  1. When I saw they had Idaho scheduled, I felt for the new coach. No way they had any chance of being ready for that level of play. Idaho is a nosebleed program at that level.
  2. A lot of times. Which is why I much prefer dogs to people,
  3. We have age limits on district judges in this state. You can’t run again once you turn 75. So I guess you could be in office until you are 78 and 365 days. I think we all agree the presidency is a little more important. I think not being able to run once you turn 70 (for president and congress/senate) makes sense. Just my personal opinion. Same for scotus (retire them at 70).
  4. I think both of the Eastern European guys were both assistant coach Charles Harral recruits.
  5. Guar-ahn-tee you Eurey has his eyes on that Kansas bag!
  6. Funny thing is Jared blew up last summer playing with Silsbee at the TABC in Duncanville. But that guy will tell it differently to anyone who will listen. As if people can’t look at the offers and see when they started to roll in. He’s such a moron he got his team kicked off the pay to play division of the under Armour circuit (UA Rise - basically told we don’t want your money) because he verbally assaulted Paul Biancardi in Dallas because one of his kids wasn’t ranked in the top 100. That same kid couldn’t find the floor at TCU and transferred down to Tulsa (which was his level to begin with) after one season.
  7. I saw that clip too 🤦🏻‍♂️ Google his name and Dave Bliss
  8. My guess would be Arkansas, Alabama or UofH. But he’s been attached to an absolute clown show in the summers so who knows?
  9. Saw the Butler kid play a summer league game Sunday and was on the red eye with him that night. Was very impressed with his game.
  10. Even those Georgia Bulldogs know: [Hidden Content]
  11. Clayton Allen (Class of 90). Played at D1 at Drake. He was the best of the post-King Cotton guys. Wanna say he led the state in scoring his senior year at Buna too.
  12. Congrats to Orangefield (#16 in 3A) Lumberton (#19 in 4A) and Huffman Hargrave (#22 in 4A) for finishing the year in the top 25 in their divisions for the Lone Star Cup! The Cup represents overall athletic excellence across the board (like the NCAA’s Director’s Cup). Well done to the athletes at these schools. [Hidden Content]
  13. Still hard for me to believe Kolten Mackey never played college football. Better than a LOT of kids who did.
  14. One of the best performances I’ve seen at state on any level. He refused to let his team loose. The same could be said for Braelon in that regional final against Yates. It’s was just an incredible performance where he left everything he had on the floor. Is this team talented? Yes. Have they done anything remotely close to those games? No. I guess you can whine about the teams coming out of Dallas or you find a way to beat them. One team did. One team hasn’t. End of story.
  15. A HUGE reach would be putting it kindly. Some people don’t like being wrong. That’s okay. The teams Silsbee ran out there the last few years wouldn’t have beaten that Dallas Carter team either. Or the 2017 Silsbee team either 😉. And those Yates teams were considerably better than BTW imo.
  16. I just don’t think there will be anyone better in the region. BTW maybe but I still like Silsbee. However, with or without Miller, the “this group will be better than the Adams, McCain, and Bush teams” statements we were hearing a few years ago hasn’t aged well. As I suspected then, was clearly nonsense and based more on wishful thinking than anything else.
  17. Most of us probably have them as a favorite to go to State. That’s thinking they will be pretty darn good.
  18. No argument here about SEC baseball being the gold standard and I would agree with you (at least I think you would agree) that the SEC has been more dominant in baseball than football. Just stating when you add arguably the bluest blood in the country in baseball, the rich get even richer.
  19. But to give the Cardinal their due, they are the only school in the country that consistently has a better overall athletics department than Texas. So there is that. (Although recently Texas has gotten the best of them.
  20. In the last 4 decades, Texas has 3 titles, 5 runner ups and 18 CWS appearances. And for accuracy sake, Stanford only has 2 nattys period (both in 80s) and 3 runner ups period. Texas has 6 and 6. Stanford has a great history but they ain’t Texas.
  21. But it’s like adding Kentucky to the ACC or Big 12 in basketball or Ohio St to the SEC in football. No matter how good the league is, those additions significantly move the needle. Except in basketball, you have Kentucky, Kansas, UNC and Duke and then everyone else. In baseball, USC obviously have the most titles but in the last 30-40 years, it’s Texas and LSU and then everyone else (in terms of nosebleed blue bloods).
  22. BTW will be solid again. Lost some good players but return their best player. McDermott probably second best player in region behind Harris. But he’s a big - I will always take the high major guard over the HM big at the HS level. Usually just way more impactful. But they will be a test for the Tigers anyway. As for Carter, I’m hearing WT White had the best recruiting off season. Look out 5A.
  23. Really solid showing by the Lions.
  24. Read about this on a plane last week. Immediately thought of Hagar.
