Closed door basketball.....what could be better?

The 35 does not surprise me.....the 0 does. What happened, turnovers?

PNG is not the only fans who leave early. It happens at every game everywhere.

I understand going for it on fourth down, but the way Ned's defense was popping that QB all night, I would not have run it into the heart of the line. They should have swept.....but hey, it's over and Ned's defense came up huge.

I'm hoarse today. Had a headache last night from hollering. I get in trouble for hollering or standing up.

Yep, you can't blame Benjamin for seeing wide open spaces and taking it to the house. What a run, and one defender had the angle and still couldn't close. In hindsight, if he had slid after the first down, we could have taken a knee. Greatvgame by the defense. If we can learn to cover the FB out of the backfield, we will be fine. ;D Lost containment on one play and the QB made some great yardage. PNG RB got a 15 yard TD on a great run, and their QB threw a couple long passes over the middle. That little sideline stuff can kove some chains, but none turned into huge plays. Really, other than that, PNG's QB had someone in his face all night. Great hustle on defense by our linemen.

Not a huge surprise. MCM sells out every year. I would guess about 13,000. This is not a percentage sellout either. It is SRO!!

After the play ended, we saw him limping and wondered what happened. The way he was limping on it, it appeared that he cramped up. Then he turned and went down and I thought he might have broken his leg. Wishing a speedy recovery for this man.

Ned's first INT was a bit high and it went through the receiver's hands and into the hands of the DB. The second INT was thrown to an out and the receiver took it up. I thought our QB maybe threw a bit high, but the balls were still catchable. Benajmin is the real deal, just needs one more block to spring him. I also like the running of Nelson (#5). He is very fluid and reminds me of Duane Thomas. Vidor, you had this game and earned every yard and point. Ned drove the length of the field with 3 minutes and 1 timeout left. This was a very good game, even if we had lost.

Gotta give Vidor credit for talking their team up. Funny, if Ned does that, we are arrogant. Both teams play hard nosed football. Should be a great game. Good luck to both teams.

VPirate, we can't look back either. Every year is different with new faces. I haven't seen Vidor this year, but I know they are well coached and play hard-nosed football. Ned plays with a never give-up approach and I love that. We have some injured players returning who will be difference makers. I hope for a well played, clean game, with no injuries.

This will be my first and only post on the late hit. When a QB is running for his best friend (the sideline), anyone in pursuit should see this and pull up no matter how fast they are running. If he is not running at full speed, then as a coach, I would question his play. Also as a coach, I would jump his arse for hitting out of bounds. Didn't see this. As for the Ned players taking up for their QB, please tell me any team that would not have reacted the same. Was he kicked, hit in the face, anything of this nature? No, he was pushed and he had pads on. Being slammed into a bench at full speed with concrete at the bottom is a whole different story. I've already given props to BH for outplaying us and winning the game.

It does not matter who either team has played so far. All that matters is Sept. 23rd. Ned will be getting some quality players back from injury as I'm sure Vidor will too. I'm ready, are you?

Hats of to their LB corp. Except for the hit way out of bounds, they played a very physical game. Ned had their chance to winin regulation, but it just wasn't meant to be.

I-10 to Beaumont is easier. Take the Port Arthur exit and stay on 69 south until you get to the Nederland Avenue exit. Take a left on Nederland Avenue and go to the second red light. Take a left. The stadium is right there.
