Let me know what you disagree with...these are my rankings.
Also, had a story in Sunday's newspaper about football players who, like many in this area, are still displaced despite the return of school, football:

FYI - I will be at this game tweeting live updates and stats.

I'm writing about how the condensed 22-5A schedule is going to make things challenging for players, coaches and fans alike for midweek games.
Ozen, for example, has to travel to Lee on Wednesday and will have less than six hours between arrival home and Thursday treatment.
Just looking to talk w/ 22-5A fans who might not be able to go to Wednesday's games (or Tuesday's next week of Monday's the following week) or have had to switch plans in order to go because of the altered schedule.
As always, it's easiest to send me a PM on here or shoot me a text on my cell: (602)-577-1472
Thanks everyone.

Danny, I assume that Harrison's $17,000 bump from yesterday to today was based upon you getting updated numbers rather than PAISD realizing in one day that it may be underpaying it's coach.
Kind of. The $81,000 is Harrison's base salary but he called and told me with bonuses and other stipends he's up to $98.000 annually.

Cornel also let on Nederland vs. West Orange-Stark may happen this season after all. Teams have the same bye week and Cornel and Monte Barrow have discussed setting it up. Nothing set in stone but something to look for in the coming weeks.

This article is circulated every year and I am never really sure why. Maybe Danny can shed some light.
What EC said, plus it's good at giving context to how coaches are paid/rewarded for job performance. For example, Cornel Thompson got a $13,000 raise this year.

I've emailed Coach Nelson, so hopefully we'll have that answer soon.
Yes, game is on the 27th. The two teams decided that after that schedule was passed out, which is why it doesn't show it there.

Another factor would be the lack of dance partners. After this week, I know of only 2 schools that won't have games and that is because they have both cancelled 9/15 games. The only game that isn't already set that is in jeopardy the Bridge City/WO-S game next Friday.
Concern I heard (and I'm sure Ashly too) with scheduling something next week was that the compressed district schedule is frontloaded with short weeks. Ozen coach Taylor said he's unlikely to play a game next week because his team, which is smallest in district, is playing 4 games in 17 days (including against Central) before their bye. Wants his players to stay as fresh as possible before that stretch.

Again, this is incorrect. Literally just got off the phone with West Brook coach Eric Peevey, who said West Brook has ZERO plans to scrimmage right now. Players' houses are starting to get flooded and Peevey lives in Bridge City, so he's been unable to get to school.

Game cancelled. PNG will scrimmage West Brook @ 2:00 on Saturday at PNG
This is incorrect. West Brook has no plans of scrimmaging PN-G.

Central and West Brook won't play Friday, per WB coach Eric Peevey. Decision will be made at noon whether or not to play Saturday but it's doubtful. Neither team has scrimmaged or practiced all week. Expect this game to be canceled (Jasper at Ozen too).

I was told its been cancelled.
Yes, game is canceled. Jasper HFC Barbay still would like to find an opponent up north to host this Friday if possible.

I truly understand why they're picking PAM to win district. I've watched them all play . And I believe PAM is more talented then any of them.but I truly believe one of the biggest factors is dat they have to go to png.and I watching PAM last year get punched in the mouth by vidor and they couldn't stop them.it was all abt heart.and they didn't respond. With the crowd behind png at home.with that qb. I can't see them losing any district games.
Yeah, I covered that PAM-Vidor game last season and I agree PAM was a bit overwhelmed. I listed the PAM-PNG as one of the games to watch because it could very much be the game that decides who wins district.
