AD says position will be filled in coming weeks" per a twitter post
Beasley announced his retirement on November 6th unofficially.  And unofficially, from someone inside Humble ISD athletic department...Charles West OC for Dekaney is the new guy.

Dayton, Crosby, Summer Creek, Kingwood Park, Barbers Hill, and Humble are all very good programs.  If i was a betting man, i say the 4 top teams as it stands now (Dayton, Summer Creek, Kingwood Park, and Crosby) . Humble hired according to sources within the HISD athletic department Offensive coordinator Charles West of Dekaney High School to be head coach of the wildcats.  He'll have his work cut out for him, as we will be the youngest we have been since i have been following Wildcat football.  We will have talent, but we will be very very young.
Its a good thing you arn't a betting man ;) BH will be in the top 4 mark my word  8)
I guess we will see.  Porter high school is also on the move up, i was very impressed with that young group of guys.  They, unlike New Caney, have plenty of talent.  This is a very competitive district, thats very deep.  Theirs really not an easy game on the schedule outside of New caney, and maybe King depending on who they hired as a head coach. i really love 4a ball, but the one thing i hate....The crappy stadiums we have to play in.  So here is to hoping we play most of the games at Turner.
How can you possibly believe that?  Doesn't Atascocita have 700+ more students than West Brook?
Atascocita is exactly as stocked up on talent as the Humble teams of the 90's and double 00's.  They are stacked with talent.    and Humble has a 9-2 record against Westbrook with that sort of talent.  Stump is on the winning end here.
Didn't you post on 5a Texas football that Stump was an average coach and he only out talented other teams? That whenever he faced teams with equal or more talent he loses? It was a few years back, but I remember HUM398 posting that during a Humble/West Brook matchup week.
That was me, and i really haven't changed my position.  I think he understands how to use talent, and he will have plenty of it at Atascocita.  He generally loses in coaching battles when athleticism is eliminated.  Equal grounds doesn't fair well for Stump.  But i believe the same to be said about Aymond as well....
Any thoughts on who may get this job?
Honestly, I don't trust the School District anymore, so i couldn't even begin to tell you.  But i have heard dozens of rumors, none based on anything other then some exaggerations and hail mary's. I have heard the following: The push is for a black head coach by the community. anything else is a wild guess.  I know it will be outside the district from all indications of the last two hires they have made for football programs.  Brian Ford, and Craig Stump.    i don't really trust this school district to make a good choice here.  they have no regard for this school as is, and i can see intentionally hiring an underwhelming candidate.  only time will tell.

Sometimes I think it is good to go outside. It keeps the "good ole boy" system in check.
Ya they did but here it is. Colbert played for Coach Neal Q who Coached at Willowridge when Colbert was there. Coach Q also was the HC at Humble and pretty strong ties in HISD. Hence Coach C was hired from PA Memorial and John Q was the OC when Colbert was hired. Anyway ya he was but was a referral by Coach Q which is ok but just saying in years past HISD hires within for such jobs. Example? Coach Mcdougal is HC at Kingwood who came from Huffman but he was the DC under Coach Q at Humble for years. Coach Holly who is the HC at KPark was on the staff with McDougal at Kingwood. Coach Kite who is the AD for HISD is the former BB Coach at Humble. Before him was Phil Eaton who is the previous BB COach at Humble. Coach Beasley who was the most recent Coach at Humble was promoted from Coach Q staff. I hear that the new Coach at Humble is coming from the outside to. All Im saying...........
You are correct.  The last time they went outside completely was Neil Quillen.  That worked out pretty well. And i have also heard they will go outside for Humble High. Also the previous AD at Humble ISD was Zoe Simpson.
 8. ive heard some really random rumors. TSU former head coach Johnnie cole, Olin, Barbary, and yates ronald miller. they are not saying much, they did the whole atascocita hiring quietly as well.

 10. Olin to Humble? Im not sure if i like that, but those are the rumors im hearing here.
 11.
Are both of these teams spread teams and do they spread to run or throw?
if you use a "spread" offense to run... you are not a spread offense.  Difference between running out of shot-gun formation, and running a spread offense.
 12. Humble will be looking for a head coach within the next couple months.  So i hope Coach decides to submit his resume.  I know the community would love to have a guy like that coach our young men.

