Instead they want to argue who is better, so one can fictionally thump their chests until game day when the preconceived notions are obliterated by truth. ~ Whats irritating is your monster ego - and your oxy-moronic statements I never heard anybody say we were better than Ike. And aren't these boards meant to be for opposing teams to argue which team is better.( not according to you )You and your x-5a buds come on here over and over and over bragging about all of the ocean of athletes Ike has like were supposed be intimidated or something and when were not you call us insecure.  Lets talk about that real discussion between the mis-matches - funny you never brought them up one time ? ( and no coaches and discipline don't count )
My monster ego?  I am arguing against the opinion that Dayton was slightly over-matched, and the idea that the athletic discrepancy between the two schools was much larger then was being presented by the opposing view. They only reason i inserted my view on the topic was because of i have seen Ike play...been watching them for the better part of 15 years...and am fairly familar with their style of play. Ike isn't a team that is a monster machine, they haven't been truly good since 2003.  They are merely a shadow of what they were.  Dayton can win the game, and i think i have made that clear in previous posts....The only thing i saw as faulty thinking on the behalf of the Dayton faithful is the insecure stance that Dayton can match up with anyone athletically....it simple just isn't true. I don't expect you to be intimidated....you are Dayton.  No one should scare you, and i am fully aware of that.  Dayton plays great football, and the fact that some of your fans are regurgitation this sort of insecurity in criticism is odd.   If i were to say the same things to Katy, their fans would say "You are right....But We are Katy" .   If Dayton is truly as good as yall believe and truly as good as your record demonstrates....Then let it go.   You are Dayton, stop acting like Port Arthur.

Why shouldn't Ike beat Dayton ? Dayton beats Humble. JMO.
Dayton Beats Humble?  Maybe.   Really no way to really draw an comparison to the two, neither have had similar opponents.  It really is just a matter of speculation on either side if you were to make that a serious assertion. I can look at Humble and Dayton and see potential match up problems for either side.  Dayton has better coaching, im not really sure by how much because again their really isn't a similar opponent to do even a poor comparison.  Humble has better athletes, larger participation numbers apparently, and run a defensive scheme that gives offenses like Dayton trouble. Dayton runs a pretty solid defensive scheme that i could see hampering the lack luster Humble offense ive seen as of late.  Dayton executes the flats really well, and that is where Humble has been making it's yardage.   If they have sufficient speed flying to the flats, i could see it turning to a game that favored Dayton.  However, if they don't have the athletic ability to keep our speed from taking over the game...then it could get out of control quickly.   Humble like any team that has an abundance of skill players has the potential to break big plays at the sign of a mental lapse. It would be a good game...

 9.
The point of the matter is that not very many teams in the entire country can match up with Eisenhower's athletes. To argue that Ike does not have much better athletes than their opponents 99.9% of the time is to just be intentionally obtuse or a huge homer. Get past that part of the argument and go on to the who will actually win part. I've found this forum enjoys getting caught up in the wrong argument. The 4a being as good as 5a argument being one example and Dayton having comparable athletes to Eisenhower being another example. It really, really reeks of an inferiority complex. It's much easier to get a good discussion going when both sides can admit to their weaknesses and strengths. Heck...we may as well say that Port Arthur Memorial has just as good of a program and discipline in place as Katy. Katy better coached?  No way, PAM is better coached. Katy players are more disciplined?  No way, PAM players are more disciplined.... Let's not give in on any point. Don't admit being weaker in any phase of any sport. Dayton has the Tradition and coaching to beat Ike and Angleton. Crosby would lose to Ike and probably to Angelton...probably keep it close though. Lee would lose to both by 14pts or more. everyone else pretty much gets slaughtered.
 12.
Hum398 to set the record straight from 2005-2010(6 yrs)Ald.Ike has had 14 players(4-DB-1 CB-1 QB-1 RB-3 DL-2 WR-2 LB)on the Texas top 300 list.Dayton had 6 on that list and Brenham had more than both put together so since all I have is time to kill I love to get the facts from records.I can list the Ike players if you'd like.Ike has 1-2010*Dayton 1* ::) ;) ;D
That doesn't prove anything. Im not saying Dayton has NO talent, or even that they don't have some of the best talent.  But top to bottom Ike is superior in the athletic department. While Dayton puts maybe 2-3 kids into college every year...Ike puts about 4-5 times that. and Brenham is a great program as well...but still has nothing on the number of athletes a school like Ike puts out.
 13. Last year Payton Ploch was All Greater Houston Player of the year ( that includes 5a )  In 08 AJ Dugat Parade All American and Cody Green started as QB for Nebraska's against Baylor. Tony Hill last year second team all state this year already  D.Wright among the best 300 in TX by Dave Campbell just don't see us being completely over matched maybe some, but not alot our conditioning program will easily make up the diff and then some.
Man, yall Dayton fans are a delusional bunch. Ike averages 10-15 kids that receive scholarships from Div 1, Div. 2, Div III, and Jr. Colleges ever year.  The strength of a programs athletes aren't how many kids they have going Div. 1, or how many Texas to 300 kids... It is the depth and quality of depth. in 2006 Ike but 20+ kids in college....That means 20 seniors went on to play college ball.  Are you trying to tell me that Dayton does the same? no.... Look....Dayton is going to be able to compete with Ike based on the fact that they have a coach that is worth the money they pay him.  Ike has the athletes, and a coaching staff that is not worth the money they are paid.  Ike stays in games for one reason and one reason only since the departure of Carson...and that is their athletic ability.  If a team neutralizes their athletic ability by matching it....the other team will win if they are even just slightly more disciplined.

