I haven't watched the link yet, but I'd say "no."  It's kinda hard to tell the flock that 10% of what they earn belongs to God (tithes) if you expect people to live in a society where they earn nothing.

Easy there big dog. I’m certainly not taking anything away from Coach Briles, as he’s obviously a great coach, but so is Coach Finney. I’m simply saying that Briles is not starting from scratch and is going into a pretty good situation. Coach Finney did an incredible job there at MV, as he’s done at every place he’s been. I think we can both agree that there are plenty of great coaches out there that don’t have a state title on their resume. All this being said I’m glad to see Coach Briles get a second chance and I don’t think there’s any doubt he will be successful.

Five sudden deaths labeled “respiratory failure”.  I’m no Dr. but respiratory failure sounds a whole lot like, stopped breathing.  A tag you could put on almost any death.  What is so concerning, it sounds like several died relatively instantly.  There are 3 deaths in the Dominican Republic, and 2 deaths in Fiji.

No thank you from me.  Consolidation means losing your community identity, kids getting lost in the shuffle, teachers losing their jobs, long-long-long bus rides.  I am a product of that school and a proud alumni.  Just out of my class you had a chemical engineer, a financial aid director, several teachers, banker, law enforcement, successful business owners.  You and you alone are responsible for how serious you take your education.  Sports have been down, but eventually they will cycle back up.  If Chester combined with anyone it would logically be Colmesneil.  North Tyler County Piney-Wood Rooters (wild hog).  I just don’t see that ever happening.

More info you may be unaware of . Over the last 3 years there have been up to 6 of Woodvilles starters were originally from Chester including their star RB Zack Martin.

Not many good young coaches  will want to teach and be AD for pennies and high fives. 

Colmesneil does not like good coaches.

As they probably had to name him AD as well, it is not unusual that he would not teach.

I don't recall Briles being found GUILTY of anything.  If I remember right, Briles wanting to fight the allegations but then decided not to.  This piece in Forbes was a hit piece by an apparent dweeb. This ol' boy looks like he got his lunch money taken from him when he was young and couldn't do anything about it.  I bet he votes Democratic!  Anyway, In the article, he bashes Trump.  Then he bashes the Texas legislature.   Then he says, " Briles

"   Concerning this, I had the same feelings when people wanted to railroad Joe Paterno!  Art will do a great job at Mt Vernon.  And the citizens will have nothing to be worried about.
