  1. Well, in all fairness, the majority of gun nuts are conservatives. It’s not a surprise (or it shouldn’t be) when the people who horde guns are the ones actually using them. It’s like saying “why is it that every time somebody quotes from the Bible, “they” try to portray them as Christians?” Ummm…. Christians have most of the Bibles.
  2. The fact that my network administrator won't let me access his source says about all that needs to be said.
  3. Here’s the plan. We’ll nominate a man that over half of the voters hate. Oh, and the last time he lost, his supporters overran the Capitol trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power. He also tells us “vote for me now, and you’ll never have to vote again,” but he’s no threat to democracy, lol. After 1/6, he should have been disqualified by the R primary voters, but he wasn’t. Anyone who still votes for trump is a traitor.
  4. This. Trump didn’t look good in the first debate…. Biden just look 100x worse. “Our numbers on the _______ were the best in history. We’ve never seen more beautiful numbers. Everybody knows that I’m the best president on the _________, ever” isn’t a strategy. “She’s the worst vice president, ever!” Really? Dan Quayle couldn’t spell “potato.”
  5. Goldman Sachs reviewed the promises of both candidates and determined that Kamala’s plans would add 1.2T to the debt… Trump’s plans would add 5.2T in the same time frame. This was prior to trump adding “no taxes on overtime” to his wish list.
  6. I’m BC all the way… but this isn’t realistic. I like our chances against anybody in the district at this point, but we’re not favorites. Still untested.
  7. Sounds like somebunny is about to get his contract extended!!!!
  8. Oh, I was batting my eyes like crazy. The waste was astounding, and in many cases local governments are STILL trying to figure out how to spend all of the ARPA funds that were sent their way by Washington in response to COVID. My problem with entitlement spending is that in many cases it’s overdone. Why would a person decide to get a job and buy groceries, knowing they could never afford to eat as extravagantly as they do while abusing the SNAP, EBT, WIC, etc. Your solution is to say “well, pay them enough at McDonald’s so they can afford to eat lobster on week nights and they’ll get jobs.” Wrong… human nature is laziness and greed. If we went back to USDA programs that offered staples (bread, eggs, milk, cheese, peanut butter) instead of cards that can be used to purchase steaks, cokes, snack cakes, etc…. People would go get jobs. We incentivize laziness. If you get knocked up, Kamala will give you $6k for birth, then you get all of the other benefits, plus a bump in your EIC “refund” every spring. We encourage the least capable of supporting kids to have more kids. It’s bananas. We’re the only nation in history whose impoverished are uniformly obese.
  9. Right... "but, but, but, Trump" didn't do that the first time around, and he's said absolutely nothing about doing it this time around. As it stands, he's all about more tax cuts for the rich, no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, and no taxes on social security. But nary a peep about cutting spending. He DOES plan to put tariffs on imports, not admitting that any increase in the cost to bring goods into the country will be passed directly onto the public. China is simply going mark up their goods by 20% and sell them to us at an INFLATED price. Inflated... what word does "inflated" remind me of? Oh, inflation. That's the word I'm looking for. Understanding that trump failed the assignment last time, and has made no mention of doing it right this time, combined with the fact that his business model always seems to involve the bankruptcy courts... I have to ask WHY?????? Because he's the best name-caller ever, and he's buying our votes with promises of lower taxes.
  10. Bc isn’t overpriced… it’s WORTH IT.
  11. The thing is this... Tax cuts (even Trump's) do work to stimulate the economy.... but the problem is that they're done with deficit spending.... and deficit spending yields inflation. Tax cuts without spending cuts are just a temporary shot in the arm that turns into a net negative. If I go to the Payday loan place this afternoon and get $1000, I can have one heck of a good weekend, but I'm not going to like the next year or two when I'm trying to pay the thing back. You're the kind of person that says, "but it WORKED! We had a good weekend! Let's take out as many of these loans as we can!" Inflation is going on right now... do you realize the cause? It's deficit spending by the federal government. They dumped out tons of cash (and continue to do so) without increasing the tax revenue to offset the higher spending. It ALWAYS happens that way. It's as predictable as the sun rising in the East. Do you know what else would spur the economy besides tax cuts? Just handing everybody big wads of cash via the federal government. BECAUSE IT'S THE SAME EXACT THING. It's a temporary high, creates debt, and ends up pushing the economy downward in short order. Reagan's tax cuts are the reason Bush had to raise taxes... Yes, the economy bumped, but the debt grew at four times the rate of the economy. The numbers don't lie.
  12. Neither... because it would mean slashing the military budget, social security, and medicare. The Rs are just as bad as the Ds when it comes to deficit spending. The only thing that they disagree over is how to spend the money that we're borrowing.
  13. Trump’s still offering tax cuts we can’t afford in exchange for votes. You can’t “cut tax revenue” your way out of debt, as it’s been proven over and over. The economy gets a temporary shot in the arm, the debt explodes, then inflation happens, then a recession.
