About a week ago

Very unusual year.  Saw fewer homes decorated.  Only had one salesperson tell me Merry Christmas, and he appeared middle eastern, or perhaps Indian.  Have we changed that much?  Lord, I hope not.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you.

He struggled to get reps in aggyland.  He’d really get buried at DBU, especially with the young studs they have in the secondary.  But they like his brother so who knows if they will take him in.  

Not taking anything away from Coach Boute.  He's a great coach, no doubt.  I'm not totally sure how many state championships he has; I'm thinking it is one, with Ozen.   That team had one distinct advantage, they had a 6'10" 260 lb man child named Kendrick Perkins.  No other team in 4A, now 5A, had a player anywhere close to that size.  Lincoln had Bosh, but I am not sure he was around the year Open won state.  
As for the coaching selection and hiring of coach Green, that's a done deal.  I am sure they did their due diligence and they came up with the best coach for the job.  Hindsight is always better than foresight.  
One of the coach's biggest problems is he has to deal with this message board, because it gives voice to all the negative armchair ADs and coaches in the 409 area.  He didn't have that problem at his previous job.

Longview QB is legit. 430 yards passing, almost 500 yards total offense by himself. He was the difference.

Elia is going to have to start hitting these guys.

Well, somebody said earlier that they thought Warren and Kountze were on about the same level.  I don’t know.. just thinking that if there’s any truth to that then they might be in the mix as well.

EC went a little cold offensively down the stretch and OF hit a few threes. OF got the lead down to 6 or 7 points but it never felt like EC lost control of the game. 

Free throws are much improved from the last few years. OF will be fine, they will give a lot of teams problems. 

Didn't see that one on our schedule.

Accept for Westbrook and newton, the rest of us in this area is waiting on this.

In my humble opinion, the two best teams played in the second semifinal (EC/Grapeland).  Hopefully EC can get enough of a breather to play one more.  Tough to play a game on short rest after a double OT game like that.

No, Friday will be fine!

IMO, which obviously doesn't matter, I would have a hard time putting those kids on the floor today after playing their guts out last night on the football field till 10:30. Then not getting home till probably 1am. I just think they need some rest. That's just me.
This game is a non district game. Nothing on the line but pride. I would like them to get their feet wet next Tuesday against Bridge City at home. District ball game.
