1.
HUM398 how is humble looking this year?
Defensively, they are loaded. Fast, aggressive, and mean (the only word i can think to accurately define their identity).  Should be improved on their performance last year defensively.    Offensively, they return some guys but i think it will be a work in progress as the season progresses.  The offensive line is a little undersized for my liking, but they have some solid options at WR and RB.    They have the weapons to score from anywhere on the field at any given time, and the ability to take what the defense gives them.  QB is a threat to take it to the house on any give play, as is the RB.  WR's for Humble are more possession guys, but Returning Start CJ Elkins does have the tools to take a hook route and turn it into 6pts. Biggest weakness defensively, the deep ball.  But this was an observation at the second scrimmage against Ike (The only scrimmage i attended).  Offensively the weakness is the Offensive lines overall "green-ness"....which will improve with time. Im anxious to see how they start off out of the gate, Channelview should of beaten Kingwood Park....Who is suppose to be a Playoff team this year in 18-4a.  Humble has traditionally been slow out of the gate of the last couple of years....so if they come out and decimate Channelview, then id say they are probably well ahead of where they started last year.    If not, then it will take a while to see how good this Humble team actually is.
 2.

Here's a good article on Malcolm Brown Brenhamfan enjoy-[Hidden Content]
Thanks...  Ya, everything in that article is legit.  The one knock on him, (if you can even call it that) is his size.  They say he's small for a DT, but makes up for it in how explosive and aggressive he is.  He may not lead the team in tackles, because of all of the attention and double teams draws, but when you have so many other playmakers and D1 recruits around him, it makes him a huge asset to the defense.  One thing is for sure, you will know when he's on the field.  Lol. MaxPreps has him at #43 in the nation. Scout.com has him at #29 in the nation. ESPNU 150 has him at #13 in the nation.
Small for a DT?  are you kidding?  He's what 6'2 280?  He is a pretty physically imposing figure.  I look forward to seeing him and Boyette (Humble) playing on the same line at the next level.    Brown explosiveness, combined with the strength and demanding respect of Boyette....  You can't double team both of them.
 3.
Both Dayton & Manvel had wins against 5a teams and went down in the rankings ~
In fairness, only Dayton got screwed.  Im pretty sure anyone can beat willowridge, on top of that....They have 4a numbers, so thats not really a 5a program. with Dayton, i think they should of move up at least one spot.  They are significantly smaller and undermanned in comparison to Elkins.  the win was impressive enough for a bump
 4.
Yes you read that correctly.  The Clear Lake offense. I would expect about a 56-7 win for Humble.  Of course this is not knowing a darn thing about what Humble has. Sterling has to find a way to get the ball to Gibson 10-12 times a game on offense.  Whether that means putting him at wingback or throwing it deep to him once or twice per possession.  He is their best player by a wide margin.  He can create a td or two just by being that much better than the guy covering him and out-jumping and out-muscling him for the ball. The defense isn't much to write home about for Sterling.
I haven't seen what this years version of Humble looks like, but they return two D1 Tackles (Zorrell Ezell 6'2 275-Baylor, and Paul Boyette Jr 6'4 290- Texas), and a total of 7 defensive starters return from at team that allowed about 1 TD a game on average.      If Sterling cant control the line of scrimmage, they are going to have a LONG day when they face off with the Wildcats.
 5. So what should i expect from Sterling when the face off against Humble in a couple weeks? Did i read that correctly, they went to an option offense?
 6. Id switch Manvel and Humble. Switch LaMarque and Dawson Put El Campo at 9, Dayton at 8... and drop replace KP with Montgomery.
 7. I think Central is going to be just fine, i have them finishing 1st or 2nd. Their other RB was pretty impressive, and i thought was better then heard.    all i can say is, i hope we draw them...id love to host them at Turner.
 8. Humble's top players Offense: Kyle Tucker (QB), Jaylen Zallicoffer (WR), Carl Elkins (WR), OL Deandre Carreway Defense: The entire unit is talented.  however Texas Commit DL Paul Boyette, DL Zorrel Ezell, DL Kyndal Hill, and DB Cameron Solomon
 9. Dang. The Humble area is Representing pretty strongly this year. QB- Kyle Washington  Humble HS FS- Brison Burris        Humble HS LB- Charles Woods    Humble HS LB- Kevin Palin          Nimitz HS  (Nimitz has two of its largest neighborhood in the Humble area, Kenswick/Deerbrook estates and Foxwood/Saddle Ridge.  Kevin is from this area) DB Nick Brooks          Atascocita HS

No telling what the skewl sports are going to look like next year.
TRUE DAT................. Did hear that HUM / KP might fill the spot.
Would love for Humble to fill in the spot, but we do have three scrimmages already scheduled.  Would love to get rid of Milby and Wheatley (a pointless scrimmage). what i am hearing we have filled our spot with the 1st and 3rd scrimmage being disposable if we can find suitable replacements Week 1:  Wheatley Week 2:  IKE- Rumored (heard this from my neighbor, who's son plays for Humble) Week 3: Milby. Id love to see a Humble-Dayton Scrimmage where Milby or Wheatley currently is.   Livingston backed out of the scrimmage last year where Ike is rumored to sit now.

