1. Bird also led the NBA in FT% several times. Late in the game with a lead, get the ball to Bird and the other team has to foul.......too bad!!!!! Bird was automatic.....91% lifetime FT. Wow, he could take the last second shot under pressure or make the pressure FTs to save the lead......or steal the inbounds pass and pass it to DJ for a layup for the last second win. What a player. I sure do miss him and so do the Celtics.

Neither can claim to be the better player. Wins and losses does not always reflect the play of these two. The Laker and Celtic championships of the 80s were the absolute best ever. I mean when you have Bob McAdoo or Kevin McHale coming off the bench......McAdoo good for 20 points, and McHale getting sixth man of the year, it doesn't get better than that. I would say that Magic was more athletic and Bird had more basketball savvy. Both made game winning shots throughout their careers. However, if the game was on the line, I would get the ball to Bird. Just know what I saw.
Welcome to the ranks of the "uninformed" ( and in the case of shooting, it was no contest)
No contest for sure. Bird was king of the 3 point shooting contests. Bird was the clutch shooter for the Celtics......Jabbar's "Sky Hook" was the go-to for the Lakers.

They lost because Kimball played better ball. Live with that. Yates is a great program now. They aren't better than Marcus, Travis, Kimball, an maybe Alamo Heights. Move on man!
Didn't I say that? Can't read either, huh? ::)
Maybe Yates ain't all that. What a great post from a losers perspective......DV. One possession or not, most basketball games come down to that. At least act like you do know that. I thought Yates was supposed to beat everyone by 40. Your only comeback will be to dis my team instead of admitting you were wrong.
Losers perspective?...what? ..I DON'T CARE THAT YATES LOST...I was talking about the game in general, which I thought was fantastic...don't worry...Your team will NEVER know what state feels like, so do not concern yourself with it.. ;)
Coming up with every excuse under the sun, and you don't care that they lost? BWaaaaaHaaaa. What a joke. Another loser's comment, and I told you that you would dis my team. DV was wrong!!! Yates is not Gods.....BWaaaaaHaaaaa. Guess they need to recruit from the Dallas area.

6. Locally.... Seafood: Floyd's Steak: Texas Roadhouse (grilled shrimp is killer too) Mexican: Cafe del Rio, Beaumont (great margaritas) If you are willing to travel about 60 miles one way for seafood, Steamboat Bill's in Lake Charles is the absolute best I have had. Try the crawfish pistolettes.......mmmmmmm good.
7. Fans defending their town and team? I've never heard of such a thing. Like I already mentioned long ago, I guess it depends on who is being defensive.
8. There goes the neighborhood. I predicted nothing. I simply watched others eat their words. I have noticed that anytime something does not happen for certain teams, then it was of no importance. But had it happened for same team, then it would be wonderful. Funny how that happens. Care for some baseball DV? We are good in every major sport.
9. That's the same thing people predicted the last two seasons.  :o
10. That's basketball for ya.
11. Jones can't be that good to win by one over a team from the worst district in the state. Maybe Jones just had a "bad" game. Lose by one, lose by ten.....same result.
12. Ozen lost out last night and one person, who shall remain nameless, but his initials are Dick Vitale, still hangs out on a Ned thread. I guess we can see who is important enough to be discussed around here.  ;D
13. ......just a side note: I have seen our freshman and JV teams in football not be leaders of the district, but when it came to playing varsity.....we'll that's a whole 'nother Dog! Same probably goes for basketball. We should become a magnet school and maybe some of the Yates crowd could live in RVs long enough to claim residence.  ;D
14. Sarcasm doesn't always come across in text but DV should have seen that coming.....it's the pot calling the kettle black.
15. DV....the epitome of class  ;D All in good fun DV.
16. Heading to Houston. Have a good day.
17.
Come on, guys.  let it go.  Have a couple of marshmellows with DV around a campfire.  He was only pulling yall's chain.
Not even close Soulja.
18. Look at who made the final post in each thread of importance to DV. There will be one after this one. It is the only Ozen thread he posted on. Most were on Ned threads. I am not sore about losing. You don't know me that well. I'm not even a basketball guy. Just pull for my team and community. You could learn a lot from that.

20. ......to misunderstand the comparison like someone I know.........now he's Bobby Knight! What a narcissistic personality disorder. Bobby Knight was never unemployed as long as you.  ;D All in good clean fun.
21. Got a big day ahead of me. My son is enlisting in the Navy....being sworn in tomorrow. Going to Houston to spend our last night with him. I can still find time to talk to my favorite people though. Ozen came to play last night and Nederland stayed in range but couldn't pull it off. Congrats on a great win over a quality team.
22. Tough to get ocean front property on the gulf, so no sale. You outsmarted yourself. Good luck tonight.
