PNG will be fine. Remember last year Crippen didn’t look all that great in the beginning of the season. Then everything started coming together. New coach, new philosophy. Now Adams takes over and hasn’t been a QB for three years. Joseph has his way of doing things and the first game of the season is about how the QB reacts in certain situations and he may call something that will purposely put him in that position just to see how he reacts to it. Adams didn’t have to read coverage or get guys lined up in the right position. Now he does so it will take a little while but he will get there just like Crippen did.

PN-G and Nederland tops 13k just about every year. They have had in excess of 15k to 16k in attendance when a district championship or anything else of significants is at stake. This is the best rivalry anywhere. The atmosphere is unexplainable when these two take the field against each other.

First off PA needs someone to come in and get kids interested in playing baseball. They only had 10 kids in the whole program. It starts with the Little Leagues and the ones PA has are in shambles. Some people have tried to get kids excited about it but failed. It’s all about getting the parents interested in baseball. The parents are centered on Football and Basketball because that’s what they know is the strong sports in their school and better shot at getting scholarships in those sports.

I had a nephew play for Liberty Hill. I watched games where they didn’t even mention throwing the ball. Liberty Hill is one of the top three teams in the state if not the top successful teams that run the slot T. I would say 2%! of the time they pass is about right for them. It may be even a little high.

Somewhat true. The girl that’s dad caused all this was a senior. She was on JV last year and didn’t play very much and had not played very much if any this year. Plus the girl missed a week of practice prior to this game just because she wanted to. PNG had to win that game in order to have a play in game for the playoffs. So the coach was thinking about the team and not about an individual. So sorry somebody’s feeling’s got hurt. It was a very immature incident and nobody has talked about the little girl who got landed on and broke her leg because of this idiot. The dad is banned from anymore PNG sports. Should have charges against him because the video doesn’t show him throwing Fbombs and poking the coach in the forehead. That’s why her husband came out of the stands and confronted the dad.

Not being rude, but you can talk to him all you want. If he tells you any different then what I said he is lying. It was seen and heard by everyone there. As for his daughter missing practice for a week. That was told to me by a very reliable source who is very close to the situation.

He isn’t saying anything about the number of students each school has. He is saying that the athlete’s at PNG come from Groves. Even the ones now that are from Port Neches. Most of their parents grew up in Groves. So they still have the Groves gene. Like it was said before in a different thread. Port Neches supplied the school and Groves supplies the athlete’s.

Coach85 got a reaction from Rez Ipsa in Should UIL go to a three year stadium rotation for football state games?
The reason the attendance was down in NRG was because teams outside of Southeast Texas and Houston area don’t travel well. So yea the attendance is going to be low. When they don’t travel UIL doesn’t make as much money. That is a big issue. So in order to make money they accommodate the Dallas area teams so they don’t have far to go. I personally believe this is crap. Just because those teams don’t travel well all of the other areas have to go and spend their money just so the fans in the Dallas area are happy. I know some of the schools in that area say they can’t afford to travel. I can kind of understand that. Hell SOC couldn’t even afford to buy a uniform to fit #99 so everybody in stadium got a very unpleasant view of butt crack every offensive snap. But there are teams in Southeast Texas and the Houston area in the same boat. Why can’t we accommodate them? If I had to guess Jerry has a lot to do with this and the deal he has created with UIL.

Lamar’s basketball program is the same as it’s football program. It’s a dumpster fire. Brooks is a good coach but with the shape it was in when he came in and lack of funds it will take a while to build anything that would be remotely competitive. I personally believe that Lamar could be a worthy sports program if the powers that be would let it. If they would realize how much revenue they would make in this area by putting more money in the sports programs and putting successful teams on the field/court. This area would start supporting them more. Nobody wants to go pay money and see their hometown team get humiliated.

Shea may not be the QB next year. There is a Freshman coming up that was on the sidelines all year that has a very good shot at taking over. If he does take over this will free Shea up to do what he did this year and be placed anywhere on the field. With the coaches having a year of knowledge of what he is capable of, just watch what they come up with to get him the ball. It could be real fun to watch.

He is a dual threat. I love Crippen but he is a pure pocket passer. If he gets into the right offense in college he will do very well. This Freshman can run and throw on the run. He will need to acclimate hisself to the speed of the varsity level. It will be interesting how these coaches evaluate the situation at QB next year.
