1.
Bronco's will still be a good team, but there fans just think way to highly of them IMO. Elkins is a predicted 3rd place finisher in their 5A district! Not a bad showing for the Bronco's I picked Elkins by 14 and yall held them to 8! If they can hold IKE that will be impressive
Dayton should be able to beat Ike.  They have earned my respect by hanging in with a very large very fast Elkins team.  at this point im looking at Ike as a step down from Elkins, but it is possible that Ike is a lot better then what they showed during Hightower (doubt it).
 2.
I can't wait to see Diggs play. I have no doubt he's special. As long as Dayton wins, I'm good to go.
I honestly have sold all my Angleton stock, i have seen them for what they are.   below par coaching with great athletes on the field. Stewart is going to rip Angelton to shreads.  I believe Dayton has a better defense then Friendswood, and due to Angletons need to prove they are great athletes will line-up man on Daytons WR's. Honestly, id be suprised if Dayton didn't score 50 points on them and held them to 14.
 3. I thought the hire was an horrible one to begin with. This is a coach that led his offense to losing records, and due to the weakness of their district sneaks into playoff spots. Kingwood Football is a joke, as is Clevelands new head coach.
 4.

Yeah....Humble wouldn't lose to Stratford or Central.
Did Humble play week 0 ? Who do they play next ?
nope.  We don't to play anyone until Huntsville (Homecoming), and possibly Willis afterwards (We will see what they are made of). All i know is that Humble has one of the better defenses in the GHA regardless of classification, and the offense appears to have the tools to be on pace to be explosive.
 5. Surprising, to say the least. This is a program with 30 varsity football players, and not a lick of talent.  That coaching change at Cleveland must of really hurt. See Cedric reed.... You should of come to Humble this summer.
 6.
You gonna be there hum? Or you going to the Humble game?  Who is Humble playing tonight?
I have to work till 7:30 tonight, but im right up I-10 so i should be able to make it down...Lets cross our fingers i have employees that all meet their required deadlines tonight, otherwise ill be working late. Humble has a scrimmage tonight against Milby (So i am not missing much).  Ill probably go out the game next week for Humble though, because its in channelview and a little closer to the office then driving all the way back to Turner. I plan to make it out to at least 5 or 6 Lee games.  Im Excited to Watch Keith, i think he is going to be special. (I orginally was going to go to Katy vs. NS, but work has ruined my evening plans yet again)
 7.
I'm open to predictions...but not when the conflict with mine...
ok. Well, then ill take your homerism with a grain of salt.
 8.

I think Lee is a lot better then people think they are. Lee 28-14
I think Lee will lose alot of 52-50 type games. Not sure they can stop too many offenses.
Lee is going to be nice, they don't have much of a defensive front but that secondary will give teams trying to pass on them a ton of trouble.   They have a oppurtunity to improve and get some of those athletes back.
 9. I think Lee is a lot better then people think they are. Lee 28-14
 10. Elkins offensive front will dominate the Dayton front, which will control the tempo of the game. 21+ game for Elkins. 42-21 Elkins.
oh!  he's back!!  the statistician...the enrollment whiz kid... dayton will be 1-0 after this week and will leave you dominating your own front.
Never went anywhere. If you could see past your own nose, you'd be a lot more open to predictions. If you can beat Elkins, i say you romp Ike. Elkins is the best team in that district this year, IMHO.
 11.
Magnolia West is only in their third year and they have a new coach.  He coached a 2A school last year, to a 2-8 record.  I'll take KP by 10. Oh ya, I'll let you know how Huntsville looks after tonight.  New coach (their old DC) and only 2 returning starters on defense.  ;D ;)
Yeah, but didn't they have to forfeit games due to ineligable player?  i maybe thinking of another team entirely
 12. 13. I believe Dayton will get hammered by Elkins.  But will beat Ike.  Watched both teams develop over the fall practice season, and i think Elkins is too large upfront to be stopped by Dayton.  Elkins by 21+
 14. HUM's take: Kingwood Park- OFFENSE- Has a decent little offense that features more of a passing game then they featured last year.  Number 14 (Vonderkomp sp?) throwing motion is a little low on short passing game (20 yards or less).  Tends to side arm it, which will result in a lot of deflection with a solid defensive line.  #84 for Kpark proved to be the key target and is pretty impressive with his ability to get open despite being slower then the rest of the WR/TE's.  The offensive line is pretty good, not amazing, but they have some good technique are larger then i expected to see.  Running game looked good.  However a lot of what i saw has to be taken with a grain of salt because Channelview has a TON to work on. B- Defense- #31 is a fast at DE, but i believe he is overhyped.  he looks more like a HS linebacker or FS then a DE.  He technique is good, but a solid offensive line will shut him out every time as he extremely reckless in his reads.  he will often over pursue.  The Dline as a whole doesn't get very much penetration, even for a Dline that is attempting to play a sideline to sideline style defense.  pursuit down the line was solid, and was able to shut out most of Channelviews attempts to get their play makers in open field near the flats or on the screens they love to run. IF an offense desides to run straight at Kpark, and they have a decent back....they are going to win.  Wearing that defense down doesn't appear to be too hard.  Secondary is ok, but they are not very fast.  They got beat alot but due to the lack of an CV offensive line the recievers timing with the QB was off.  Any team capable of connecting with their wideouts at least 50% of the time will beat Kpark by 14-21pts easy. Grade: C+ Channelview Offense-  The offense biggest weakness is a lack of an offensive line, they aren't really even bad just that they are weak at tackle.  Often times #2 was forced out of the pocket to throw or run, and in order to have a successful offense you have to be able to give your QB time.  When Kpark stunted the DE's inside, they had better luck with the passing game.  Running game is actually pretty solid, but they rotate between #31 (justin hicks) and #20.  If they leave #31 in i believe they will see a stronger offensive showing.  QB looked to have trouble throwing on the move, which was a have too because the tackles for CV are horrendous.  WR #1 and #7 are extremely athletic, however #7 seemed to do better on the short routes opposed to the deeper ones....he dropped some key ones.  same story for #1. Grade: C- Defense- BAD.  Dline, is horrible.  They are too upright, good size at Dend though. the line would get blown up by Kparks offensive line, and the LB's would get caught in blocks...allowing plenty of room to through, and huge running lanes.  The secondary isn't bad, but had to over compensate for the lack of run defense.  Grade:D- K-park will make the playoffs, but at 3rd or 4th. Channelview will come in last again. next week: K-park vs. Magnolia West-  MW by 14pts CV vs. Humble-  Humble by 35+

