I want to reform programs that help the poor to ensure that at some point the poor take advantage of the help they're getting and start to help themselves.

as for my insurance, premiums have increased $100 a month for me, despite being switched to a different insurance with higher deductibles and a lesser overall plan.  I have to be honest though, i'm not sure if this is a result of Obamacare, the poor financial practices of my previous school board, or both.

They will have a favorable schedule when it comes to their non conference and sec east opponents. The problem will still be the head to head match-ups in the sec west. Steve, it's my very strong opinion that if the republicans regain control, they'd do very well to remember why they do... economic problems, some scandals, and a dislike of presidential policy. if they forget that, and go overboard trying to push social agendas, we're liable to see another flip flop again in the next 4-6 years, if not sooner.

Craig, I asked who were you talking to. Big Girl's experiences are her own just as anyone else's. Her son is black, so she knows first hand how her kid has been treated. She didn't make the statement Barkley made. I agree with Hippy that many are too sensitive, but many on here think just because you agree with some statements of others that we totally agree with them. I can respect a Racist for being who he is, but I have a problem with the behind the scenes people of any race. Dr King's Dream will remain a Dream until we seek equality for All.

Now TVC, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the use of the word "people" clearly insinuates he's speaking of the black community. He uses people a few times. Now, whatever trauma he suffered from a few individuals who are black; shouldn't he confront those individuals?? Whomever he feels were an obstacle he should name that person or persons if he feels so passionate as he apparently does. All this does is fuel the Fire for ignorance, misunderstanding & stereotyping. This is the same guy who made money from Nike telling kids & parents he's not a Role Model in a commercial. I'd disagree about them being "hefty fines", but I do agree that they shouldn't be able to enforce them. I also feel like those who CHOOSE not to get health insurance but can't afford their treatments should not be treated at hospitals. dying of a simple medical problem because you're too cheap to get insurance? now THAT'S a hefty fine. consequently, healthcare prices would go down, insurance prices would go down, and many people would benefit if hospitals didn't have to perform so many free procedures.

Stopping flights doesn't work very well, its easy to get a flight through other countries, which can be tracked but can be difficult with current restrictions on monitoring american people.

So the media is definitely being irresponsible by praying off the fear of the uneducated masses. as they usually do. ebola is very serious, but it's incredibly easy to stop from spreading, or would be if they'd done things right with the first case. That being said, why are we still letting people fly to and from West Africa right now? And why would a nurse who's been treating a dying ebola patient for the last couple of weeks be allowed to board a commercial flight this soon after dealing with him, and after another nurse had already been diagnosed? that seems incredibly irresponsible on both the parts of the CDC and the nurse for that to happen. no common sense there. hopefully she was not contagious while on the flight. the one good thing about this disease is that there's an incubation time, and the carrier is not contagious until they exhibit symptoms, so every new case still gives healthcare workers time to isolate and stop the spread of the disease (assuming healthcare workers don't screw up and get it).

That is not entirely correct. 
 
You have the right to refuse service to anyone except if it is based on race, religion or national origin (maybe some others). Toss in the EEOC and employment and you can add in things like sex, age, sexual harassment, disability, etc. 
 
You can require people to wear shoes in your establishment, lay down safety rules, require people to not get rowdy, have some other form of dress code, etc. You can't legally say, "We don't allow blacks in here". 
 
Hence your statement that we have the right to refuse service to anyone is not correct. Basically you can if it is not discriminatory against a protected class and we all belong to some protected class.
