I don't care what Tarkington did last year, they are a pitiful program. They are even more pitiful than Deweyville. If you don't understand Dville, then you cannot possible understand Tarkington. EC can keep HF, I understand the rivalry, but they should be pressing the BCs and Jaspers, and WOSs of the world for pre district. They will see that level of competition in the playoffs, they might as well get a taste of it early. You have to make up for the Hardin's and Warren's of the world that will await them in district.

I have a 6+ and still get stopped by the popups. I guess AAW will consider it a real issue when it drives the site traffic down.

I hadn't heard that Haynes went to Westbrook. Last I heard he had been hired as OC at Kountze.

On a side note, with the hire of Williams and Haynes at Kountze ISD, is Joubert in the beginning stages of building a coaching dynasty? Seriously, think about it.

Who cares why they moved. If this area is ever going to beat the metroplex teams in December, we need lots of move ins. That's what they do up north. School as success, kids begin to move in. I say bring them on. Lets build a contender in Crosby!

I know of a couple people that moved their kids to a smaller school for their senior season to get more playing time. I also agree that high school is usually the last competitive sports played for the majority of kids. I have no problem with a parent and kid choosing that route at all. I do, however, have a problem with someone labeling the former school as having "politics" involved when it comes to playing time. Sounds like sour grapes imho.

You were running it down by saying your kid is now at a school where the coaches play the best kids and there are no politics, but we can agree to disagree on that.
 
By politics in Lumberton, what are you referring to?  I don't know a single kid on the varsity roster who did not deserve to be starting or playing as much as he did.  Same with baseball, basketball (girls and boys), track (girls and boys), etc, etc.  And like I said before, I have kids that have not started or been on the A team.  So if someone was going to see it, I think I would be in a good position to experience and feel that.  Please elaborate on what your experience was that made you feel that way.  Am I saying that LISD can't improve?  Absolutely not.  And that goes for academics as well as athletics.  But I think parents blaming politics is a bigger problem than actual politics. Just my opinion.

Then why involve that observation in the discussion of the move?
 
Would your son still "ask" to move to Evadale because of his friend being there even if he was playing 100% of the time and was the star player at Lumberton?

I'm only implying that you might have a victim mentality because you said, "He is loving it. No politics and the coaches play the best kid for the position....."
That would imply that the school district he attended previously did not play the best kid for the position and that there were politics.  We can only go by what you say on here, not what you are thinking.
I think it's fine to "have a pair and control your own destiny".  Just don't try to run down the program that you left once you are gone.

Coaches hang their livelihoods on wins and losses. To assume that a coach is playing another, less talented kid over yours due to politics, is a short sighted assessment. Your kid plays at Evadale because they are 2A and not 5A.

Kinda hoping it ends up in HTX. Only a 20 min drive from the house!!

Just trolling a little. I've actually had my eye on Arnold since he was a freshman, tearing up the field against HD. I remember being bewildered that he was sharing time with the other QB, since he was so talented. I wish him the best of luck.

Babin is quickly developing the reputation of a job jumper. Is he the type of guy who plans to sit down at a school and create something, or is he always looking for the next best opportunity? I guess we will find out with Lumberton.

That would be the worst mistake they've ever made. He's have no issue getting a better job immediately.

Hopefully they will move fast if they're going to let him go. I hear there is an opening in Lumberton. This is a guy who will have no issue finding a better job.

IT IS GETTING HARDER!  Used to be 98% great parents, now I will just say the percentage is less :D . I still love what I am doing, but in 5 years I CAN retire. Don't know if I will, but if the % grows too much more.??? 

23 years...wow. I think I'd rather get fired than put up with idiot parents and kids for that long.