I thought forsure that Brenham would hang 40+ on KP. and Montgomery only putting 28 points on Huntsville? i think 17-4a and 18-4a are a lot weaker then we think.  But its still early, and i probably should judge anything off of 1st round results. a wins a win....Congrats to both 17-4a teams. this will really be an off year for me, if i called the Summercreek Mag West game wrong.
Brenham's offense isn't its strength.  They put up 35, that's pretty good. (especially if you only gave up 3) On to Ozen!
Oh i agree.  I guess i just didn't think brenham was weaker on offense.  But, Kingwood Park does have a decent defense.  Their a physical team.

Crosby ISD would be showing an agenda if they do that and that agenda would not be a quality program.
He's a good guy too.  Known him since high school.
Yes, he is a very good guy and a great football coach!! It would be foolish for Crosby to let him go!
Wouldn't mind coach to come on over to Humble, and fill the void.
 15.
I'm not sure anybody really "benefits" from this situation. HISD is supposedly going to take those 7500 students but I bet some of them end up in Sheldon ISD, Humble ISD, and even Aldine ISD.
Rest assured, that area will se more development now that NFISD is gone.    But in the mean time, its going to push your athletes to programs that succeed.  the area is a good 20 years away from recovering, still an extremely rural area for being "urban"

 17.
Cubs miss 35yd FG.
ive been impressed with Kparks defense in the later part of the year, but they are terribly inconsistant. I am going to the Manvel Brenham game when it occurs.
 18. also don't lump me in as some coward that is afraid to show my face. I haven't done a lot of HS games this year, and haven't really been as active on the internet side either. Life happens, and sometimes...unfortunately....HS football has to take a back seat.
 19. lol... i haven't gone anywhere.  I still believe Humble is a force to be reckoned with, but we had some unfortunate things occur this year.  a giant storm of crap flew our way, and the end result is a losing season. 1. Summer Creek has players that are zoned to Humble but play for them due to a state law that says if a school gets on the peg list (title 1), they can transfer to another school of their choice.    Well, given that our former Head coach Walt Beasley (He has retired as of last week) was not well liked.  Many saw it as an opportunity to play for Coach Ford, a coach with a resume of success.  2. We sustained some heavy loses on defense early in the season.  D1 prospect Kyndhal Hill decided to quit football and focus on Basketball, and his replacement DE Daunte Doucette (a D1 athlete as well), was no longer on the team as of game 4.  We sustained several injuries, that ate away at our depth. 3. Our offense was a turn-over machine, we routinely lost the turnover battle by at least 5-6 turnovers-  This falls on coaches, plain and simple. We were competitive defensively until Huntsville, when we lost a 13-6 battle against a team that had no business hanging with us.  We had 6 turnovers, and they scored twice off of them...one inside our own 20.  One on a pick-6. We showed up against Willis, and had them beat with 7 minutes in the 4th quarter...But alas, We threw 5 INT's that game...and they edged us out 17-14. The coaches lost the kids confidence, and the rest is history. a new coaching staff is coming in, and the Sophomore and Freshman classes are strong.  we will be back. Atascocita is also going to be redrawing the lines apparently, so this my be our last stint in 4a.  We registered just under 1500 for the snap shot i believe.  Thats a mighty huge blow for a school that had 5,000 in 2005.
 20.
Who stands to benefit the most from this?  Kashmere High School?  Humble?
Summer Creek, Humble, Kashmere, and CE King all benefit.
 21.
IF you watched them play the first game of the season, they did not have Pounds at QB. He can throw the pill and most of the pass plays are on PA. K Park sets up the pass with the run. I loved watching them play and impressed. HUM you are absolutely correct, IFFFFFFFFF you eliminate mistakes. IMO thats discipline and covering up the dang football. If it's a problem now, not sure they wake up in the morning and fumble-itis fixes itself. Man you supposed to be on the 5A forum. Whatcha doing over here? lol
I watched the Channelview game and the Mag West game.  Pounds was in, and shows a great arm....with no accuracy.  KPARK isn't as fast as they were last year, and its one of the reasons that Optionesque spread won't work against teams with superior speed.  Mag West managed to score 40+ points on Kpark, after they wore down their d-line....which is slow and undersized. In terms of Humble eliminating the mistakes, if you look at all the fumbles that have occurred thus far...is most due to inexperience of the RB spot.    Starting RB jerkalyn Holliday is 5'9 165lbs speed demon, but the truth of it all is that he is still a first year varsity RB.  He played WR last year, and mostly in a back up role.  He isn't exactly built to get hard yards, and having guys that are 6'2 230lbs attacking you is going to lead to some undesirable outcomes.  He hasn't had to face that.  