Central was a long time ago, and he has failed since then. North Forest?  its a possible, its the only place i can see someone opening theirs arms for him at this point.   he has a soiled reputation due to his issues with Aldine ISD. And if you know Deon Samuels, you'll know he isn't someone you wanna piss off....he can seriously screw up your chances of landing a good job after life in Aldine ISD (since all those jobs are stepping stone jobs with the exception of IKE).  After the Suggs and Phipps incidents, its a must to have an Exit strategy for any of those schools. Hope he finds his way back to respectability.
CE King is a school that used to be a tough team and I dont know their coaching situation but the past few years have been hurtin. NO NO NO SCOOTER we have a HC and a "part time" AD that will keep the BRONX where they need to be. ;) "or atleast till the first L or the season next year" :D
CE King jusst hired a new head coach this past year.  From Cy-Ridge i believe.  They will get better, but will probably maintain 3rd of 4th place spots in 19-4a.    With Schools Like North Shore to the south and Summer Creek, and Humble to the north....its tough to get kids to stay in a sandwiched rural school district.

 13.
Support comes with wins. As talent goes, the really good middle school students seem to move to the Woodlands, when their family suddenly got jobs in Conroe! I never figured that! I guess it was just Lucky!!
generally speaking you are right...However their is a real deficit of talent at New Caney.  most of the talent was those kids from the kingwood portion and cumberland subdivison of new caney isd...Which now goes to Porter High
 14.
oh, now you want to come back on the forum....couldn't find you with a search warrant after Humble's loss in the play-offs.
The season was over...i never proclaimed we would be victorious, in fact...i was out of town up until 10am that Saturday morning and barely made the game. So with no crow to eat, and nothing to talk about after a horrific showing by Humble....Why would i come on here?  Friendswood was moving on, and Humble was Old news.  Wasn't the regular season man... ::) You just have your boys suit up, hate to wipe the floor with them again in an embarrassing showing for Willis.
 15.
I'm not so sure about the three coaches in three years, because I believe that coach roberts was there longer than that, but yeah, this guy has greatly irritated just about everybody he's come into contact with.
New Caney is a terrible job. 1. Lack of Talent 2. Lack of support Its a tough gig.  They didn't have the talent to compete in 5a, and they don't have the Talent to compete in 18-4a.  Porter will be a much stronger program....Hensely got duped by taking that Job.
 16.
Maybe he didn't like sharing resources in Aldine ISD (4 5a schools).  At Ball High, he stays at 5a in a one school town.  And IMO, Ball have just as much talent come through their halls as Nimitz does...
Nimtiz High is probably one of the most talent rich schools in the state.  Their aren't many schools that can compete with them in terms of quality,  however they have never been able to build a decent team even with Excellent coaches.  The atmosphere at Nimitz is horrendous and the student body there is out of control....its like watching Dangerous Minds.  It is by far the worst school in Aldine ISD in terms of behavior and student mentality.. They have had great coaches, that haven't not had success or chose other positions with more promise. 1. Neil Qullien (State Champion coach at Willowridge,  and Humble Wildcat Coach in the 90's) 2. David Aymond ( Took over after Quillen left for Humble, he hated it so much....He left for a horrendous North Shore Program) 3. David Suggs (proven Winner at Central, was so unsuccessful in developing a scheme that his kids could pick up.  was forced out)
 17. Nederland has a chance against Humble if they Hold Kyndal Hill (6'7 215-220).  I have seem them play about 10-11 times this year, and Hill is the difference between a blow out win and a squeeker.  If Hill plays well, Nederland loses by 10-15.  The difference between that loss to Huntsville and that blow out of Huntsville was Hill.  The first game he only had 2pts and i think 2 rebounds.  The Blowout was 10pts and about 20 rebounds.  Kid is as talented of a basketball player as he is a DE for football.  Humble has a strong rotation as well.  Humble has historically under Coach Martinez kept the bench and depth rather shallow....Its part of his formula for development.  Theirs about 2-3 kids on JV that should be varsity players, but are just too raw to run his system. good luck to both teams, Nederland is good....and if they can shut out Hill they have a shot to win in a close one.
 18. That sucks. Well Congrats to Coach Stewart on many many many years of success. a great coach, but a even better man. Im sure the broncos will find a worthy replacement
 19.
Ok I have a new prediction after studying some of the game tape courtesy of you tube. I sorry to say this but I believe you will see a Friendswood victory. There I said it. Wow I kinda feel well Im not sure. Anyway good luck to both teams neither can hurt my district this season
uh?  Which teams youtube clips did you watch??????  cause to my knowledge we don' have any on there....well outside of the highlights that 24/7 put together..  other then that, i haven't been able to find any. Now i know friendswood has 12 games of highlights...is that what you are referring to?
 20.
there is no way humble beats friendswood, all the d1 prospects that the humble faithful boasted about really didnt show me much against central except when it counted they were helped out by the refs go figure. I look for this game to get ugly quick. ;D
::) Our kids and coaches will do the talking on the field.  just be prepared to eat crow if the times comes.
 21.

