Extremely disappointing weekend as the Cards get swept. Drop the finale 5-2. Scored only 5 runs in the series. Head to Rice midweek and then face SFA in a "time to get right" series next weekend at home.

Birds get shut out and drop game 2 against UTRGV 2-0. UTRGV has what in pictures appears do be a very nice stadium. It once held an independent minor league team for the Texas-Louisiana League and a few other leagues as the team in Edinburg tried to remain "alive." The university now owns the stadium and draws quite large crowds especially for the SLC. Cards need a win today or start at the conference schedule 0-3.

LU gets run ruled by UTRGV 13-3 in 6 and 1/2. Start conference 0-1.

As someone who holds a doctoral degree and works at a university, i must say you are CORRECT! For some people the degree they obtain is about as useful as a warm bucket of vomit and the intellect of many college students leaves much to be desired.

The conference has 11 baseball teams and they all play each other thus the early start to conference games. Once they start the only break for weekend series is UTA as each team will have an "open" weekend in conference due to the odd number of teams. When I first saw the schedule I was surprised at such an early start as well, but like that there isn't an unbalanced schedule and all teams will face the entire conference.

Cards down 4-0 despite out hitting Albany heading into the bottom of the 8th. The birds put up 7 runs and close it out in the top of the 9th with a final of 7-4. Now 5-1 on the season.

Cards dropped game 2 on Saturday, but take the rubber match today. Sit at 2-1 as the home opener is Tuesday against the Bison of North Dakota State.

Cards put up 17 runs on 15 hits. Staring pitcher (Havard) went 5 giving up 1 run on 4 hits while 4 relievers pitched an inning each giving up no hits. Final 17-1.

About 3 and 1/2 hours and the Cards start the 2025 season on the road at Cal State Bakersfield. Hoping for a nice start!

The schedule for each team posted on their individual athletic website shows 6:00. Also, showing 6:00 on Lamar softball twitter (X). Game is sold out according to the X feed.

Return 2 preseason 1st team all conference position players (catcher and 1st base). Most of the other position players will be new to the roster or guys that saw limited action. The biggest position player lost would likely be the shortstop. Lost 2 high quality weekend starting pitchers and the pitching coach to Baylor. Do return a preseason 1st team arm though. Several transfers will fill holes including a preseason 2nd team 3rd baseman. Took in over 10% of HCU's roster from last season with 5 transfers. One will likely be a starting outfielder. Not sure how much the others will contribute. Also, my Uncle Spidey and that Aggie fellow will be back to entertain us all. At leat I'm hoping for that!
