There will never be a team like that 2003 NS team, one of the only HS teams that could turn it on or off whenever THEY wanted to and still win. Special team that was. 2.
NS 03 was loaded. Bobby Reid was a beast in high school.
That team was beyond loaded.  That team looked and played like a D2 College football team.  They were disgusting.  I was at Turner when they thrashed a very talented Humble team.  That year we had a total of 6 or 7 kids that would sign LOI for D1 universities before their time at Humble was done.    Not to mention our Offensive line was MASSIVE...two kids over 6'5 300lbs, and i think the average weight was 280.    It should of been a game......and it wasn't. That was a sick sick football team
 3.
Tell me all the d1 talent on sc. Sharpe is the only player I see as a top 300.
Please revise, they have a lot of players that WILL play in college.  They have 2-3 kids in the 2013 class that will play college football at a d1 university.  But they have upwards of 15 kids that will play college ball. Dakota Allen, and Aaron Sharp.  Those two are certain if they stay healthy.
Was it you who said Nederland would lose BIG to Connaly?
No sir. My line has been that Nederland is suspect due to close win over Vidor and less than impressive win over a very weak Dayton team.  You gain no power ranking points by beating Pflugerville or Dayton.
Thats because you approach everything with an apples vs apples perspective when you can't do that in football.  Football is about match-ups, game plans, and style.    Nederland beat dayton 21-7, and Summer creek beat Dayton 45-7.  You conclusion is that Ned isn't as good as SC because of that score, however you discount how the two teams match up, what the key's of victory were for Ned, and the style of play (were they air it out, or ball control?).    This is why you didn't see GT coming, and its why you have a distorted view of how good YOUR team was.
 7.
SC is good enough to beat any true 4A team.  GTown running their 5A team this year is wrong.
This is logically deficient.  You are a sore loser, and i know GT is going to lose....and its only going to further confuse you on how Texas HS football works. GT beat you because they were better coached.  period.  in the playoffs, you have to be more then just a bunch of athletes....and that is all SC was.
 8.
No it wasn't.  Trust me...I'm on the sideline and in the lockeroom.  Not some know it all from the stands.
Oh so you are the team photographer?  I played, i coached, and i have scouted.  I think i can tell when theirs an adjustment made.  The idea that the exact same thing was done and then it magically started working is A. Rejecting reasonable plausibility for unreasonable improbability  B. Not indicated by the results. Defensive play and play calling was not very good in the first half.  Second half adjustments were made, and play improved...equals a better result.    If you are saying that the coaching staff didn't make ANY adjustments in the second half, i have some bad news for you....Angelton will lose big against GT.

The play calling didn't change at all and only 80 yards were given up in the 2nd half.  Plays and Personnel was exactly the same.
No im not.  Defensive adjustments were made.  Blitzes didn't start to "magically work against a team that could obviously find the soft spots in the defense.  They scored as many points as they did because Angelton was over agressive in the first half when they didn't have to be.  Play calling was pulled back some, and they let the kids run with the cougars.

 13. Its going to be close, but Angelton will win in the end by 2+ scores. The Wing T is such a hard defense to defend when you play it for the first time.  Its also a rare offense in Texas.  Angelton defense however is borderline terrible, and its play calling.  The DC for angelton needs to stop bringing blitzes, when his front 4 get enough pressure.  i will say this, if Angelton had played defense the way they did in the second half against Tomball....They would of scored upwards of 90 points and held tomball to 14-20pts.