I don't know who is worse... Friendswood Fan or HUM398 Both are obnoxious, teen age minded, high school football fans. At least one of them will be terminated this week. Who is the lesser of the two evils? Give credit to them, both support very good high school football teams. I got to go with Friendswood in this one.  It is just really hard to stop a good spread offense in high school.  Friendswood does it better than any one around here in 4A.
I will agree with you.  hum398 is EXTREMELY obnoxious at times, however he does know quite a bit about football.  I do believe he can be a little insensitive as well.  Needs to work on his people skills. hum398, i have read your stuff for years.  When you were on the 5a site, the Houston site, and this one.  At times i am proud to call you a fan, other times i can't help but put my hands on my head an shake it.   Lets keep things civil, and remember that this is about the kids.  I have told you this before(on another board), but sometimes it seems like you take all this a little to serious. Sometimes we forget how hard these coaches, kids, and booster clubs put into all this.  it takes a tremendous amount of dedication to prepare for a season, go through a season, and wrap up a season.   saying teams suck, or saying kids suck, or saying coaches suck is really not appropriate. (not accusing anyone on here of doing that), but given the direction of the conversation id thought id just remind you that parents, fans, kids, and probably coaches read these boards.  Just like the announcers say before every UIL football game, lets support these programs.  Its not meant to build enemies but friendly competition. lets all get along, we can talk a little smack, but it doesn't need to ascend into anything else. back on topic: What can anyone tell me about friendswood?  i know at the beginning of the season they struggled against stratford, but often the products put on the field early on is not exactly the product put on the field later in the season?
Wildcat05, i can respect where you are coming from....and i realize that sometimes people view me as hard to get along with.  But i really am not intentionally trying to annoy anyone...i do like to press buttons however.  I try to keep it clean.....  I love the wildcat football as beechnut pointed out....i was hear for the "glory" days, and i have been through the tough patches.... just trying to make sure our guys get the respect they deserver.....welcome to the board Wildcat05'.  Hope you'll stick around for the rest of this season....and following seasons...as i know i will
 22.
Hum398 where are dl lineman going to college for Humble? Anyone else getting any looks?
Well, i don't have the inside track on the program like i use t......  So some of the info is hear-say.  But from what i have read, the following schools are looking at our Dline kids... Paul Boyette (6'4 290lbs)- Bama, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, Mizzou, OU, Okie state just to name a few.  apparently his favorites are Texas, LSU, and Bama...this is all via hookem' 24/7 and gig'em 24/7... I sit close to a guy during the games that i believe is Boyettes father or uncle (not sure)...and he said that Paul Boyette really likes Texas...But i can definitely see him at Bama Zorell Ezell (6'2 250lbs)- OU, A&M, Houston, Tulsa, UTSA, and a couple others. Kyndal HIll (6'6 210)- UH, Tulsa, Tulane, Utep, and Texas are all evaluating him. Brison Burris has one offer from Miami Ohio, but i would imagine by seasons end he is probably look at a couple more.   other then that, i am kind of out of the loop on exactly who is looking at them.  I keep a close eye on the recruiting boards for any news....But id imagine our Junior and Senior class could account from anywhere from 6-9 total D1 prospects...We will see i guess names to look out for... SS Alphonso Harleston DB Cameron Solomon LB Devonta Smith DB Der. Smith (not sure of his first name, but kids pretty good.....  started early in the season, but is a SOLID special teams kid) lots of talent....and all the above mentioned kids have D1 size and speed.
 23.