Dayton played them a couple of years ago and I talk with their posters year around on other sites . Dayton might be a little over-matched against Ike and that's to be expected against a 5a team, but to say they will be completely over-matched is over the top. To be honest I don't know if Dayton wins or not but I do know it will be a dog fight and Ike better not underestimate us !
Dude...Athletically, Dayton is way over-matched.  They don't play games with the type of talent they spit out.  They sign 10-15 college football players a year(not just Division I)....some years putting out as much as 20.  They are bigger, faster and stronger then just about everyone they play...That includes North Shore.  Then you talk about how absolutely vicious those kids are in pads.  Remember that scene in friday night lights of Carter...Meet Houston's version of that. This has nothing to do with 5a...they field 40-50 varsity football players depending on the year... Now down the beltway you have a team like Nimitz, who is as talented...but their is just something about the Black and Gold....those kids can ball. Dayton should be able to compete, but overcoming their athleticism when you have NEVER faced a team like that is going to be a something those Dayton boys will have to get over pretty quick.  You can't simulate it in practice, unless you got it.
 20. Ike is a different Animal then NS(not in a good way...very undisciplined) ...They are far more athletic then 99% of the teams they play...When they play a team of the same talent and athletic level it will come down to who executes better... When they play a team that has tremendous discipline and tremendous depth, they will lose unless they are as disciplined (however...Ike is a undisciplined aggressive team that will often lose to teams that out execute and are able to keep fresh legs). Dayton has a shot, but don't be surprised if you walk away saying "That is the dirtiest game that i have ever watched".....and in 2011 when you go to thorne...watch out for the batteries and turkey legs...they like to throw them.
Summer Creek HS is an Humble ISD school, it drew its talent from Humble and Atascocita.  The Split moved Humble down, but the majority of the Talent at Summer Creek comes form Atascocita. About 200 kids were taken from Humble (who has had about 2100 kids over the last three years).  Atascocita lost about 800 kids.
 22.
Generally speaking, after about 1900-2000 kids...programs seem to exibit a maximum of 300-350 kids in a football program.  You won't really see your Mega Schools do much better then that.  As far as pure numbers go, if you are around 2000 kids with about 25% participation you have the numbers to compete across the board... The numbers after about 2000 are really testament to talent levels.

 24.
Plano ISD has 3 high schools for 11th-12th: Plano (2597), Plano West(1903), and Plano East (2721). They have 5 Secondary schools for 9th - 10th: Clark (1354), Jasper (1948), Shepton (1600), Williams (2006) and Vines (1281). Those numbers they submit to the UIL are somewhat deceiving.
They aren't really deceiving.  Plano HS uses a system very similar to North Shore (Senior Campuses, and Underclassmen campuses)...these are designed to be Mega High Schools.  These smaller feeding school act as tanks to better create learning environments for the appropriate age group. The 9th-10th grade campuses for PEHS are Clark and Jaspar...They are still PEHS as a collective...It just like the 9th grade centers you saw pop up all over the place in the 90's...but taken to an extreme. using your logic, North Shore doesn't actually have 4400+ kids...they only have about half that...as the two campuses are about 3 miles apart.
 25. ; [Hidden Content]] [Hidden Content]; [Hidden Content]; ] My biggest comment is on 19-4a, It tells you all sorts of things that North Forest High is down by as much as it is... two years ago they started with 2038 Kids, now they are sitting at 1625.  Usually drops that significant are attributed to splits, but after a merger the school is still losing kids like crazy.  at this pace in 4 years they will be a 3a school, but more probable they will be closing their doors as a district. Also, in 5a...Plano East recorded 6171 kids... That is such a large discrepancy.  2054-6171... If Plano East had any sort of coaching they would take advantage of the pure numbers they have...although, it seems that most schools usually max out at 300-350 kids in a program.
