  1. and back to 12. 7 minutes left.
  2. Rogers makes a layup to cut it to 10.
  3. Hawks on a 16-5 run without Parquet. Pretty impressive. Still wish he was on the floor.
  4. 52-38 after 3. HJ has won 2 quarters. That 2nd quarter was a killer!
  5. Hawks with a little run to cut it to 50-34, Hawks ball after a Silsbee turnover.
  6. yup. HJ's first five can hang with the Tigers. Unfortunately for the hawks, Silsbee's SECOND 5 can hang with the Hawks' first five. With HJ banged up and in foul trouble, this went downhill quick.
  7. Parquet's hip just flared up. It's been bothering him. HJ has had a history of coming back and making things interesting in these, but if he can't go i don't see that happening.
  8. yeah, HJ has no chance with Parquet and roberts on the bench. impressive shooting by the tigers as well.
  9. 40-22 at the half. HJ didn't score the last 5 minutes or so once parquet went out.
  10. Depth has made all the difference, much more so than the ability to run, or even the shooting.
  11. 38-22, Hawks outscored 21-4 in this quarter.
  12. another 3 for Silsbee. 36-22, a minute left in the half.
  13. HJ in bad foul trouble. 8 fouls called on the hawks, 3 on parquet, 3 on rogers, and 2 on roberts.
  14. HJ has gone cold, and silsbee got hot quick!
  15. another 3 for the tigers. they've got 6 in the game, and 3 for 3 in the last 2 minutes. 33-22 Tigers, a couple minutes left in the half. HJ is a different team without parquet on the floor. that's silsbee's big advantage. you can't get their studs in foul trouble, because they've got 4 or 5 more on the bench.
  16. 30-22, Tigers. They're on fire from deep.
  17. Parquet picks up his 3rd with 6 left in the 2nd. Tigers up 26-20
  18. Also, when you talk about HJ's three championships, only one is really relevant in this thread. In all honesty, both schools coulda shoulda probably won 2 each during the last decade. Once you make it to state, anything can happen, and both schools advanced there and lost winnable games over the stretch of this rivalry.
  19. Silsbee has more talent on a yearly basis. HJ has had better coaching IMO, which has made a difference, and has AT LEAST one stud every year capable of keeping a game close.
  20. Silsbee has won 13 of 17, and I'd argue they were favored in at least 13 of those 17 (probably 15 of 17). To me the impressive part of it all is that even though Silsbee has consistently had the better program for the last 7-8 years, pretty much every game has been close. on paper Silsbee should've probably won 13 of 17, with several blowouts. That hasn't been the case
  21. Silsbee is supposed to win this game, but they weren't supposed to lose to HJ for 6 years starting last year, and that lasted for 1 game. HJ has Saladin and Parquet, who can play with anyone, and a couple of bigs down low that can dominate the paint. HJ can't run with Silsbee, but they have the quality to slow it down, and run SOME with Silsbee. I picked silsbee to win a fairly close one in this thread, and I stand by that. I like HJs chances of winning better than Silsbee's chances of winning by 15+, as some have predicted

  23. I could see it being a taunt if they were playing a game against a mostly Hispanic school. And in that case I would find it inappropriate. Not sure about this case, though.
