gotta see how many from the middle school actually attend SC.  I believe there will be some going to Atascocita even though they're zoned form SC.  Also, just not seeing where all the explosive growth will come from unless those new homes get filled up with near-high school aged kids.  Humble really isn't that big of an area ...and we have THREE high schools. Lets close down Humble HS ...send them to SC ...we'll own any district you put in.
Does math allude you?  Lets look at the math here.    Let's say that of the 2000 homes the average family size is 4.  So we can safely predict that wil be the case with 8000 additional people to the area.  (the average family size in this area is actually closer to 5, but we will low ball).    of those 8000 people we know that roughly 17% will be from the ages 10-19 (per US Census numbers)...thats 1300+....even if you split that up for a 1/3 going to HS (actually probably closer to little less then half) thats 400+ kids added.  But it doesn't stop there....Because that is only 1 developer out of 8 that are building in summer creek.    2-3 years from the completion of these neighborhoods, you are looking at potentially up to 2000+ kid growth.    You say it can't happen that fast?  Well it happened to Humble in the early 2000's when we went from a mid 2K enrollment to nearly 5k kids. And why would we close Humble down to please you?  It should be the other way around.  We have more tradition, we have played football for nearly 100 years, and we have produced better teams.    lol
 14. I honestly think football coaches get compensated pretty fairly in Texas, considering the level of not only time they spend with the kids.  Head coaches for example are generally making between 75-115K.  Acting as not only a head football coach/campus coordinator (at 5a)...at lower levels also teaching classes.  During football season they are putting in 60-80 hours a week.  Not to mention they are generally working 2-3 weeks during the summer, when most of the assistant coaches have a 10 month contract.  No i think their is no case of an under paid coaches.  A lot of time is spent investing in these kids in ways that can transcend the classroom from a civic perspective.
 15. Humble Atascocita 3210 Humble Kingwood 2580 Klein 3152 Klein Collins 3266 Klein Forest 3528 Klein Oak 3736 Spring 3493 Spring Dekaney 2720 Spring Westfield 3196
Here's an alternate hypothesis: SC joining 13-5A would create a 10-team district, something that is very rare. 21-5A is currently a 7-team district. Channelview, La Porte, PAM and West Brook are at the lower end of the 5A size and have seen declining enrollment. If even just one were to decline to where it drops a division, UIL could put the Humble schools into 21-5A, making it at most a 9-team district. Impossible to know at this point. Several schools moving up and down. Pearland Dawson and Friendswood are both in growing areas and were very near the 4A/5A cutoff last time. Likely to be a lot of district changes in next winter's realignment.
I said perviously i highly doubted that the UIL would put them in 13-5a.  They have never paired 10 team districts with non fellow ISD schools before (To my knowledge).    they could theoretically do it if the district operated in a zone A and Zone B format.  I highly doubt they leave 21-5a a 7 team district though...given the affinity to make Humble ISD schools drive down to the GT.
 16.
Both schools will have enrollments running neck and neck.  Why should SC go and not Humble.  Atascocita HS has 3,210 in 5A.  Many 5A schools will have 1,000 to 1,500 more kids than SC and Humble.  Expect Humble's numbers to increase as kids make their way back to Humble now that Humble has resolved it's rating issue.
Eventually we will be 5a (6a).  However that day is at least 2 to 3 alignments away.    Humble does not have the growth rate potential that SC does, the majority of our growth will come with a rezone.    Like i have said dozens of times, Summer Creek will be one of the largest if not the largest HS in Humble ISD in the future.  Humble will only  start to get close to reaching the 2600 capacity when SC gives back the HMS neighborhoods.  when they discussed this the past year, The district estimated that 125 kids would be effected at the freshman class move to HHS.  With the incoming freshman class(@HHS) estimated at around 425-445, it would take us roughly 5 years to get to a 2000+ enrollment on that alone.  Plus the slow growth of new neighborhoods (rustic Pines, Townsen Landing, Atascocita Heights, BlackStone Creek) about 3-4 years before we reach around 2200.      At that point we will be on the line (depending on how the 6a numbers are established.  Projections say enrollments as low as 2020+ will be 6a) Int he same time period, SC is expect to nearly double in size.  Just last week KB homes bought a tract of land they will put 2000 homes off West lake houston parkway.  SC will go on before we will return back to 5a.  We still have some growing to do....lol.  By the way, our enrollments WILL never be neck and neck unless they add additional class room space and redraw EVERY high school south of the rivers lines.    They could make 3 equally sized 5a schools...but they never will.