 16.
[IMG][Hidden Content]] CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SUMMER CREEK BULLDOGS ON A FABULOUS UNSTOPPABLE SEASON! The Greatest Show on Turf was beaten today by a very fine 5A Georgetown Eagle team.  Congratulations to GTown on their win and Congratulations in advance for beating the brakes off the remaining 4A Division I field.  Angleton should get ready to turn in their pads.  Angleton is a good 4A and will be robbed by having to play a 5A team next week (as will Dawson after they destroy Nederland next week).  Keep your heads up guys, GTown should have stayed in 5A this year and dropped next year after the 90% senior team left. This GTown team reminds me very much of a Humble team a few years back during their first year dropping to 4A.  Same deal.  We faced a 5A team that year.  The true 4A Humble team was the following year and thereafter. We are the Greatest Show on Turf and THE BEST TRUE 4A TEAM IN THIS REGION hands down. Now, the rest of you can take your shots, but it won't change the fact GTown is robbing 4A teams this year.  Angleton will see next week. SC remains the best 4A team and the rightful State finalist team.  We must apologize to our fans and the remaining TRUE 4A teams as they will not be able to see the Greatest Show on Turf for the remainder of the season.  If you want to get a dose of SC, please visit our game page on Texanallsports.  There's plenty of great footage of us blowing out all challangers in 19-A.
Such total BS.  LOL.    id like to point out some difference here. 1. Yall have 5a numbers and are playing in 4a.  The snapshot that the district took wasn't accurate at all.  at the beginning of the season, yall had nearly 2150 student.  That is nearly the same number that Lufkin (a 5a powerhouse) has.    If anything yall, were "equally 5a".  Lol.    2. 19-4a was WAY down this.  Unexpectedly so.  Humble- way down, very young, and terrible, KP-down, dayton- way down (probably the worst Dayton team i have seen in 8-9 years), crosby- new coach, and down, BH-up, CE King- was CE King.    You had the benefit of a lot of luck.  I still maintain you have no defense, and your running game is average at best.    and GT showed us exactly that. 3. Great show on turf?  Maybe Aaron Sharp best QB in Texas, but the team as a whole...no way.  The route running the WR run is awful and entirely dependent on their superior athleticism.  Funny, cause this was THE same problem North Shore had under Ford as OC.  Ford is really good at one thing, placing his athletes at the right spots.  Offensive play calling against a good team, conservative and boring at best.  Thats why the game seemed slow to you.  Because Ford at the end of the day, doesn't have the spine to take risk.  SC is and will always struggle to come back and win a game with Ford as HC.. and it will frustrate you YEARS down the road from now to the point you will want him gone.  Because it will be a lot of 2 deeps and tickets to basketball season...  He comes from the same coaching tree as Walt Beasley...The Quillen tree.  All the coaches that came from under him directly or indirectly seem to struggle from the same crap...a lack of cojones. 4. Dawson will win this Region with little problem, and if they do have a problem...it will come from Angelton.  Dawson is playing at a different level then the rest of region 3, and its not really even close.  And guess what, they aren't even close to being good enough to win a state title. GT will lose, be it to Angelton...or Dawson.  A loss is coming, and it will likely be a blow out.  Match ups...that is the key difference. I will say that Angelton is probably favored here.  ill say that score is 61-42 Angelton.  But i wouldn't be surprised if GT won, only to fall to Dawson. on and Nederland fans, you have a HELL of defense.  Just don't have the horses to run with Dawson.

They were not ready for Varsity Lights. I was really impressed with the number of plays the sophomores on the team were making.  It appears all the sophomores on the roster played significant time.  It will take a while for these kids to get acclimated to this level of play, considering this is pretty much a JV team.  SC and Atascocita opening up so close together hurt Humble pretty badly. I see no where but up for these kids though.  I didn't see any quit towards the end, and that is something worth celebrating as a fan.
They better get it together....I did see a few athletes on the team, but I'm hearing they coming to Screek next year...the couple of sophomores that was good
You heard wrong.  The PEG ruling ends this year, and those students would have no grounds for transfer unless they have a parent or sibling attending that school. Humble is of a higher educational standing then SC with IB being on campus, as well as less reported and documented drug incidents and fights then SC by a pretty wide margin.  The claim of the individual above about this school being what he discribed is pure fantasy used by advocates against Humble.  Not sure who you heard that from, but it sounds like pure wishful thinking.  All 19 underclassmen on this squad will contribute more and more this season.  Humble will go into rebuilding mode with these group of guys.  From what i understand, the sophomore and freshman classes are very good from a talent perspective.  Im confident that Humble will return to form with in a season.  These Freshman, sophomores and Juniors are a solid foundation to build the future on. I expect a very potent Humble in 2013.  and i believe they will improve significantly as the season progresses this year. Humble has rebounded from splits before, this is no exception.  The talent, and coaching is here...now it will just take some time.

Scrimmages are as much about coaching as they are about players.  You try different things, and different pieces.  They are meant to fine tune, not come out victorious.  Thats why when i watch a scrimmage i watch coaching tendencies and technique more then i pay attention to plays.  how frequently do they blitz, do the coaches prefer man or zone, on offense how are the WR running routes.  Things of that nature.  I can't gauge the overall success of a team based on a fake game with no ramifications whos purpose is soley to perfect or fix broken tendencies. Make no mistake, Humble has a LOT to work on before district starts.  alot of these guys are going to be playing varsity for the very first time, and their is always learning curve.  Question for them is how fast can they learn?  Humble is athletic enough to play with anyone in the district, but is not experianced enough from what i have observed to win close games.  How well they do will depend on how mentally prepared these guys are.