His longest run last year was a 95 yard TD run, on a play he didn't even get touched on becomes he simply torched the defense with his speed.  He doesn't have the luxury of a tested O-Line at this point in the season.    I also believe its a coaching adjustment...Holliday has to split his carries with a bigger back, and DB/RB Zac Miles showed himself to be just that in the Sterling game...at 5'10 185lbs he posses the strength and speed to provide a much needed power running game.    We lost Holliday in week 2 to a shoulder injury, he returned for dobie and preformed very green. He got the majority of the carries, and showed that he simply isn't experienced enough and perhaps big enough to take the load on all by himself.  He will get better, and so will our mistakes.    Nothing i saw indicated that these mistakes were more then just young player mistakes, and some mental errors (attempted pitches). Humble will win this district, and i don't think its really going to be close.
 22.
K Park aint terrible! Offensive line is huge. QB Pounds can throw the pill. Play action is well executed after they pound it up the middle. Defense flies to the football. Give em some credit HUM398. I know your boys in Humble have had it rough couple of games, actually shocking to me! K Park aint terrible Dawg. Channelview is going to upset some folk in that district. Aint no pushover!
Their terrible.  I could go into why that exactly is, but no one really cares.  all im going to  say is, that if they can't generate a passing game...They will no make the playoffs.    Summer Creek, Huntsville, and Kpark are going to be fighting for 3rd and 4th place. To say we have a had a rough couple games (Humble) is an understatement.  But i am confident that the mistake prone offense wills settle down in time for the meat of the schedule.  Humble has lost their two games because we can't seem to avoid putting the rock on the turf, or making silly mental errors....But like i said before the season started, this is a very green offense, a lot of Offensive linemen that didn't play last year...a QB that was playing WR....and a RB who only saw mop up duty.  It will take them a while to gel, but when it happens they are going to be dangerous.  Teams can't generally win or even stay in games close with an average of 6 fumbles a game, and averaging around 7-8 total turnovers a game.  But we have lost to two worthy 5a opponents, and ultimately could of won either of them.  Humble eliminates the offensive mistakes, and we will roll through district.  We have three tune-up games before going into Huntsville.  i imagine we will get it all worked out by week 7
 23. Not sure how they lost to K-Park (because that team is seriously, terrible), but they managed to move the ball very well against an Humble defense that has played lights out for nearly 13 games now.  Given that the Humble offense is struggling not to turn the ball over, i still walked away very impressed with channel-view.  I told my buddy who attended the game with me that night "These guys are legit".      Chron has them at 786 yards of total offense, even against crappy defenses thats hard to pull off. They should beat Dobie next week, Humble just finished playing them....and a had we not had 9 turn overs we would of handled them.    Next week Channelview 49  Dobie 35 QB Hurts has improved a TON.  Coach Hurts is doing a great job over there.
 24.
Coach West said, "if my team lined up to run the 40, Malcom would finish the in the top 10" It was a recruiting show on ESPNU that made the size comment. Heads up on Huntsville & Stratford- Huntsville runs what they call NASCAR. (No huddle offense) they went down the field on us and scored in 3 plays.  It wasn't till their 3rd possession that we caught on and adapted for it.  After that, we shut them down.  They had 262 yards on us but we played our 2nd team defense in the 2nd half.  All together, our defense created 5 turnovers.  We had caused 3 more on special teams.  They seem to snowball once we figured their offense out.  Stratford struggled on stopping the run against Memorial.  Everybody in the stadium knew what Memorial was gonna do, but every run, they about 5 yards.  A.J. Justice looked impressive at safety, but their other D1 player (Rainey) on defense, Got hurt in the 1st quarter.  Their QB is overhyped IMO.  He would stare at the receiver the whole time. (very predictable)  I also heard that their best WR & best HB were injured that game too.  They passed the whole 1st quarter, but it wasn't very successful.  They also wouldn't wrap up while tackling.
Yeah i had read that they were a no-huddle now (huntsville).  how did they handle Brown?  I know the Humble and Brenham defenses are different in terms of schematic attack....We run a 4-2-5, while yall run that 3-4.  Id think they'd struggle at least to the same degree with DT Ezell and DT Boyette coming at them later on in the season.    Huntsville generally a tough little team, so i look forward to seeing how they progress. Yeah i heard Stratford's QB is all hype, and thats about it.  I didn't think he would transition well to the UIL, so i guess we will have to keep an eye out for that.  Stratford appears to have regressed offensively.
