The old Bancroft school district. Almost 100% of FM 1078, parts if FM 1130, and past FM 1078 going up Hwy 62 toward Mauriceville. It cuts from 62 east, to the curve north of Country Corner Store on 1130.

It’s very discerning to see everyone downing the “education” at WOS. There have been and are still excellent teachers on the staff and kids wanting to go further in life get a great education. The problem is that WOS has a larger majority of kids who may be challenged in one way or another and the lack of discipline in the classroom than other schools in the area. The curriculum is there. The ability and desire to learn may be a challenge to some, but it is maddening for some to act like the kids at WOS aren’t being taught. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink. (Especially in today’s society where everyone is offended by something). 

Maybe Yaboy KtTraylor want mind wasting some gas money to come down from Dallas to enlighten the school board on they turned WOS into the Buna Boudain Balls….. of course with his help. 😀

Not to mention I believe, iirc, he was there under subpoena (I.e., he didn’t have a choice to NOT attend).  And then it’s a matter of answering questions you are asked. I am quite certain he would have probably preferred to be ANYWHERE else on that day. 

Don’t know nothing about the kid that was kicked off, other than I’ve heard from several in the community that he was a turd.   Two sides to every story.
As far as the Carl Broussard story.   CT was a character witness.   He can only testify as to what he knew the man to be.   I’m fairly confident that CT didn’t condone he’s actions and what he was found guilty of.
I know Broussard personally, myself.   He coached at my high school in 1995, and I ran into him over the years.   What he did was beyond reproach, but that’s not the person I knew.
To say CT didn’t have morals, and wasn’t a man of a character as some in West Orange want ppl to believe is bull crap.  They are reaping what they have sown.

On a plus note, WOS will forever more be used an exhibit in every debate from now on about which is more important… athletes or coaches. 
 
You might not be able to win the Kentucky derby with a mule, but about a dozen million dollar race horses lose the derby every year. 
 

Pfft… that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Had no idea it went down like that in West Orange, just thought the old ball coach was retiring and moving on. What did he do hurt too many peoples feelings and make them work too hard? Demand respect and accountability, terrible.

Congratulations! You all have gotten what you wanted! Change! You get rid of a coach and staff that did nothing but win!! None of you guys should be saying a word! You got what you wanted! In one year, the tradition and reputation of WOS football has been destroyed! Congratulations!!

I think the decline will get worse.   The discipline, toughness, conditioning, will all further decline as the years go by.
 
It was gonna be hard to replace CT with just anyone.   It was gonna take an extensive, open-minded, state wide search for the best. They didn’t do that, and they will continue to pay the consequences.

That is the most off the mark comment on this thread. Sounds like someone from a program just happy to make the playoffs every once in a while and has NO clue how the Mustang program is run.

There is a 4 loss season, and a really down season...there is a difference. Losing to HF and getting boat raced by PNG and Silsbee is not just a "down" year for WOS. Anyone that can't see the difference in this team and other teams in the past are not really being honest with themselves. 
The difference is, at WOS the goal isn't to just MAKE the playoffs...that's a given with this program. Any other program... then that would be a valid point. This program is always thinking...can we make it to state?!?  And who is in our way to get to state?!?! 

WOS should rehire CT as superintendent, then they would have one that can actually get on the sidelines and know what needs to be done. The super is ultimately responsible, evidently this one has made some poor decisions. The kids are the ones that are suffering the consequences. 

West orange never has a down year like this. I may be wrong , but we’d have to go back 30-40 years to find a west orange team losing like this. When they lost to png I thought, “ok, png might just be better than we thought and are finally playing defense.” When they lost to Silsbee I thought, “well of course - Silsbee has one of the best players in the state and is probably going to go at least five rounds this year.” Then they kept losing. And they keep losing on absolutely terrible offensive production and non-existent defense. This kind of self-destruction is unheard of for west orange. It may amount to just a down year, but that it’s happening at all is weird. A down year for west orange used to mean district champs and a second or third round exit. Now it means losing to Hampshire Fannet ? This season is a historic dip for that program 

I never have a problem with a school supt. being down on the track/field. But he/she should never be on the sidelines within those white lines and should never be talking with coaches/players.

If this keeps up Hiawatha may be shown the Highway.

Two things. 
First. That a very reasonable expectation at this point. The thing is this. Our expectation every year is to win the state championship. Most other schools can't and fans don't understand that. Few rounds deep is great for almost every school in Texas. We should be winning in December. Because we know what it takes and we are quite capable of doing it. Of course there have been plenty of years that didn't happen. And we keep on going just like we'll do if happens again now. 
Second...
That is correct. Some say all or nothing, and why can't we be performing to what was expected. Hiring process aside. Other decisions since then have been questionable.
Nobody wants H or the staff or the kids to fail. 

No way a CT defense tackles that poorly, can’t cover a forward pass, and gives up that many yards.
 
IMO, Silsbee was the better team, and should have won my a larger margin.   But, a CT defense wouldn’t have played that pathetically.

We all knew the new WOS coach is a defensive juggernaut. This only proves it

40 points. 3 losses in a row. It's time to step up and admit you made a mistake. This coaching staff is absolute garbage, and not worthy of the colors. 

So nothing to worry about in WOS land huh??? 3 in a row...when has that EVER happened??? And giving up 30 a game?!?

Get Miller some damn bananas and pickle juice ASAP. And a back brace cause he putting Silsbee on his back right now. 

Yup....the new norm.  “Losses aren’t bad...these teams are so good”. Ok
It looks like they will be one of those teams labeled as “tons of talent” but can’t get it done.  We have/had several of those locally.
Folks can say “give the guy a chance” but when you change the defensive scheme with a program that has hung its hat on defense.....doesn’t make sense.  It’s not like he was a defensive mastermind 

Bug, I think it's many things that begin with changing from the 50. I think the present coach is a great person, but, I think it's a poor decision to come in and the first thing you do is change the first thing you said you wouldn't change. That also happens to be the foundation the program was built on. You know, it's kind of one of those deals, if your going to come in and change the foundation of the program, you sure as heck better be successful at it. 
I agree with DJ in that we don't have the personnel to run the 40. There's a reason we ran the 50 all these years. The lineman you need at the 3 techniques we don't have every year. The 50 plays into what we have in abundance, quickness.
That, and we don't tackle like Mustangs anymore and I can only wonder if we still hit and tackle in practice (we may, that's just speculation). 
I've seen the people on FB blaming it on a young team and an overall lack of talent from years past. I coached these kids and the 10 classes before them. This class has as much talent, experience and ability as the last 2 or 3.
All in all, I hope they get this thing rolling. But, when you make changes to something that didn't need changes, you put yourself on a much shorter leash than you would had you truly attempted to "continue the tradition".

WOS will still win a whole bunch of games.  They will still play several rounds deep in the playoffs.   They still have quality athletes.   Hell, the way the district has been bleeding students the last 2 decades, they could be 3A-D2 one day.   They will always be competitive.
 
But…. I don’t feel they will ever be the WOS they use to be.   Not unless better decisions, and better hires are made.   The further we get away from the DRH and CT era’s, and the impact they had on the program, the more they will decline.
 
How to kill a program?  Get rid of any and everyone that had to do with past success, and change the philosophies and schemes that created the success.    Coach T was a tough, hard nosed, old school disciplinarian.  He was the S&T coordinator.   Take that away, and replace him with anyone, and it’s a downgrade.    I don’t care what kind of college experience the guy comes from.
