  1. Durn sad story.  Reminds me (ever notice when something happens old people say, REMINDS me) of this book, "No Country for Old Men" (made a movie of it).  Anyway, the Sheriff is reflecting on all the bad things happening since we've gone drug crazy. He thinks, "If I was the Devil, there's nothing better to drag mankind down than drugs".

I think the old Sheriff was right.

  2. Lol funny guys I never heard anyone blame the confederate flag for the murders only pointing out the flag is a symbol of hate and prejudice.  But I understand have to make up stories things are not going you guys way....  carry on.

Once again I'd like to point out that to 57% of Americans the flag IS NOT perceived as a symbol of hate & prejudice.  While I do understand why some think of it that way, that's no reason to "make it go away".  If we remove all things that any particular group of people don't like, there won't be much left.

Heck, I bet there's people who'd like to get rid of po dum rite wing peepell lik me lol.

  3. Maybe so, but I will guarantee when the final battle is fought, Israel will be last man standing.

I'm sure many will scoff at this post, but one has only to look at the Six Day War to believe this may be the case.  The five muslim countries who attacked Israel had twice the men, three times the aircraft and tanks

When the smoke cleared, Israel had less than a thousand dead, while the attackers lost over 18,000, and left the desert covered with hundreds of blown up and abandoned tanks.

Is this Devine Intervention, or is the Israeli Army THAT good?  I don't know for sure, but the facts should make one wonder.

  4. Does anybody here really believe that evolution does not occur over millions of years?

If this was directed at my comments, I was using Evolution to prove my assertion that most gays, but not all, are gay by choice.  That the evolutionary process is not one that should be creating so many gay people.  I find it hard to believe that nature would spend so much time developing humans to all of a sudden make so many that wouldn't procreate.

Again, if I'm wrong, let me know why.  Please don't make disparaging comments about what I may, or may not know.

  5. @CBSNews: ISIS is highly disciplined — execution is punishment for deserting battle, falling asleep on duty, officials say

Wow, these guys run a tight ship.  I'm glad our army wasn't that bad or I might not be here to enlighten yall. Lol

  6. Pathetic!  IMO one big problem Police Dept's have is identifying those officers who let the "power" go to their heads.  Most of us have seen it at work.  Person gets promoted & soon starts throwing their weight around.  There, it's a nuisance, but when police do it, it can be life threatening.

Enlightening, and confirms what most of us have believed for quite a while.  Not something you'll see in the mainstream media.  Heaven forbid the nation finds out that the modern, progressive, folks of California are outdone by the cowboy, redneck mentality of Texas.

To take a part of one of Gen. Patton's quotes, "God help me, I do love it so".

  8. I'm at a loss to understand the use of heroin.  It's almost a one way street, so addictive, so hard to get off.  While I've never used weed, I have killed a few million brain cells with beer and Skye.  I get that, but heroin?  Can someone enlighten me?

  9. I don't see anyone campaigning to remove his show from TV land.....good ole boys are bad.......druging girls and raping them.....apparently ok to TV land

what a screwed up world we are living in

LOL, you are so right Hippy.  I'm trying to learn how to laugh at this stuff, but it's really sad.

  10. Me & my phone at odds today, so this is a disclaimer and apology if I screw up the thread.

Not sure @ the science, but I'll draw on life experiences.  I do believe a few are born gay - in my youth (about the time most of your G'pa's were young lol), my folks kept a cat around   Once we got two males from same litter.  Not only were they gay, but were practicing incest.  Of all the animals I've been around, this was the only deviant behavior I've seen (except for my friends dog who loved boys legs, but that's another story). It's not much to go on, but I'm convinced.  But, I don't think most the folks claiming to be gay were born that way.

Now, if science is right about the theory of evolution, how is that relevant here?   Best as I can tell, the main function of all animals, insects, etc, is to reproduce.  If that's so, why would Mother Nature create so many  humans that don't (don't even want to go thru the motions much less have children)?

i would guess 90% are gay by choice  .  Just IMO, but if I'm missing something, let me know.  Even old redneck country boys can still learn.

  11. Heard about this yesterday.  I don't think schools have Civic classes anymore, and very little History.  Less you know, easier it is to manipulate you.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, Fed aid to education was brought up (news article I guess).   My dad had a few choice comments. In my youthful ignorance, I remarked how the Govt money could help the schools.  He was quick to tell me that once you get that money, you start relying on them & they will control you.  In my Y.I. I didn't grasp it.  Stupid me lol.

Saw a news segment on the 4th.  Guy asking folks what we were celebrating.  Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.  Some just didnt know. One lady said we fought for our independence. When ask who, she said, the South.  Talk about low information voters.

  12. Skins, you make some good points about "wearing each other down", but Obama has admitted he didn't have a plan.  Now our military has contingency plans for fighting everywhere, or anybody.  You can go to the bank on that.  I was never privy to Whitehouse briefings, but I'm sure a plethora of options were given to Obama very early on.  Obviously, he took the "we'll bomb them" option as opposed to "boots on the ground" because he is the Commander-in-Chief.

When he announced he didn't have a plan, that means the military didn't have a plan he liked.  His choice, but essentially, he over ruled the military. I doubt you'll ever see that acknowledged in print, but I'd bet my $200 I got for passing go, on it.

I will concede this.  What he's done for whatever reason, may end up for the best.  I've learned of to many things that happened in WWII, that could be construed as Devine Providence.  Maybe that Angel is still on our side.

  13. One person hollers fire, maybe, maybe not (he said she said).  But when a bunch holler fire, something's burning.  I admit at first I was skeptical.   Not this guy.  Shows what a poor judge of character I am lol.

Just glad he never gave me a drink.

  14. @cnnbrk: “This will not be quick. This is a long-term campaign,” President Obama says on ISIS fight.

So he finally has a plan?   Wow, midway through the 3rd Qtr and he's come up with a plan.  I can't wait to see how this will work out.

Let me guess - Bomb Pearl Harbour?