  14. No, compassion for all is access for all. Everybody has the right to bear arms… that doesn’t mean everybody gets a gun regardless of their ability to pay. We have the ability to travel freely about the country… that doesn’t mean that “compassion” would allow anyone to walk into the ford dealer and demand a free car…. Free healthcare isn’t a right…. People who believe their own health and welfare is someone else’s responsibility is the problem with society today. The only people unbothered by inflation at the grocery store are the ones whose groceries are free. The laziest among us eat better than the working poor and the actual working class. You wouldn’t need Sherlock Holmes to solve the mystery of “Who’s not paying for their own groceries at Walmart Today?” Compassion is making sure the poor don’t starve. Compassion isn’t giving those unwilling to labor the reward of gluttony for free. And the solution isn’t “free food for everyone.”
  15. In Thessalonians 3:10, we're told "if any would not work, neither should he eat." That's not be take as permission to ignore those who can't help themselves, but we're under no obligation to care for those who are unwilling to do for themselves. Liberals see this dis-inclination to provide for the lazy as being "un-Christian." Compassion has its limits. People are rewarded for their bad decisions by our welfare state. A close family member was recently transferred to a trauma center in Houston after an accident. He has healthcare insurance. He sat there for over 24 hours waiting to be admitted as person after person came in, created a spectacle as is customary for their race, then were ushered away from the waiting room to receive care before this family member. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that these "patients" (who had no patience) had no such healthcare insurance. They were likely covered by Medicaid, or not covered at all. In America in 2024, you have to pay hundreds of dollars per month in insurance premiums, but it you get injured, you'll pay your copay at the desk and get the same treatment as someone who pays nothing for the same treatment... and they'll probably chimp out and get treated in front of you. And at the end of the day, my friend will end up with a stack of medical bills that amount to thousands of dollars in deductible expenses he's still gonna have to pay. Does that sound compassionate enough for you?
  16. Let’s be honest.. it’s all over but the whining. Trump’s gonna get beaten like the village piñata.
  17. My mom is devoutly religious… and she can’t believe that we’re about to end up with four more years of secular democrat policies. Policies that seem to be almost complete opposed to biblical teaching. She can’t understand why this happening to America. My thought is this… in Exodus, we’re told how the Israelites in Moses’ absence created a golden calf to worship instead of God. They were punished. That’s where I think we are today. Evil isn’t winning, “good” people are being punished for not sticking to their guns, but we’re instead willing to overlook all wrongdoing on the part of Trump. In my mind, anyways.
  18. Exactly. The Ds think Kamala won and the Rs think Don got cheated. The undecideds got a good look at what they’re gonna have to listen to for the next four years. Hope or Hate? Thats an easy choice.
  19. You told us last week that trump was going to easily win the debate… now it’s the ABC moderators that beat him? lol. Y’all were worried about the CNN moderators until Biden showed up semi-conscious, then crickets from the trump fans. I warned you, but you didn’t listen. Trump “won” the first debate because Biden looked like the Cryptkeeper. Trump performed badly there, too, but nobody was punching back. Kamala dotted both his eyes and flattened his lips for him. I wasn’t surprised at all.
  20. I see you’re already in excuse-making mode. pace yourself… you don’t want to run out of excuses before November. “Don’t you worry about me running out of excuses! I’ve got plenty!”
  21. I purposely avoided media/internet after the debate, more wanting to gauge the reactions of people who are interested... other than the Reagan-minded (he cleaned the floor with her!) perspectives, I found a few interesting points. Obviously Kamala voters were claiming a decisive win.. I felt like she won handily. Most reasonable people that I know were giving the nod to Kamala. Most of the "well, you have two choices come November and it's and easy Trump choice for me" posters were eerily quiet. The headlines on Drudge this morning were "Trump Demands ABC Be Shut Down for Daring to Fact Check Debate" because he actually said it this morning on Fox. [Hidden Content] "The Night Trump Lost It All" and "The End" were other headlines with accompanying stories. I can't remember hearing of an election cycle where a candidate basically won the election with the first debate, then lost it with the second.... but that kinda seems like what we're seeing. It was a bad night for Trump, no doubt. I guess the question is "how bad is it going to hurt?"
  22. It’s funny how people see the outcomes so differently… Reagan thinks Trump “exposed” her by saying “she’s the worst vice president EVER.” He’ll be posting tweets later “proving” that Trump is leading 65-35 in the popular vote and predicting a 400 point electoral college victory for Trump. My opinion was that she stood in the pocket and picked him apart… she did better than I expected, and he undoubtedly didn’t gain any new votes. There’s just not a lot positive that can be taken from his performance. He offered more anger, division, and rage-and she offers an alternative. He looked like he couldn’t be bothered to do any prep besides scrolling headlines on Truth Social.
  23. No… I’m talking about how OF refused to participate for seven or so years.
  24. If you want to call it that. No cackling… she’s just straight up grabbing votes.
