  1. My boy DBD is always stirring the pot. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  2. Those old LU teams made me want to be a Cardinal when most of the kids I grew up with were dreaming of SFA, McNeese or SHSU (if not bigger schools). It never happened because I left the state, but I've always loved the program. I don't know what the solution is. Where's the revenue and fundraising that will add to the budget? How do they keep the local kids home? It just seems so far uphill...especially when times are so tough.
  3. It didn't take long for Toby Talk to take over this thread. I hope he gets a job soon so only the fans of that school will roast him instead of the rest of us. πŸ˜„
  4. I know that being a Jasper guy means we shouldn't like anything about you guys, but Coach T is great. Every now and then when Jasper has had open weeks. I would listen to your games on KOGT and I loved the postgame interviews.
  5. I'll let you play with them and stay out of it. It's kind of pointless to me to keep talking about someone that's not in Jasper anymore. Do your thing. Go Dawgs!!
  6. I have questioned what they were doing at times when the situations in games dictated more urgency, but I never said anything about them giving up or quitting. Barbay didn't always adapt the offense to be able to come back in games. We're all digressing at this point. He's gone and we need to move on...
  7. Jasper lost their OC right before two-a days if I remember correctly (who went back to the Spread from the Slot/Wing T that we had been running) and that along with a lack of game breakers and physicality on offense made that side of the ball a constant sore spot for us. I don't think anybody quit. LCM was more physical on defense than they have been in years and they just beat us. End of story.
  8. Judging by what you guys were saying in the preseason, LU had players that could compete at that level before injuries and Covid blew it up. I'm confident that Brooks can get more talent on the roster going forward and that they'll be in good position to be in the upper half of the WAC consistently. People will disagree, but he'll figure it out.
  9. Fair enough. It's not normal for them to fatten up their record on bad teams.
  10. I like Arizona for two reasons - their path isn't as challenging as the other #1 seeds and they're playing really well. Tommy Lloyd just might be the guy that gets them to the title game every 6-8 years. He's young and a great coach.
  11. How is Silsbee that low? πŸ€”
  12. Being in the WAC should make LU more visible and viable for prospective candidates. Every coach in the program will be on notice, if they're not already. There's a huge opportunity to improve quickly with the right person.
  13. Appreciate you, Mike! Congrats on your retirement! Have a few cold ones in honor of the Dawgs!!🀣🀣
  14. They say football is a copycat sport. It's amazing that we never saw this again. πŸ˜‚
  15. I was listening when he said that. Classic line...
  16. Spring training will begin on March 18 and the 162-game regular season starts on April 7. Great news for all of us seamheads!
  17. Montavien Hunt might have broken the record if he hadn't gotten hurt in 2018. He was so good that season...
  18. Nice! I wish I could have heard some of those. There was about a long stretch when I couldn't get access to any of the games and by the time I did, Coach Brack wasn't calling games anymore.
  19. This should be fun... Back in the late 80's in Jasper, Coach Brack would say "You gotta love it!" while we were dying during conditioning drills. I heard some kid say something about him not moving in ten minutes. That kid didn't love that at all after Coach got done with him. 😁
  20. Crumedy's gonna win big. It may take a couple of years, but I think we're gonna be one of the best programs in the region really soon. I love that he is demanding excellence already...
  21. I haven't seen him in years, but he was like another dad to me and a lot of other kids back then. He loved coaching in Jasper.
  22. I wouldn't want them to be unprepared either. Wanting it to be Week Zero includes all of the work being done to that point, too.
  23. That game with us last year was a slobberknocker!
  24. Happy birthday whenever it is, but I'd be cool if it was Week Zero! πŸ˜„
  25. I agree with you. I wasn't in Jasper yet when Coach Walkoviak was hired, but he was really young (29) when he got the job and hadn't been in coaching long. He obviously did more there than anyone ever thought he would in 1977. Anyway, Coach Crumedy was going to get a shot somewhere eventually and I'm happy that he's coming home. This is great for everyone involved.
