  1. It’s better to be a has-been than a never-was. I think the game on Friday will be close. Not guaranteeing a win. But you’re right… you don’t want to come down here to ol’ CB’s level.
  2. 🤷‍♂️ What can I say? I like to win.
  3. Dude, they've got them as low as $499. It's within your reach, my man. If you cut back on the hippy lettuce and skip a few more haircuts, you'll have it.
  4. What you can assume is that he's a nothing, he's always been a nothing, his town is nothing, his kids are gonna be nothings, etc....
  5. You would if you could, Little Buddy.... I'll give you points for honesty. Do you know how you can tell the losers? You can't figure out where they're from because they're ashamed, lol. Where are you from "Right99JOH?"
  6. BC has a state championship. Do y'all? Doubt it.
  7. Yeah.... as the senior representative of the BC fanbase, I agree with you. We haven't done anything special yet.
  8. I haven't seen Lum's kid yet, but BC's guy isn't a typical BC qb. I'm not saying he's better than Lum's kid, but Lum's kid would have to be pretty good to be better than ours. He can throw down.

  10. I'm confused as to why the "weaponized against Trump" DOJ is going after democrats? Two obvious conclusions: 1. They aren't weaponized against Rs or Trump. 2. Trump and Adams are both suspected of doing illegal things.
  11. This game is gonna wreck some pick’ems. This game should be a better indicator of who the Cardinals are.
  12. I’m just curious… why do you hate Obama so much? He was a decently skilled politician, and probably an average president. No major financial crisis, no new wars… ho-hum economy and a health care plan that Republicans refused to revamp. So why are y’all still hating on him eight years after he termed out? It’s like the answer is probably obvious, but I just can’t seem to figure out what’s different about him in particular…
  13. I’ve been saying this for years.
  14. Are you sure that’s not from 2020? 🤣😂🤣
  15. I was making fun of the fact that Reagan will look at 500 polls that show Harris leading, then finds ONE that shows Trump ahead and posts it here, proudly yelling “SEE?!!!! TOO BIG TO RIG!!!” While ignoring the 500 that show quite clearly what’s about to happen.
  16. Well, I believe everything Donald Trump says, and that’s wrong according to y’all. “He just uses hyperbole and exaggeration, that’s not what he meant, he was obviously being sarcastic, that’s being taken out of context, etc. “
  17. But to your point, it's all circular. Collective bargaining has had multiple effects... on one hand the cost of labor has risen so dramatically that many production-related union jobs here in the US have been outsourced, therefore cutting the union influence in the US. The other effect that those higher wages is that so many union workers make so much money that they are no longer the lower/middle class. They're upper/middle class to upper class, and suddenly those benevolent policies that the left embraces (higher taxes, handouts for the lazy, etc) don't sound like such a good deal to the rank & file union members. Think about when Mobiloil went on strike in Beaumont a couple of years ago... the workers thought it would be a good idea to have a boat parade on the Neches (since everybody that works there can afford a boat or two). No surprise that those guys aren't crazy about Dem policies. The union brass has done such a good job of raising wages that they've made their presence unnecessary by shrinking the pool of available union workers and creating a class of union members that don't support the Dem party anymore. And of course, you're speaking of the blue-collar Teamsters and I'm talking about OCAW, IBEW, etc... Unions like the SEIU, screen actors guild, teachers unions, etc are still doing just fine and I'd expect them to have members voting much more favorably towards the Ds.
  18. So this poll is a fox poll and has credibility (in your eyes)?
  19. You can make all of the jokes that you want … those weren’t Marxists beating up Capitol police and smashing stuff at the Capitol. They were trump fans wanting him to remain in power through any means possible. Legalities be darned.
  20. I’ve met a few… they exist. But a quarter sounds high to me, too.
  21. Good analysis... but I think you might be overlooking population growth as it relates to voter turnout, in most years. 2020 was an an outlier for a couple of reasons.... we've never sent mass ballots out to registered voters, unrequested. I strongly suspect this "allowed" a lot of people to vote who normally wouldn't be bothered to make their way to the polls, and also would have opened up the POSSIBILITY of voter fraud (but no evidence of such was ever found). The question is whether or not it makes good sense to "push" people to vote when they'd normally not be willing to go to any effort to get to the polls... I guess that depends on whether or not your party won or lost. I think it was a terrible idea. The main thing that I saw was that Trump does an excellent job of getting people to vote... not just for him, but against him as well. And he's better at getting the "Not Trump" votes out than he is at getting the actual "Trump" votes to the polls. That's the real Trump Effect, in my mind. But I think a combination of those two factors led to the high turnouts... combined with the ongoing pandemic/lockdowns, as well as the racial unrest that was going on in 2020. It's kinda strange that people see "fraud" in the jump in Dem votes from 2016 to 2020, but nothing wrong with an abnormal increase in Repub votes for the same time period.
  22. There wasn't a lot of cackling going on last Tuesday night when she pieced Trump up in the debate. Oh, wait.... the moderators cheated, lol.

  24. C'mon.... the second attempt on his life? They caught a guy with a gun in the area. Exaggerate much? It's just a PR stunt for the Trump campaign, all of whom are upset that it's not working as effectively as the first one to boost support. MAYBE if Trump hadn't shown up with a Kotex on his ear and selected JD Vance to be his VP immediately after the attempt, he could have sustained the momentum from that failed Republican assassination attempt. And to call someone a Marxist "because their father must have passed some of that ideology on to his little girl" is a stretch, bro. Calling somebody a Marxist doesn't mean what it used to, McCarthy.
  25. Nah… to be completely honest, I think it goes like this. I’m split on it. Part of me says that there’s a segment of voters who believe that trump should be the ruler, whatever that means. It’s about 25% of R voters according to polls. They’re the hardcore Trump loyalists… the kind of people who would travel to DC in the winter to hear Trump speak at a rally, then ransack the Capitol… maybe trump doesn’t believe his own “you’ll never have to vote again” rhetoric-but he’s just throwing red meat to the fascism supporting minority of the R party. Kinda like he does when he says racist crap to fire up the minority of his followers (cough, Baddog, cough) who really don’t like brown skins or foreigners. You know, Trump doesn’t really want unilateral power, he just needs to whip up his voters who think he should have unilateral power. It’s possible, right? Then the other side of me sees who he was willing to say or do ANYTHING to remain in office, even after it became obvious that he didn’t have the votes. The fact that he refuses to accept reality as late as the debate last week makes me think, “no… this guy is the real deal, willing to do ANYTHING to get back in office and then willing to do anything to keep it and/or hand it off to his heir apparent. Over time, things have ping-ponged back and forth between monarchies/fascists who get overrun by the masses, then that form of government (populist) erodes to the point where a strong man seizes power. I think we fought off socialism/communism as a republic and in 2024 we’re fighting off a facist-style movement where enough of the population has enough faith in one leader to give them absolute power. But that’s just my opinion. Trump and his hardcore followers (the ones who aren’t in prison for their 1/6 activities represent the biggest internal threat to our democracy that we’ve seen in my lifetime. The fact that it’s originating from “my” side is what’s particularly troubling to me. I would have expected the left to converge around a popular leftist, not the right.
