1.
Our offense seems to sputter at times then shine bright all of a sudden. HUM398, if you were an offensive coodinator planning a game with KP, how would you attack their defense? Outside, inside, heavy pass attack? BrenhamFan, you might chime on this as well. The cubs did seem to have success on drives when they didn't have the turnovers.
If i was a OC planning on playing Kingwood park, id attack the outside and get my play makers in space. Attack the flats ALL DAY.  id also throw quite a flew slant routes in there to soften up that LB unit who tend to like to come down and put a hand in the dirt.   If you spread Kingwood out enough, you have quite a bit of running room.   My objective would be to dink and dunk and get them worn out, keep about a 55-45 Pass-Run ratio... If you are up at halftime, you will win the game.
 2.
I sincerely hope that turnovers are not a big factor in this game for either team. I hate all the looking back saying what if....  I'd rather beat or get beaten by good old hardnosed football. I believe KP could be successful against the Broncos by spreading the field and utilizing the short to medium range passing game, mixed in with some draws, shuttle passes, etc. to their capable running back. If they line up and try to pound it up the middle or off tackle, that would be playing to Dayton's strength. IMO Since I haven't seen KP yet, it's hard to say what the Broncos need to do to be successful against the Panthers. The obvious is hang on to the rock. Beyond that, I would say whatever it takes to sustain drives and move the chains. I hope the broncos don't fall into the run, run, then 3rd & 7 pass attempt. That's not the game they play best. Hopefully we can run the ball against this team, which would open the passing lanes a bit. I would like to see if they can get Baldwin some more touches this game, and see if just maybe he can get outside and use his speed against this team. I have it all envisioned in my mind how this game should go. Problem is, it never quite works that way for me.  ;D
Kingwood park doesn't generally utlize the mid range passes as often as you would think.  They like to take a shot at some lower compeltition higher reward passes.  It will not be unusal to see them trying to throw down the field some.  I honestly think they have the athletes to run with dayton, but their offensive game plan is a little niave.  They were lucky Brenham turned the ball over six times, because Kingwood park could of easily lost 21-0.  If broncos play a mistake free game, they have a good shot at putting it away by 3rd quarter.  this should be a hard fought battle.
 3.
With an exception of the first 3 games Dayton has not really turned the ball over very much at all so KP better not hope on that one.
Ive looked at the stats.  Dayton has fumbled at least once and lost it, in every game leading up to this one.  Certainly Dayton hasn't been putting it on the turf as often as they were after lets say the Galena Park game, but as the level of competition decreased...so did the number of turnovers. IMHO, Kingwood park has a better defense then Livingston.  we will have to see.  I see the Broncos coming out of this one, but i def. see the possibility of an "Upset"
 4.

Hearing a lot of props for KP.  Most of Beaumont picking them to win....LaMarque chiming in with a close game prediction...Humble stating an opinion along with the facts to back it up.  I'm waiting to hear what Brenham fan thinks??  Brenham didn't play their game and it cost them the win.  Didn't notice KP having that cannon legged kicker making 65 yarders in pre-game in any film....he must've been a senior last year.
BrenhamFan says, if Dayton doesn't turn the ball over in their own redzone like we did, KP's fairytale is over.  I doubt they catch that many breaks 2 games in a row.  I'm gonna predict that they are just happy to beat us and be in the second round.  Dayton wins this one rather easily, leaving everybody to wonder about the game that could have been. (Brenham vs Dayton) Dayton 34 Kingwood Park 17
Given that Dayton has a had a problem with turning the ball over, i am inclined to believe that the same standards would follow suit.  The truth of the matter is that Kingwood Park's defense is actually a pretty decent unit.  They may have recovered the fumbles from dayton, but they did a pretty good job controlling the line of scrimmage against the cubs.  With all that being said, their are a lot of things about kingwood park that just don't add up to a likely victory.  Statistically speaking, they have a chance to squeak out a close one. Key's to Victory: Dayton- Keep the ball off the turf.  You can't expect to win when in the 2nd round when you are letting the turf monster gobble up your possessions. If you don't allow Kingwood Park to take advantage of your turnovers, you will be fine. Kingwood Park- Create Turnovers on a Turnover prone offense.  Play a strong 3rd Quarter.  Statistically, KP has horrendous 3rd quarters.  If you can avoid the collapse in the 3rd, and create, recover, and take advantage of any turnover that comes your way.  You will win a close one. i still say Dayton 28-21.

