Well at least the season ends with AggiesAreWe and my Uncle Spidey exchanging pleasantries. I honestly get entertained by you two. Uncle Spidey is my favorite grumpy old fart. Forgive me for it, but actually look forward to your posts. After every loss walking out of the stadium my father and I state that we wonder what you will have to say.

Bad tournament to say the least. Fall 12-5 to Corpus. Worst game of the season was the last game of the season. Was not pleasant to watch.

LU v Corpus at 1. UTRGV and HCU at 6. Other bracket. Host and 1 seed, SELA, falls to UNO. McNesse loses to Northwestern.

Couldn't tell you. All I know is HCU put up a massive amount of hits and the score could have been much worse. Side note: UTRGV's stadium is not only the best venue in the SLC, it is by far the best. Hot today, but not unbearable.

Forecasts for Thursday and Friday in Edingurg have the temperature reaching 100° from various weather sites. Game 1 win would be huge in order to move to the evening game on Friday and of course being in the winners portion of the bracket. All Texas teams in Edinburg and all Louisiana teams in Hammond. Likely headed to UTRGV as LU will be the 3 seed and face HCU again in the first game of the tourney. SELA win over Nicholls solidifies the above and they presently lead 15-1 in the top of the 6th at Nicholls. See all 2 of you in Edinburg.

Decent crowd tonight as Hunsaker and Havard threw a combined1 hit shutout.

Softball/Baseball are series sports. The only way a 1 game series should exist is if both coaches agree to it and in lower classifications. Still wouldn't be a fan of it though.

Cards fall 7-4 today. Have a mid-week in Austin followed by a final series at home against HCU. After today's games SELA is in great position to hold the #1 seed and UTRGV with a good shot at the #2. Where will Lamar be for the first round of the confence tournament? Next weekend will determine that.

Was typing as you posted. Pending the outcome of SELA vs HCU, the Cards will be either 1 or 2 games back from the lead in the conference. Will at least sit only 1 game back of the 2 seed, but that is McNeese and UTRGV with the both holding the tiebreaker. Edit: The SLC website has the standings ridiculously wrong as always and the usually reliable D1 baseball is off as well. UTRGV is a 1/2 game up on McNeese, but has only 3 games left in conference. The remaining top 5 teams have 6 games left to play in conference.

Still curious why and include myself in this statement. Why do we debate those with a disdain for reality to push their own disdain for those who don't agree that they hold the morale high ground. Fall 2-1 while playing 10 innings last night. Fall 3 games behind SELA (play them still), remain 2 games behind McNeese (McNeese), and 1 game behind HCU (final conference series). Need to jump 2 of those and UTRGV to host the 1st round of the revamped conference tournament. 10 conference games left.

Cards take game 1 with a final of 8-2 over Northwestern State. Now 13-6 in conference and 32-8 overall. Still 2 games in back of SELA and McNeese but gain a game on HCU and UTRGV. SELA and UTRGV are matched up this weekend.

Midweek win over Sam Houston. LU scores a touchdown in the 2nd but misses the PAT, puts a TD with a 2pt conversion and a field goal in the 7th, and gets a Canadian 1 pt play in the 9th "quarter." Final was 18-9.

16-5 win. Cards get a much needed sweep. Now 12-6 in conference. 2 games back of what would be a 3-way tie at the top if Northwestern holds on to a 3 run lead against HCU (a few innings to go in that game). Still have 2 of those teams ( SELA and HCU) left on the schedule.
