  1. We went three rounds with it in ‘16… until we ran into a team that could slow us down a little and could air it out.
  2. Let's be honest... the slot T was developed to give unathletic kids a chance to be competitive against another team with superior athletes. It actually works a lot of time, until a defense is able to slow down the T's running. We ALL agree that Bellville's defense is completely unprepared for Silsbee's offensive attack. The only question is whether Silsbee's defense can to do to Bellville what they've already done to Vidor.
  3. I got mine from Tractor Supply. PHD= Post Hole Digger
  4. He coached a team to the state championship game, then went to LiCk'eM where they celebrate coming in second in District to Lum. If that's not a fall from grace, I don't know what one looks like, I guess. He's Crouch 2.0....
  5. And to hell with all of y’all for forcing me to defend the tigers.
  6. Lol….. Silsbee practices with a 1000 yard rusher every afternoon (Kibbles) plus they had a heck of a back last year. Heck, Kibbles would be Bellville’s feature back if he went to school there. Silsbee has seen talented backs from WOS, Jasper, etc… they throttled a fairly decent slot T team in Vidor. I expect Bellville to play a better version of the T, but at the end of the day it’s just a matter of cramming the box, maintaining your assignments, and then on to the next one… The problem Bellville has is this…. All Silsbee has to do is focus on the run. If Silsbee stops the run, Silsbee wins. It Silsbee can’t stop the run, there’s still a pretty good chance that Silsbee wins. If Bellville can’t run, they’re done. Period. The biggest drawback to the offense Coach Rowe uses is this-and I say this from experience… it does NOTHING to prepare your defense to face teams who can successfully move the ball through the air. I expect Belleville’s defense to get exposed on Friday… but that’s just an opinion. Who knows? Maybe the defense will rise to the occasion under the lights on Friday the first time they’ve seen a championship level aerial attack. The game is Silsbee’s to lose.
  7. Why don’t you mind your business while you finish ruining peavey’s career by being so…..y’all.
  8. Okay, Genius. Which of your practice squad running backs is gonna line up at wideout against your first team secondary to mimic Silsbee’s WRs? Who from the practice squad (or first team offense for that matter) is gonna be airing it out this week to prepare your corners? Have you ever seen a turtle on its back? That’s what is going to happen to Bellville if Silsbee gets a single stop.
  9. I can see this one going kinda like 2016 when Silsbee played BC. Silsbee couldn't stop BC's slot T attack, but BC couldn't stop Silsbee's more balanced attack, either. Both teams hung about fifty and the game came down to a game-deciding field goal attempt as time expired. But it'll be a game where Silsbee just can't afford to commit penalties that keep drives alive for Bellville, and tSilsbee WILL get frustrated by the misdirection and cut blocks. Silsbee DID a decent job of handling Vidor's slot T attack, and while it's not on Bellville's level of execution, they've seen it in action. Bellville, however, hasn't faced an offense like Silsbee's, as far as I can tell, and there's nothing about practicing against a Slot T offense every day that will prepare a secondary like Bellville's for what's coming. The game will come down to penalties and coaching decisions down the stretch in my opinion... But I'm gonna say "Tigers" in this one.
  10. You’re right… the numbers are a lot closer than they used to be. At one point (maybe 2019?) BC had something like 818 and the next smallest school was almost 1100. I get why BC is growing, but I don’t understand how LCM is shrinking.
  11. As a school that was formerly the smallest team in our 4A D1 district (and possibly the entire classification), let me state for the record that it sucks. The range of students in D1 is huge, and it doesn’t help that schools in that district are huge for D1. Lum, Vidor, LiCk’eM, and Huffman, are usually flirting with 5A D2 numbers. I used to correctly state that you could add the entire enrollment of Newton to BC and our total attendance still wouldn’t be as large as the next-smallest school in our district. It’s no fun to go out on Friday and watch your team get sat on by a bigger bunch of unathletic kids. They just beat on sheer size and numbers. I’m not happy that we’re headed back up to D1. I’d rather get out-athleted in our D2 district than lose to a bunch of crappy (but bigger) schools.
  12. Do you remember when they started flagging ANYBODY that used it in the NFL? It was like mining cartoon gold for a little bit. I wonder if it still draws a flag on Sundays?
  13. To Coach Rowe and the Brahmans, I suggest: 1. Talk about their mamas. 2. Use that P word that women hate. 3. Use “boy,” not that other word. Its 2023. 4. Flop. Always flop. But honestly, i can see this one being a higher-scoring affair with the last possession telling the tale. Silsbee might have problems with the Slot T, but I don’t expect Bellville to stop that a Silsbee O, either. Extracurriculars in this one have the potential to be devastating for Silsbee in this matchup. I think the Tigers get it done.
  14. I didn’t listen or watch… was it a clean game by the tigers?
  15. My understanding is the he will be given 800k reasons to go to Colorado… plus wheels. A&M was only ponying up 240k. I mean, how important is winning if you got $$$?
  16. Silsbee will roll… anybody wanna venture a guess on how many 15 yard penalties they’ll accrue? The Tigers don’t have history versus these kids, so i think they’ll keep down to only four.
  17. I enjoyed that… sounds like a guy that would drop whatever he’s doing to come home. My thought goes like this. For years the ISD operated as an extension of the athletic department at WOS. There’s never been a super with enough stroke to unseat the HFC/AD in WOS-that is, until the community gave the authority to the Super with their allegations and preferences about the coaching at WOS. Make no mistake… guys who want to run school districts have big egos-they like to be the guy in charge. I can’t think of a super that would hire a guy to work for them that had more clout than the super himself. It just makes no sense. Add to that the fact that the majority of locals who demanded a certain shade of coach year before last haven’t changed their minds, and I have a hard time seeing a Toby hire actually happen. And I don’t think he’s the guy who can return WOS to statewide prominence, anyways.
  18. C’mon…. That was obviously a black man on that video.
  19. I dunno…. How fun would it be to take over another team and beat your old team that is still paying you 7m a year?
  20. That’s insane. Gotta do it, though. 76 million sounds like a lot, but when you look at the dollars being spent on NIL, you have to move on.
  21. How many state championships did he get while at Central? Or did he even win a District Championship? I can’t remember Central making the playoffs while he was the Head Coach. Had plenty of talent over there, too. I’m not saying he’s a bad dude… but his record proves that he’s an average coach at best. Y’all have to find another hall of famer to sign on as head coach or you won’t return to dominance. I didn’t see any hall-of-fame applicants stepping up last time, and I doubt they’ll be lining up now that y’all fell off a cliff.
  22. If Foreman is the answer, you’re asking the wrong question. He hasn’t won much anywhere else, but he’ll turn into a world beater if he comes back to Orange? I’m not buying in.
  23. Yea, but no… it won’t get better without a change, but just changing for the sake of changing won’t do the trick. There might be a half dozen men (of any color) in the state that have a proven record of doing what has been done in WOS over the last few decades. There might be a half dozen currently coaching who will one day prove themselves capable of what’s been done in WOS. Jerry Jones once claimed that there were 500 coaches capable of leading the Cowboys to a Championship…. They haven’t won one since. Hickman isn’t the problem. He’s a decent coach… Y’all are just used to elite coaching and the odds of y’all attracting (much less hiring) an elite coach are practically non-existent.
  24. Y’all should have just let us win a couple of weeks ago. We’re good with one and done in the playoffs. Seriously, though… this is what y’all wanted. Stop crying.