Well, their track team just got alot better...  (we use to have a slight edge on them, but I think this changes alot) :-\
Won't matter anyway.  Humble, Summer Creek, and Kingwood Park will be the top three teams in track.

 8.
The team that comes  close to what Humble has is Memorial.  We were outplayed in every facette of the game. That's been since week 0 though.   Lets see how far we've  came along. I hope our coaches don't decide to play cat and mouse. Way too dangerous at this point of the season!
I think that is a fair assessment of the talent level this season.  i do think we utilize our talent better then they do on the defensive side of the ball.  Javeon Slone (#72 i believe, was 90 or 99 last season) is comparable to Paul Boyette.  Both are built similar, but Boyette is better with his hands and seems to have a better nose for the ball.  Zorrell Ezell to me is the unsung hero of that D-line.  His motor just runs 200% all the time, and is extremely difficult to block.  He is big, yet athletic enough to out power you and out run you.   I am interested to see how well we match up against Central, because a lot of the SETX folks on here say they are pretty good.  and i am always excited to  see us play the best.

Just looking at the brenham game, you can see that the major factor was 4 turnovers early.  that and the Brenham offense was not what it was billed to be. Which was unstoppable
we know all too well. turnovers late too right?? KPark outscored them 16-0 in the 4th. One of the fumbles was on the 7 yd line I believe. HUM... was kpark stripping the ball or was it more Brenham's doing??
Brenham's doing.  I only say one TRUE forced fumble and the cubs recovered. The very first one on the kick off was a knukle ball that hit the KR hands funny and bounced out to the Kpark player...the rest were much of the same, just some poor ball handling skills.

 15.
This will be a very tough matchup.  The Boyette kid (6'4 275) is a beast, but it will take more than one man to slow Central down.  I know that Humble is more than just a one trick pony and I can see this game quite possibly going either way.  But, the jags have got to find a way to neutralize this kid.  My take is that this one will come down to take aways and turnovers. Jags take this one 24 - 21. ;)
Boyette is a beast, but so is his counter part DT Zorrell Ezell 6'2 250. This kid as a motor on him, and is probably the toughest to block of the two.  Boyette requires a double team, and this really frees up Ezell to wreck havock. Kid is fast as well.   DE Kyndal Hill 6'6 210 has also come along nicely as well, accounted for 5 sacks and 2 INTs. i think this will be a great game.
I agree. Clock runner didn't decide anything.
You're right, it was the turnovers inside our own 30, but we would've had the ball at their 30 with enough time for 3 more plays, since the punt return took exactly 8 secs.  I'd say it helped alot...
Contributed maybe. Should have never been in this position though.
I agree...  All we can do is get ready for next year.  Were losing 3 out of 4 receivers and our QB, we return our HB, a good receiver and most of the defense.  No doubt, we will reload and be ready for next year...  Good luck to everybody else in region 3... Especially Montgomery... Make 17-4A proud.
I hope we get an oppurtunity to play Montgomery.  But we have Central who may have something to say about that.
 17.
I think it'll be a close game. I don't think either team is going to put up 48. I think Central wins 24-21. If Central has 6 to's in this game, they will be getting out the basketball shoes. They must not turn the ball over. By the way, Humble guy, everybody on the Central defense runs a 4.7 40 or faster, including the linemen. There are 6 guys that run 4.5 or better if you were wondering just how fast their defense is. However, turnovers will decide this game.
thats fine.  We are fast too. im not going to be coy with you, we probably have the best athletes in the region this year. Remember, Humble has been playing at the 5A level for a while.  We've gone toe to toe with teams like IKE, Nimitz, and Aldine.  We know what speed looks like
 18.
Well I am going to keep it real! GO JAGS! Central has not really looked polished all year!  There are moments of briliance but it is not really pretty.  The issue starts and ends with the young QB and O-line struggles.  The fumbles are a new thing and the INT's are not the real issue.  4 of the INts came in the 3 losses when we were in 100% pass.  I went to 6 games this year and saw at least 4 picks taht were deflections off recievers hands. Our O-line is very vulnerable, especially to speed off the ends. The Young QB can be rattled when the blitz is on, what else can be expected from a Sophmore (he is REALLY good though)!  WB and Memorial being the first two games really hurt Central in the stat catagory so it is hard to guage them by stats.  PNG game did not help those statistics.  PNG straight up out coched the Jags!  They knew every play and how to exploit the defensive coverage. Central actually paced well against PNG but could not finish drives.  They left at least 14 first half points on the field (A pick in the endzone and penalties that put the at 3rd and 20+ on the second)! Once behind they were one dimensional, great game plan Indians! Humble, you will need to watch out for the running game, we are good blocking down hill.  If the QB gets going early you may be on trouble, we are a big play offense!!! Defensively we got a kid that could give you fits if he is playing up to it!  We are not a big defense but we are a give not break defense!
I watched the PNG-Central game and it gave me an idea of the type of scheme yall run, as well as the struggles you face.  I saw a ton of talent, as well as some silly mistakes.  I did get that they struggle in pass protection, and that the QB although under pressure still has great down the field vision.  He will be a special kid if he can keep from getting clobbered. Defensively, yall are small up front but hit the gaps really well.  The 3-4 to be honest hurts yall IMHO.  That scheme is generally in favor of more speed on the field, however yall have some kids on the D-line that would be playing LB in other schemes…so the speed is already there.   If im the head coach at CENT, I want to move to a system with more speed on the line with more hands in the dirt.  To be honest I feel as if the scheme benefits us,  I like the way we match up with your D-line, given that we are speed oriented O-line.  Not a whole lot of size but quick. Your Secondary is solid, speed kills in that regard.  So our offense will have another game were we will not be willing to throw  into the midst of a fast secondary. In regards to how the Central Oline and the downhill running, it will be interesting to see if yall can run on us.  I’ll admit that we haven’t yet played a team that has been willing to jam it down our throats with a back of Heards caliber.  Autrey Golden is the closest we have gotten, and to be honest…he wasn’t up to the task.   We are very very large upfront, and we will be the biggest Defensive line yall have played all year…and we are fast up front as well.  I am interested to see how we do against yalls down hill running attack. Friday couldn’t get here fast enough

