  1. anybody have an overall foul count? what the crap!?!? HJ is doing the complete opposite of what they usually do, which is come out hot in the 3rd!
  2. so correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't this HJ's biggest half time lead since the playoffs started?
  3. That's how you win HS games. Great half for the hawks!!!
  4. anderson is gonna have to step up. that's no good that ricossa already has 3.
  5. that's better! it would be nice if HJ went into the half with the lead for once i'm so used to them having to come from behind!
  6. dang, i was reading the posts. at the bottom of the page it was 21-11, but by the time i got to the top it was 21-19! Come on Hawks!!!
  7. Silsbee also beat Jasper by over 40. my main point is this: you have someone talking about how Central is a better job, better team etc, and basically that Silsbee couldn't compete in 4A. the problem is, Central was beaten by that 3A school by over 20. also, have you ever heard of the term "what have you done for me lately?" now i don't know a whole lot about Coach Rice, but I do know that a lot of your lack of success has been since Ozen became a full high school and started dominating the area. maybe the smaller selection of players, and the elite players' desires to go to Ozen has had as much or more to do with things than Rice. (again, i reiterate, i don't know the guy)
  8. Jonathan Papelbon is apparently still unhappy with Manny Ramirez. Papelbon reportedly calls Ramirez a "cancer" in the April issue of Esquire. The Boston Herald and MLB.com reported the Boston Red Sox closer's comments on Thursday. "It just takes one guy to bring an entire team down, and that's exactly what was happening," Papelbon reportedly told the magazine. "Once we saw that, we weren't afraid to get rid of him. It's like cancer. That's what he was. Cancer. He had to go. It [stunk], but that was the only scenario that was going to work. That was it for us." The Red Sox dealt Ramirez to the Los Angeles Dodgers at last season's trade deadline after a messy divorce, in which the Red Sox felt Ramirez, who had a pair of $20 million team options slated for 2009 and 2010, was trying to play his way out of town so he and his agent, Scott Boras, could test free agency during the offseason. Ramirez eventually signed a two-year, $45 million offer with the Dodgers -- the only team known to have offered him a deal. "He was on a different train!" Papelbon reportedly said of Ramirez in Esquire. "And you saw what happened with that. We got rid of him, and we moved on without him. That comes from the manager, and it comes from guys like Jason Varitek and Tim Wakefield and David Ortiz. Nobody is ever going to be allowed to do that." "So Manny was tough for us," Papelbon reportedly added. "You have somebody like him, you know at any point in the ball game, he can dictate the outcome of the game. And for him not to be on the same page as the rest of the team was a killer, man!"
  9. Well, since you asked, way more than what Central has done in 4A. In the 5 years that Silsbee has been in 3A, they have reached the regional tourney 4 out of those 5 years. Three times to the regional finals and a trip to Austin. Other than this year when they were upset by Jasper in the regional semis, those first 4 years the regional winner had to go through Silsbee. The last 2 years, not counting this year, they were knocked out by the eventual state champion, '07 to HJ in regional finals, '08 to Kennedale in state semifinals. So, it hasn't just been this season that the Tigers have had success here of late. Yes, 4A playoffs are tough, but give us another 600 kids to choose from on top of the 800 we have now, and I am quite sure we can do just as well or even better than what Central has done lately. I doubt it, Mike. not me! 1 point loss to 4A power Ozen, 20 point win over CENTRAL, 50 point win over 4A Dayton, 3 point OT loss to 5A playoff team West Brook. the 21 point spanking of Central ought to be enough to end this argument. If Silsbee is 21 points better that Central, why wouldn't they have more success than them at 4A? add the 600 or 800 kids to the pool, and surely Silsbee's team is even better.
  10. The guy scored 29 straight points against them! 29!
  11. meaning they can't fire him for being a Christian. or a Muslim. or whatever. They can however restrict his right to openly tout his religion at the workplace.
  12. another example of what tvc is trying to get through to you. you have the constitutional right to freedom of speech. still, if you're at work and call your boss an idiot, you'll be fired. the government may not be able to stop you from calling him an idiot, but your company can set policy that denies you the right to do so.
  13. Raider you have a ton of questions about us just messing around. I'm sure bullets would not punch babies. This is all smack talk, don't take it so seriously. Bullets and I would never punch a baby, but kicking them is a different matter he's right. i wouldn't punch a baby, but i might punt one, especially if i was at someone's house and they were watching a spurs game while watching christmas carols
  14. the mavs are my favorite team. i just wish they hadn't had 25 off games already.
  15. it's hard to explain. the only thing i dislike more than the spurs are christmas carols
