You're post was 2 seed or out and you were wrong. That's all. What I am really saying is make some more predictions not in PN-G's favor so they can be wrong as well. Reverse jinx type stuff.

Well, there is a first for everything! I didn’t realize Nederland was as bad as they are. But I’m hoping for a win tonight. But watching TC on film, I don’t know.

You sure were confident weren't you?

End of the day, the Nederland loss gets us in, if Crosby plays starters next week. So 3 or 4 seed with a loss. Not everyone gets a participant ribbon. I do think Crosby and BH can go a few rounds  if Nederland doesn’t lose, I think my post is dead on. But I always use my Tecmo Bowl knowledge…

I don’t think point differential counts against teams that aren’t tied? If TC beat both PNG and BH they would have three district losses. If Crosby beats Ned they’ll also have three district losses. Only the BH, Ned and PNG point differentials against each other would count.

If 21 points is the cap then Ned would be -11, BH would be +7 and PNG would be +4. Crosby would finish 1st, TC 2nd, BH would finish 3rd and PNG 4th.

Yeah. The cap is 14. But I don’t see BH losing to TC. I think it’s PNG win to get in. The rest will play out like we all think IMO. PNG #2 or out. Crosby DC. Nederland only chance is #4 seed. This week ends the debate.

This has been a hot topic this morning. Here’s a look at the current 12-5A-DII standings.
    1. Crosby (5-0)
    2. Texas City (4-1)
    3. PNG (3-2)
    3. Barbers Hill (3-2)
    3. Nederland (3-2)
    6. Dayton (1-4)
    6. Kingwood Park (1-4)
    8. Santa Fe (0-5)
There are still two weeks to be played, but these would be the playoffs seeds if the season was over.
    1. Crosby (5-0)
    2. Texas City (4-1)
    3. PNG (3-2)
    4. Barbers Hill (3-2)
Three way ties are broken by point differentials in games involving the three teams. The differential cap for 12-5A-DII is 14.
    Nederland 38 PNG 28
    PNG 49 Barbers Hill 35
    Barbers Hill 66 Nederland 28
    (Differential Cap: 14 points)
    PNG (+4)
    Barbers Hill (0)
    Nederland (-4)

That’s assuming it’s a 3 way tie. Meaning BH loses to TC. If BH wins against TC, PNG is out on head to head with Nederland.

very good comments, however TC will not beat BH

if PNG beats TC - Crosby #1, PNG #2, BH #3, and TC # 4

if Tc wins- Crosby#1, BH#2, TC#3, and Nederland #4. it is that simple

the only exception is if KO upsets Nederland which could happen the way Nederland is playing

And back to my earlier post. PNG is either #2 or out

Not true.  If PNG loses to TC and so does Barbers Hill.  It would be a 3 way tie between PNG, Barbers Hill and Nederland.  PNG and Barbers Hill own the point differential and would both be in and Nederland out.

Is it district point differential or just between the teams?

That’s pretty wild when you look at it that way. We said we wanted tougher district play though. There is still a scenario where TC beats both PNG and BH and PNG still gets in but yeah, this is basically a play-in for PNG. Let’s see how they perform in front of the home crowd in a very winnable game even though they’ll be at a personnel disadvantage. Opportunity to play 12 games vs 10.

Points differential is not even close on PNG getting in on a 3 way tie, unless we beat Santa Fe by triple digits. I think it’s a great opportunity for a put up or shut up for our coaching staff. Put a game plan together to win. If you watch film, it’s rather simple. But I say that week in, week out. Maybe we got out of this zone that gives up 50 points a game in district, and 600 yards a game, and we try something different. Whats crazy, is we are giving up 50 a game in district, and still have a win and get in chance for the #2 seed. If that doesn’t light a fire, I’m not sure what will. But if it goes like the bookies would say, your liking at Crosby, TC, BH, Nederland.

If PNG wins, it goes Crosby, PNG, then 2 more

If Bh beats Dayton, they are in regardless. Even with a Loss at TC.

Nederland can hope for #4 seed at best.

And as I said, a PNG loss end it for the season.

Should make for some exciting football IMO….

Agreed, we haven’t covered anything over the middle or that 8 yard our route off play-action the whole season. PAM was also having success against us with it but went away from it and BH never tried it. There were were several more plays to be made over the middle and probably a couple of TDs but to someone’s point earlier the PNG qb play isn’t what is has been in past years.