I honestly see a lot of solid d2 or d1-aa kids in the 2014 class.  around 8 or so other then Allen and Sharp (obviously d1 kids).  Torrey Johnson looks like he could potentially pick a lower level D1 offer.  other than that, its way to early to tell
Aaron is dealing with the same thing as Johnny Football. He wants to be a Longhorn but they already have a commitment from the top qb in the state and in my opinion from watching the film the 2nd best dual threat in the country behind deshawn watson. Sharp plays the game well from the head up and moves well but he's a little thin and arm strength could be an issue in a vertical passing game. He runs well and is fast but he's not a natural runner like Heard who rushed and passed for over 2000 yards. Heard also has a cannon attached to his shoulder where Sharp's strength is accuracy instead. If he's worried about committing to Baylor because of Randall Cunningham who has never even thrown for a 1000 yards he'll really be looking over his shoulder because UT is usually going to get the best qb that stays in-stat. Over street was never going to play qb either, they just didn't want him to go to Michigan so they told him he would get a shot. Tyrone Swoopes moved him further down the depth chart. Kyle Allen who A&M just got is the same way, west coast Arizona guy who plays the equivalent of 3a and has designated reads. My cousin, Kenny Vaccaro and Alex Okafor all got arrested and didn't miss a game. Brewer played in what i consider an SC-like super spread and piled up good numbers but it was more system than player. I think UT is flat out loaded with Swoopes and Heard. I see wanting a look but why not go where you're wanted instead?
From what I've read it seems like they do really want Sharp, just not at Qb. Same thing at Baylor.
They don't offer unless they want you (Texas).  And i think they would give him a shot, they just aren't going to announce it to scare away what is a higher prospect on their board.    on Film i notice a couple of things difference, but two clear facets that makes Heard more appealing to keep then Sharp. 1. The ability for Heard to make plays with his legs. 2. The level of competition that Heard has played. I honestly believe Sharp is every bit as good as Heard, but for applewhite he wants a guy that looks more like Young then Geno Smith.  He would love to have them both, however if he had to choose.... well its evident he is going with Heard.    They want Sharp as an athlete, and i am willing to bet they would let him try out at QB.  But they won't risk Heard by offering him as such.  They believe Heard is a game changer for them, much like Young.  I think its a mistake, i hate when Texas takes 1 QB per class.    I think Swoopes looks like a bust, i hope i am dead wrong about that.  Kid sure does have a rocket for an arm though.
You think they would scare off Heard if they offered Sharp as a Qb? I'm not so sure about that, I would guess that Heard would have more confidence in himself than that. Besides if I were Heard I would want Sharp on the team, not only as competition at Qb but as a potential weapon to throw to in the future.
They would offer both of them if they could.  Harsin and Mack probably told him that he would be the only QB prospect in that class.  They have a history of doing that.  Gilbert is a perfect example. Its no so much that he is scared, as that he was brought on under the impression he would be the only guy.  Most schools will take two QB's in a single class, the only logical explanation is that Heard was told he would be it.  brining Sharp on would be going back on your word, and that can be used against you in recruiting. Is Sharp worth the risk.  That is what they are thinking.  Is the difference wide enough to where we can't afford to miss out on him? In my opinion, they determined no.  As a QB Sharp is undeniable talented....as anything else, you can probably find a Kid just like him at WR...not to mention Sharp wants to play QB not WR.  Sharps dynamic is that he plays QB...the Ath offer was to work around committing to Sharp as QB and telling Heard they no longer believe in him like they use to.    Why else would they offer a kid that has never played anything other then QB for any considerable time?  its pretty simple, they are telling him he is good enough to get an offer...but not worth the position commitment or risk that is carried by offering him when Heard was told he would be the guy.

Atascocita was plagued with an incompetent Head coach for the first 6 years of its existence.  They produced what you would expect a Colbert team to produce.    Anyone familiar with Colbert will tell you that the man was more a determent to development of game plans then a contributor.
AHS is 26-25 since they've had seniors. Have only won more than 5 games once. All you do is make excuses for why Humble ISD has so much talent but can't win games other than SC. I don't care how unsetteled the area is, if you have talent you should average more than 4 wins a season which Atascosita does. Humble high will only win 2 district games again this year but i guess the area is growing or the program doesn't have its footing? I guess opening SC ruined every football team in the district?
Not necessarily true. I'd say all the Humble isd schools are pretty close talent wise (I'd actually argue that AHS has a bit more to work with than SC). Humble, AHS, and KHS are adjusting to coaching changes, which IMO the first two are getting better coaches then they had before. I don't mean any disrespect when I say this, but coach Colbert and his staff was extremely apathetic, at least at Atascocita. I haven't seen that entire team anywhere near as fired up prior to the 2012 season, believe me, I've watched their games since year 1.
I agree.  AHS and Humble both got huge improvements.  I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Coach West, but i know Coach Stump...and he is a game changer.
recognizing problems is not making excuses, it is viable and logical explanation.  Look at Humble before the splits, they were a Top 7-8 5A R3 team most years... Nationally ranked twice in the 10 year prior, and consistently in the top 25 state wide.    what changed?  Splitting the school in half in 2006, then taking 1/3  out in 2009 for SC.  The Second hurt worst then the first due to the unacceptable rating and the gutting of our 2012 and 2013 depth and losing kids like Sharp and Dakota Allen to transfers.  The loss of Sharp alone was devastating.  Humble with Sharp is every bit as good as SC if not better.  Sharp makes that offense run like it does for SC, without him...they can't run that offense.  They revert back to Coach Ford's general fascination with the old North Shore offense....bland and safe.  Sharp allows you to do so much, and that kids football IQ is off the charts for the High School level.  Watch the film, this kid is asked to make reads that you don't typically expect HS QB's to make.  Kid is really special.    Kids like Sharp don't come along in an area very often.  Humble will win more then 2 games, and will be improving a lot over the next 2 years.  It won't be long before we are back in 5a(6a)

If i were this individual i wouldn't worry about it.  pour your heart into the game, do your very best, and things will work out.
