  1. Cards take game 1 with a final of 8-2 over Northwestern State. Now 13-6 in conference and 32-8 overall. Still 2 games in back of SELA and McNeese but gain a game on HCU and UTRGV. SELA and UTRGV are matched up this weekend.
  2. Easy there with the kinda positive post. You Ole Softy. YOU!
  3. Midweek win over Sam Houston. LU scores a touchdown in the 2nd but misses the PAT, puts a TD with a 2pt conversion and a field goal in the 7th, and gets a Canadian 1 pt play in the 9th "quarter." Final was 18-9.
  4. 16-5 win. Cards get a much needed sweep. Now 12-6 in conference. 2 games back of what would be a 3-way tie at the top if Northwestern holds on to a 3 run lead against HCU (a few innings to go in that game). Still have 2 of those teams ( SELA and HCU) left on the schedule.
  5. Cardinals play one ugly game! BUT, rally for 5 in the 9th for back to back walk off wins. 9-8 final.
  6. Lamar beats Pine Bluff 3-1. Not much on offense tonight. Nicholls comes to town this weekend.
  7. Personal? What's the story?
  8. Arkansas should have some players arrested. What they did to Missouri has to be considered abuse. That had to be one of the most lopsided 3 game series in SEC history. For any of you wondering about the above....Arkansas put up 51 runs over the series and did it as the home team. Thus, the 51 runs occurred in only 18 innings of offense as they never batted after the 6th in all 3 games.
  9. Fall in the finale 4-2. Have a midweek game against Arkansas Pune Bluff followed by a home series against Nicholls next weekend. A sweep will be very helpful in keeping the Birds hopes alive of a top 2 seed in order to host in the first round of the conference tournament.
  10. Another walkoff winner. 6-5. Skinner with an oppo line drive to the wall as Evans (fridays night's hero) was off on the pitch from first. That's 11 in a row.
  11. Walk off in bottom of 10 with 2 outs. LU beats Arlington 3-2. LU had several shots at big innings, but pitching held up until the offense came through. WINDY to say the least. Play 2 on Sunday due to pending weather.
  12. I sure hope this holds! But, I'm not as well educated as laptop and backer.
  13. Able to add any detail to this statement?
  14. Baseball America has SELA and UTRGV getting in at present. Big surprise in the projection is both are 3 seeds.
  15. Utilized Boyd's World for stating 6 teams in the top 100 RPI. The NCAA website has a different list that actually has 7 and did so last week as well. If the conference RPI remains strong, the conference has a real shot at 2 teams in the post season. Great chance if the regular season champion has a strong record and RPI, but doesn't win the conference tournament. Could use some midweek wins over some quality programs and the Sunbelt and other historically strong leagues remain below the SLC in the conference RPI.
  16. Hey, hey, hey. We got Uncle Spidey being at least somewhat positive in the baseball thread at times. He's a work in progress.
  17. As of today 6 schools are in the top 100 RPI. That's quite impressive.
  18. Lamar takes game 1 against UIW 8-5 in 10 innings. The gametracker shows a score of 1-0 in the bottom of 2. Not sure if it is stuck in game 1 or if they are playing 2 today. Not seeing anything about a double header on either universities' website or X account. Thinking the gametracker is off and off bad.
  19. LU defeats Rice 2-1. Cardinals now 20-7 on the season. Head to San Antonio to face UIW this weekend.
  20. Cardinals sweep Islanders. 8-0 today.
  21. Lamar with 12-6 win. Go for the sweep at 1 tomorrow
  22. Odds are you are correct. The SLC has had a few seasons though with a couple teams getting in. When it has happened the regular season champ loses out in the tournament, but has had a tremendous year with a decent strength of schedule. Not often, but not unheard of.
  23. Cards beat Corpus 2-0 last night. Game 2 tonight at 5. Note: As of last night's game, the SLC has the 6th highest RPI (Boyd's World) in the nation. That is better than the American, Sunbelt (big deal in my eyes), and CUSA. The Sunbelt has had six College World Series appearances among its schools. Yes, some were years ago.
