The offense still looks unimaginative. None of the receivers have game-breaking speed, so I’d expect a more creative play mix. It’s pretty stale.

I said that the last few weeks. Formations at not getting defenses out of position if they sit on us. We need motion and quick hitters. The QB needs to get rid of the ball quick IMO. Once again, I’m just a blind squirrel looking for a nut. All my posts are opinions!!

So we’ll lose 3 district games, make the playoffs and lose in the first, or you think we’ll lose 4 district games?

5-6. Although with Nederland struggling we might could go 6-5. I think if Reed comes back healthy and they put him on defense, that will help. We had 250 yards of offense tonight. Unless we get Landon involved we are going to struggle. We had a few injuries on defense that once they are back will help. If you sit in man coverage the only one who will and can break it is Landon. We need to work on quick passes so the QB has confidence IMO.  And defensively we could use some coaching up. We have some good athletes on each side of the ball. I’m not upset over tonight’s beat  down. I’m not a rah rah. This should show what we got exposed to and help the D coordinator make some changes. Offensively we need to be quick on anything we do. Mix in the run and eat clock. But hey I’m not a coach. Just a moron who read Coach Klein’s coaching for dummies!

    Many starters out tonight

Defensively we have a few. Offense is not so banged up. Landon can break coverage, he needs to be the go to IMO on offense. When Tommy comes back they need to put him on D for help, we will get a little better on defense as the year goes. Although I would like to see Tommy at RB, I think we have 2 backs that can handle the load. Once we get our safety back that will help as well. Make a few moves at corner and a little more coaching we will get better. We have some athletes, just need to get better.

Tomball is clearly better than us. This reminds me of the Stephenville (1999) game - They are better conditioned and playing smarter, faster. We can’t keep up. And their linemen are huge.

These guys do not have a Kendall Briles for sure!!!! Our defense is out of position which is nothing unusual. But offensively we are struggling to be nice about it.  It doesn’t change my mind on competing for the #4 seed. We should get better.

PNG Center has got to work out the problems with the snaps.  There were actually 16 errant snaps tonight, either off to the side or right at the ground. The quarterback did an amazing job of just trying to control the snaps. You can't tell me in the school the size of PNG that we can't find someone who can snap the ball consistently to the quarterback.  Just paint a target on the wall, at the right distance, and have the center snap the ball again and again and again so he's hitting that target every time.  Every time you miss the target you run a lap, that way when you get tired you can still snap the ball because you're used to it. I have no problem with the center's blocking, but you have to get the ball to the QB first & primarily.  These errant snaps are going to hurt us bad as the season progresses.

To his credit. He was moved to center and has had a bad week. His father passed away of COVID and he had to attend his funeral today. So I think he did a good job considering. The fact of the game, is neither teams are top tier. PNG is better on the defensive side of the ball for sure.  A go at the #4 seed is still attainable.

The only thing I would ask is if PNG and TC are playing for fourth, who is playing for third? I think you're making the assumption that it will be BH but with them breaking in a new coach and no real offseason, I'm not so sure? TC and PNG both had awful defenses last year but the only bright spot on TC's whole team graduated. They have a stud sophomore back that's going to replace McCall but making the assumption that both defenses will be pretty equal I would put PNG as the clear favorite over TC simply because of what they normally are on offense. To you point though, I would've said the same thing last year and they lost by 4 tds.

I think BH is a toss up. But ultimately it’s going to be for the final playoff spot IMO. I do think of Reed makes it back at the end of the season PNG will get a boost on offense. And with the change at DC, things might be a little better. But my expectations aren’t a top 3 defense in the district. This scrimmage against WOS will show a little on the defensive side. I’ll keep you posted. Clearly Crosby is in the drivers seat. And although some disagree, I’m glad to see someone in the district make a run.

I am not buying any hype. But the 40 plus points a game was a bit of a stretch and I get it since you are a Faircloth hater. We will get out athleted and scores ran up but lets not act like since he has been here his offense hasn't been plug and play. In his 12 years at PN-G his team has only given up more than 40 points in a game more than twice in a season on 3 occasions. (2010 (4 times), 2012 (3 times) and 2020 (3 times). While the offense averages 5.5 games a year over 40 points. So while you might fail at simple math I won't dispute your pick as the 4 seed. Just have to wait and see.

I struggle at math. And have a 2nd grade education. And my experience level on football is based off Tecmo Bowl games. However, I don’t dispute your numbers, actually when I run out of fingers and toes I just quit. But 4 seed at best, and my QB observation is on point. Just read this back in a month or so. I am by no means a BF hater, nor lover. He is a great offensive mind. And from what RJ told me, he’s actually a great defensive mind. However he doesn’t coach the other side of the ball.BF actually called the play in the timeout that Nederland ran to beat us when RJ was QB. However, as usual, our defense was out of position. So put your Pom poms down for a bit and take my words for what they are. It’s all opinion based, and maybe Tecmo Bowl isn’t actually the education needed to coach football or evaluate talent. But those that know me, know I don’t mince my words. Love me, or hate me, I’m just a clown 🤡 without makeup stocking up on toilet paper for the upcoming next pandemic. PM me if you run out!!!

You dont know what you are talking about.

Sadly I do. Don’t believe the hype of the internet. You will see a QB carousel this season. And you will not see a vastly improved defense. Maybe the kicker is good, but 3 points at a time will not help.  Take this info you your bookie, it’s golden!!  My credentials are famous. World renowned. Guarnere will be the breakout reciever  of the Corp, if you are looking for a bright spot.

  9. Well your favorite rah rah hater is back!! I said last year PNG would compete for the #4 spot and I will say the same this year. I think Crosby and Nederland are locks for playoff spots. I think PNG will need to pick up a win against TC to go in as #4. Defense will be a tad better possibly, but who knows. They are moving kids all over the place, so I expect the same missed assignments as usual. I think the tall sophomore will see a lot of playing time at QB, the starter has been injury prone. Receivers are average and the loss of Reid at RB hurts us IMO. Bost was a very good athlete, and he made up for a lack of a lot of other stuff and had ice water in his veins. I think a 5-5 season will be a success. From what I read we have a great kicker, but when you are giving up 40+ a game, 3 points doesn’t help much. So mark this post for later review. Look for PNG to go in as a 4, or not go in. This my friends is the truth, truth!!!!!

  10. Nederland get back to your own thread. We are not that  good, but we beat y’all!! Cry till next year. Larry is gone!!! Back to the game in hand. PNG has 3 ways of winning. 1. Is COVID. 2. Is IPad scandal for a forfeit from other team. Or 3. The world gets shut down. My prediction is 74-6 FB. This will not be much of a contest. Track meet one way, disaster the other. As I have posted all year. We played for the 4th spot and got it. One and done. Don’t be mad at me for the truth. I do not have our defensive stats, but I can only imagine what we give up per game... Sorry Rah Rahs....
