get out the brooms! a HUGE sweep of the halos this weekend, and now the rangers are all of a sudden 9 games over .500 for the first time in 4 years, and have a healthy 4 1/2 game lead in their division!!!

i'm afraid the dream ends today, but i'll be honest, i haven't given the rockets a chance all series, and they've continued to prove me wrong. do it again, rockets!

Another HUGE win for the rangers today, 5-3 over the halos.

Rangers beat the Angels tonight! Final was 10-8. The Angels rallied for 5 in the 9th with 2 out, but the Rangers pulled it out. The Rangers have won 5 in a row, 11 out of 13, and 15 out of 20. That's some seriously good baseball, and they're doing it on the strength of some REALLY good starting pitching!

not counting two two-game series that they've split with the A's, the rangers have won 5 straight series in a row, including sweeping the M's this week. if they can keep this trend up and win their upcoming series with with angels, they'll increase their lead.

rangers have won 8 of 10, including a bunch of wins over Seattle who WAS leading the division. they're currently up 1 1/2 games over the angels after two come from behind, walk-off wins in a row against the M's over the past two days!

i NEVER liked him, and i don't believe he did a very good job, BUT... i felt like he handled 9/11 really well, and i was thankful he was in office during that time.

he's top 10. at times, he plays like a top-5 player, but he's not consistent enough. for instance, he's been a top 5 player in the playoffs this year, IMO.

i hate the heat and humidity! my inlaws in georgia had a high of 74 today....

suing a prosecutor because a grand jury no-billed a case? what a joke. i do like his response to the lawsuit from another news source. "I won't be told when or how to present a case. I won't be told what evidence to give or not give to a grand jury. I also will not be told which grand jury that I can or cannot give a case to."

he would've been better served to separate himself from bush by playing on his reputation as a moderate, rather than suddenly changing stances on several key issues to appease the conservative vote. i think his first fatal mistake was going from a "maverick" to suddenly waffling on many of his policies and ending up looking like Bush, part two. His second fatal mistake was choosing Sarah Palin as a running mate, as it came off appearing as a gimmick pick, especially as her lack of knowledge and abundance of questionable decisions in Alaska began to come to light. I'm a liberal democrat, but when McCain originally threw his name into the hat, I felt like he would be a reasonable option if he won, as he was fairly moderate. As the campaign went on, he seemed more worried about keeping the far-right conservative vote than winning voters that were on the fence.

race is not an issue in this case. it amazes me how some folks try to make EVERY issue a racial issue. if anything, had he been a black officer, he may never have been fired so that the department could avoid possible allegations of racism.
