Actually, TCU just fired Patterson. Surratt should at least be on their radar.

Is there a college job that Surratt is interested in? I think he'd be great at that level, but I admire what he has done in Carthage.

I don't know. Looks like we'll get China Spring again. They're better than they were last year.

They're extremely well-coached on that side of the ball. Jasper mixed in some of the of the Wing-T that they had run over the last few years also, which kept Center's offense off the field. Our running game was better than it's been all season. I think most of our fans knew we'd make the playoffs (mostly because the district isn't very good), but our defense will make us a tough out.

I agree. If we had any offense at all, we'd be 6-1 right now and a darkhorse going into the postseason.

Malcolm's a really good coach. I just hope he stays in Jasper. Someone's gonna offer him a HC job if he can keep running out defenses like this one. I know we were critical of the offense that we ran the past few years, but in hindsight we would have been better off keeping it with this group. It wouldn't be as good as it has been, but we would score a little more. I think we're only averaging 11 ppg right now, but we're only allowing 9. That's crazy and it's possible that we could shut out either of the two teams left on the schedule.

It's a good opportunity to get right before the playoffs start. The biggest thing is for the O-line to get better. We'll go as far as they can take us.

Rusk came in averaging 43 points/game and Jasper shut them out.

7-0 after the third quarter. Jasper's defense is doing a great job once again. I think the Dawgs need another score to win this game.

Jasper is up 7-0 at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. I'm a little frustrated because the quality of Jasper's simulcast is terrible. It keeps cutting out. I wish they would just go back to radio only.

Yep. He ran that old veer offense to death and won with great defense. Most of the staff was with him the whole time, too. That continuity was good for us and the health of the program.

Shout out to the best coach Jasper has ever had...Gene Walkoviak. Early in his tenure there, only the district champ made the playoffs and Hebert was the best team in the area. I don't remember who their coach was, but that man probably cost us a shot at a couple of really deep playoff runs. I love talking old school football. There were so many good teams back then in 9-4A. I'll always miss those days.