Just a heads up.  If you're going to use a word to insult someone's intelligence, you might want to spell it right. I don't care who you had to play, the bottom line is Humble's playoff success has been minimal in comparison to Dayton's in recent years.  If you think getting beat in the first round is better than making the deep runs that Dayton has, I can't help you.   Also, you have no clue what kind of success Coach Stewart would or wouldn't have had in Humble.   I also love how you say yall aren't hanging on to the past yet you bring up Quillens in a thread about Humble/Friendswood 2010.   I never said Humble wouldn't win the district yall are in.  When all the realignment talk was going on I said Humble wouldn't win district if put in Dayton's district.  Unfortunately we won't get to find out.
Again, frazier....i am not interested in having a pissing match with you...yet you insist.   The fact that you are on here parading around about how awesome dayton is only a testament on how incredibly pathetic you are.   I have never in all my years of following High School Football met a fan with such arrogance and disrespect for other programs achievements.  Its a shame too, because i tend to think downgoesfrazier when thinking of the fans of Dayton.    AND i know that isn't the case, lot of good folks out that way. For a program that has done a really good job of making it to the playoffs and hanging around a 1-3 rounds , you sure do act like you are some sort of program on the level of The Katy Tigers or North Shore Mustangs.  Good Lord..the way you talk about Stewart as if the guy just craps out State Championship Trophies... You are a 4A Region III power...That is the extent of your greatness.  I could say the same thing about Dayton as i could about Humble Pre-2007.  Hey that Cody Green kid had a couple of really good years in him huh?  but bad news, he graduated.   and he aint coming back. Go take a look at what you all have done prior to that....Man, can't be proud of that...make you look a lot like the 4a version of Humble. Be proud of your kids...proud of your program...no beef with any of it.  Just seems that you really really dislike the 'Cats.  Im proud of our traditions, as you are of yours.  Yall have been great on this level, and it to be commended.  But save me the "We're Dayton" persona....i really don't give a rats butt.
I made my prediction about the game based on coaching.  You didn't like it, but instead of making the case for your coaching staff, you take a backhanded shot at our coach.  Then when I present my case with facts, you call me an imbecile but completely butchered the spelling, thus making you look like the imbecile.   Point me to the posts where I'm "parading around" talking about how awesome Dayton is.  You called out our coach and I pointed out what he's accomplished at our school.   There's no disrespect for Humble like I've said before.  I have none for you.  When all the realignment talk started you said big boy 5A Humble would run through our district.  Blah Blah Blah.   I know Cody isn't coming back.  What you're not seeing is that Dayton is in the middle of it's 4th deep run in four years and Cody was only the starter for one.  But let's not let facts get in the way of your argument.   If you want to say Humble and Dayton have had the same amount of success and that they are comparable over the last 15 years that's fine.
Admin note:  Hey HUM, we don't need that type of language.  You and me are cool...let's keep it that way.
 24.
WOW :o Easy fellows before the Rick Flair chops get broke out (in my best Tyrone Biggums voice). Isnt this a FW vs HUM thread not a wish we were in tha glory days thread. Any team left in the playoffs right now are a good program or atleast for this year. We have all seen the coaches success is measured by more than Ws and Ls thread and really it is alright for a community no matter DAY / FW / HUM / PNG / LA MARQUE / to be proud of what their team is doing this year. Thats all that matters right now is "this year". What happened 10 years / 10 weeks / 10 days / 10 minutes ago means nothing come FRI / SAT. All that matters is two schools go out represents not only the school, kids but the community.(in my best SETEX MODERATOR wanna be voice) ;D
Agreed.  I am done with the discussion and wish to speak of nothing but friendswood. I am hearing that they had kids out with mono this past game, and one with a concussion.  Are they back this week?  are they out for a couple?  Scoop anyone?
 25.

dude....im not being serious.   This was a comment that was made about Humble this past friday.  i was merely interjecting as was done to our thread.
I made the comment that the best team did not win Friday Night...Let me clarify, line these two teams up again and again and again (Central and Humble) and give Central Humbles coaches and Central wins again and again and again. Centrals coaching staff did not take advantage of Humbles weaknesses. As for Saturday night, both coaches took advantage of the others weaknesses and the better team won. There was no real "aha, that was a poor coaching decision" moment. Also to the PNG fan that complained about what you called an illegal forward lateral for the TD by Willis, this was not an illegal forward lateral, just dumb luck and it happened to occur two plays after the dumb luck catch after a batted pass. The play was legal. By rule a fumble can be advanced by a player other than the one who fumbled on 1st through 3rd downs. Only on 4th down is it illegal for obvious reasons (not wanting people to fumble on purpose if they wont make the line to gain). The fact that the fumbled ball never hit the ground doesn't constitute it being a lateral since he was not throwing the ball, it was stripped. Just unlucky on our part!
See thats where this argument gets stupid.  You watch one game, and are ready to makes that sort of assessment?  really?