Are as close to a 50/50 split between pass and run. The ratio however is slightly towards a more pass oriented offense, but not by much. Weakness, they aren’t a very strong running team contrary to the tradition of the Humble Offensive game. RB is solid, but due to a lack of run blocking makes most of his yards on his own. Offensive line is good, but inconsistent in run blocking. Offensive Key Players: QB- Kyle Washington (6’5 180)- Passing Yards: 1410 Comp %: 62 TD: 12 INT: 2 . Rushing Yards: 37-287 TD: 9 - Highlight: [Hidden Content] WR- Jaylan Zallicoffer (6’0 175)- Receptions: 22-315 yards WR- Kyle Tucker (6’1 170lbs)- Receptions: 18-286 RB- Darius Lynch (5’8 185)- All Purpose Yards: 667 TD’s: 10 Notes: Humble features 5 WR with over 100 yards, 3 over 200, and 2 over 300. Defensive Scheme: 4-2-5 Defensive Notes: Very physical defense. Strength is their Defensive line. Very large, and very quick. Secondary is fast, and the unit as a whole seems to swarm to the ball very well. Weakness is that the scheme seems to be high risk high rewards, and blown coverage’s happen. Personaly, I think Humble is a very good team and have won 8 games in a row. Humble will be tough to beat and always are very prepared. I'm pretty sure Humble has scouted  Central, so they know what kind of team they are. Should be a low scoring game . Central 16-14    GO JAGUARS !!!
The poster was FRS90, which happens to be me...hahaha. Far Right Side is what the FRS stands for. You will see the same write up here under the Humble-Stratford thread.  I plan on doing a break down of Central as soon as i can watch one more game...I have watched the PNG-Central game, but i believe that won't give me a true idea of their strengths.  However i did learn quite a bit about their schemes, tendencies, and key players.