You have to be the most vicious, maniacal poster I have ever seen.  Really, I try to avoid reading any post with that baby smoking a cigarette because you're just out there to piss off everybody.  You act like Barber's Hill is this big, bad-A team that crushes everybody, and last time I checked they went 0-3 vs. teams from the triangle last year.  Really, you are coming down hard on HIGH SCHOOL kids, and you're coming down hard on a team that just doubled their opponents' yards.  An opponent that-by the way-donkey stomped Barber's Hill last year and returns 9 defensive starters.  And not to make excuses, but both of their tds were off LCM fumbles in close to red zone, and LCM had a td called back because of another stupid block in the back.  But really, no hard feelings to GCM or Barber's Hill in general
You've never read my posts have you?
 16.
Yep. RSS needed someone to play for Homecoming.
::) i hope our teams meet in the playoffs.  It would be our pleasure to get yalls basketball season started earlier for you.
 17.

why doesnt sterling go ahead and play GCM and BH? 5a schools play 4a schools all the time...its local, they would be fun games, less traveling expense...bigger crowds. It cant be just that Minyard is scared to lose to a 4a school is it? from what i heard it is going to be a long season for the ranger boys.
RSS is in a "no win" situation if they play too many 4A schools. If they win, they are supposed to as a 5A school. If they lose, then they are losing to 4A schools. GCM wanted to schedue RSS this year. RSS said no.
Sterling had no problem scheduling Humble, which is a 4a team.  I know we had GCM scheduled and they left us high and dry for LCM, which ended up with us getting Channelview (thanks)

I think they went like 2-8 last year and are picked to come in 7th out of a 10 team district. Nederland should look good against them. The big test will be the scrimmage ya'll have with Dayton. Good Luck
Marshall roughly has 1400 kids and plays on the 5a level....you think it would be a bit hard to compete with schools that have over 2100 kids to your 1400?
 19.
DE's: Ben Goodman - 6' 3" - 245 /  Micheal Jolivet - 6' 5" - 220 DTs': Caleb Bluett - 6' 2" - 255 / Treshawn Newman - 5' 10" - 205
That is pretty solid.... How would you characterize them as a unit? Strong, fast, aggressive? all of the above?  What are their weakness in your eyes. For Humble, i think its overall experiance.  Very talented, but they still do some stupid things like attach high.....
Ya, I know we had to play the 2 leading rushers in 4A...  Jonathan Gray and Leroy Dobbins.  Dobbins doesn't get the publicity the other top backs do, thanks to his size, but he's not just speed.  They give him the ball 30+ times a game.  Teams stacked the box so much to slow him down, it led to the coach's son putting up that kind of TD/INT ratio. (19/1)
You do realize that Dobbins is running behind an almost entirely new offensive line?   I expect him to do well, but he will not have a year like last year.
True, but he'll still be really good.  His vision and breakaway sped will help him alot though.
Not doubting his ability, but the success last year is largely because of a solid offensive line.  Dobbins is a difficult guy to block for, and it will take some meshing for them to become customed to him.  He doesn't wait for the line, he'll just go.  To me that is his biggest flaw, a lack of patience behind the line of scrimmage....behind a solid line, its not a problem...but behind new guys, i could see the first 2 games being a learning experiance for them and him.
 21. Obviously, we are all prone to play the biased approach when it comes to the opinions of our home town teams.  However, i would like to see who gets yalls vote as the top Defensive Line in the state of Texas...don't care what class, just out of pure curiosity. Of course, im going with the homer pick.  I was out at practice on Saturday morning to get my season tickets, and watched practice from a distance and was utterly shocked at how incredibly athletic and massive our Defensive line was. Humble is brining back what could be the best defensive line in the state of Texas.  DE- Hill 6'6 210, DT- Boyette 6'3 275lbs, DT- Ezell 6'2 255lbs, DE- Mark Armstead 6'1 215lbs... From a physical standpoint, i don't think it gets much better then that.....And i watched them scrimmage and they are by far one of the most athletic defensive lines ive seen since 2003's NS team. I know that Brenham has a pretty stout D-line as well, ancored down by M. Brown....Who else does Brenham have?
 22.
Now that's a pretty good looking poll but I'd put WB ahead of NS.This site mentions #5 Katy Tigers sr.standout DE Nick Narcisse will miss this year w/a treatable form of throat cancer.Prayers out to this young man and may he be blessed w/healing.
DE Narcisse has gone through his last bit of treatment and is in remission from what ive heard.  He just needs the doctors ok to start playing football, don't be surprised to see him ont he field.