I’ll say this though. PNG has significantly less talent than Dayton, yet BF still has them right in the thick of things.

It was me who noted our QB play. And yes, with some coaching Dayton should be better, they have talent for sure.

I actually thought BF had a great gameplan. Move the pocket and try to take advantage of the pass plays we struggled to cover on film. Hit us on the second play of the game for a TD.

Us armchair qbs thought PNG should try to run the ball and eat clock. In actuality though the way PNG was getting beat at the LOS if they tried to run Trahan from the beginning of the game they might not have scored in the first half. They just would’ve ended up in 2nd and 3rd and long a lot more. BF outcoached us armchair guys. The game was always going to be about Crippen being able to make enough plays to keep PNG in it and he couldn’t. He can only do so much though.

As far as the talent pool, you’re spot on. It’s something I’ve been saying for the last few years now. The suburban schools like Crosby and BH with growing enrollments just have bigger talent pools to choose from right now.

He did, and that was throw the ball in the middle which has been an Achilles heel with Crosby. But once Crosby got pressure on the QB that was all she wrote. We are not capable of winning a shootout with the personnel we have. But I was actually surprised we hung for a bit. As for the rest of this whole thread, some is true, some is not. But, PNG is not the PNG of my day. Take it how y’all all want.

BF is limited by his personnel. If the PNG faithful can’t see that after last night then they’re probably the ones with the issue, not BF. He could’ve ran anything outside of the slot-t and it would’ve been similar results.

One of the moms last night asked one of the other fans in the stands, “Somebody said this is the team that beat Barbers Hill?”. Guy says, “Yeah, it is”. Woman turns to her friend and says, “IDK, maybe they were using different players?” She was DAS too😭

That’s a good statement. I think it was an eye opener for the rah rahs last night. But for the football folks it was no surprise. BF is very limited right now. I will not get on here and call out kids and positions. But he is limited. I do think we can do better on the defensive side of the ball. Crosby did nothing magical in their play calling. Simple game film showed what they like, and who they like to feed. Our defensive plan was a joke, and I knew that mid week, that’s why I gave the 42 point prediction, and down by 28 at the half. I will say this, and it’s not something I usually say, I do not think on the offensive side of the ball , he can do anything more. And if he gets this team to a playoff spot, it will be a win for him. As for the yard signs, I don’t think you will see any, or should see any. We have had a run of very good QB play, and it has helped us over the past 7 years. This group is not as fortunate on that. The next 5 years are going to be a tough time at PNG. This team fell apart against Nederland, and it might very well cost them a playoff spot, but somehow beat a BH team that was a toss up. If they can pull a win out at TC, it will be a great win for these kids. But comparing PNG to Crosby is almost Ludacris. The talent pull is just not comparable, due to location.

  11. I have Crosby by 4 scores by the half. Second half will be a backup situation. Our defensive game plan just will not match up with Crosby at all. Offensively for PNG, I don’t know what we can do against them. I have it 56-14 Crosby. I have PNG with 2 turnovers and I can see Crosby with 600 plus yards. Once again, I am only using my Tecmo Bowl knowledge. Hoping for no injuries so we can have a shot at beating TC….

it's fun to hate on BH but I think they will actually pull this one out. I know I previously meme'd about a 4th quarter collapse. I think this one might be a bit too much for the dogs.

BH played toe to toe with both Crosby, Paetow, and PAM until the 4th quarter at least. That's a sign of a lot of talent. I think the kids learned two weeks ago that shouting at refs and getting your QB thrown out loses you games. I don't think BH loses versus PNG had they not literally got their QB thrown out of the game.

That being said Nederland has not looked very good at all this year. 2 points versus TC? Needs a comeback to beat Silsbee?

I don't think BH is particularly good on defense which will matter less if Nederland cannot figure out how to play offense.

I think BH offense will score a fair chunk on these dogs, and I think Nederland will need to really turn the corner offensively to win.

That being said too many if then statements for Nederland. I'll take BH by 7 and they hold on for the victory.

    35-28

I agree with the QB getting tossed helped us. But for some reason BH totally got away for what was working before he was tossed. Totally mind boggling to me. Pretty messy with penalties as well. I can’t say I’m super high on Nederland, but they have the ability to outcoach the ants in the pants.. So I’ll go with that as my deciding factor.