But from what I have heard the kid has a freakin cannon. Other than that they seem to have pretty balanced O based on the stats.
I think we played against the QB Vorenkamp as a sophomore in '08 and Robicheaux(sp?). KP has some speed and some good athletes. This should be fun!
Robicheaux is a 3 year Varsity starter to my knowledge, and Vorenkamp has been on and off the field for two.  From what i gather he has been injured for the first couple years of high school.  The majority of his experience is drawn from the later part of last season. Vorenkamp has an arm, but his inability to move within the pocket causes him to make some questionable passes.  But if he stands back there, he is generally pretty good.  Most of his INT are from pressure inflicted throws. id rate him a B- passer.  Kingwood park is generally incapable of making the deep throw, one of the reasons i gathered from watching some game film of them is that the offensive line isn't able to sustain a pass blocking scheme long enough to allow him to set his feet and let it rip.  Deep throws often lead to broken up balls, or INT's for Vorenkamp.
I love how #5 fever thinks #5 should see the ball more.   I think that we are saving some plays for #5 and #20 and we will see them utilized when it's big play time.  No reason to show everything to those that are scouting the broncos.  Also, McBride needs the touches against fresh playoff caliber defenses if we want to see the Broncos continue with a balanced (and hard to defend/prepare for) offensive attack. So, what do we know about Kingwood Park other than the fact that they beat Brenham and should not be taken lightly?  Skill positions?  Standout players?  Strengths/Weaknesses?
Kingwood Park Panthers Record: 8-3 Offensive Scheme: Spread/ Pro Style set Note: Have a tendency to utilize multiple offensive sets, expect the majority to be run out of the Spread.  But a Power I and Pistol Formation (Similar to what is run out of Nevada on Power running plays) are seen from time to time.  When in the I or Ace formations, it is generally going to a ISO or Sweep to the outside...or of course play action.   When in the Pistol, it is Zone Read Option...Generally the QB will take it up the middle.   Will also occasionally run two full backs and use #31 Ragan Robichaux as the running back. (Though i tend to believe this is only against weaker opponents.) Key Players on Offense: QB- Zach Vorencamp (6'2 175)  Comp %: 54%   Yards: 1385  TD: 14  INT: 10 RB- Chris Smith(5'9 170)           Attempts: 165   Yards: 1346  TD:14   AVERAGE YPC: 8 WR-Collis Brown (6' 175)           Catches: 28    Yards: 445   TD: 4   WR- Ryan Cooglet (6'3 180)       Catches: 21    Yards: 330  TD: 6 RB/DE Ragan Robichaux (6'1 185)  Attempts: 39  Yards: 320  Average YPC: 8   HIGHLIGHTS: [Hidden Content] Note:  WR Ryan Coogler is a threat in the red zone, is one of Vorencamps go to guys when inside the 20.  Generally favoring him on  a TE Drag on the play action fakes out of the Ace or I Formation.  Rarely does K-park go Spread in the red zone.   Also, Chris smith loves to bounces things outside.  rarely follows full back inside on ISO...Generally tries to run to the edges and hope to make a defender miss. Defensive Scheme: 33 Stack Defensive notes:  Are small up front, and occasionally find the need to put 5 on the line.  Will show multiple defense looks, but their base is the 3-3-5.   Have a weak secondary, but they are quick.  Do well against the run, and have good speed throughout the defense. Key Players: FS-  Ian Ebow (5'11 175) DE- Ragan Robichaux (6'1 185) DB- Cullen Craft (5'11 170) DB- Eric Burciaga (5'11 190) Notes: Ebow and Robichaux are hands down their best defensive players.  They entire unit plays well together, they aren't very big but they have a lot of fight in them.  Cullen Craft is also their return man on special teams, has a set of jets.  He is a danger to take bring it back deep.
Is this your personal acquired info or is this from another source / Because if its your own then you you missed your calling to be a scout !
The stats are cross referenced between Chron/Max/and my own personal stats.  This is MY breakdown. appreciate the compliment.
Why would i frustrate Central fans? So far, they have seemed to be good people.
A week of hearing about Humble's superiority in every phase of the game should do the trick.  Not saying that you don't fit on the board, only that a week of your tenacious posting will give Humble a win in the battle of the boards.  This will be frustrating for the Central fans on this board.  Just sayin'
we aren't superior in every phase.  We are not equally as good on offense as we are on defense, otherwise we would of blown out Stratford.   Our Offense is efficient, with the capability of busting the big play.  We are far from explosive on offense.  as for me spouting off how superior we are?  When did i ever do that?   I haven't predicted a win or lose, because i don't know what Central looks like....i have nothing to base anything on except stats...and we all know that stats don't measure the size of a teams heart and will. im confident that my boys have as good as a shot as any...and that is where it ends.  If thats a "We're superior in every phase" mentality...then i guess i have some communication skills to work on.
Don't apologize.  Never said you were spouting off, only that you would end up frustrating some Central posters. No offense intended. Beechnut...No difference at all.  Not dogging the guy. I just think Humble is overrated, however, they can prove me wrong with two or three more wins.
finally the truth. hahahaha serious question?  Who rated us? to my knowledge we have been pretty much ignored by all major medias.  Outside of the Chron ranking us 5th in the region...i can't think of another media source that is pegging us to be Title contenders.
