  1. wow. defending 4a champs can't repeat in 3a.
  2. The UIL isn't correct either, because it has one of their losses to lancaster in district as a win, and their loss to South Grand Prairie as a win. Maxpreps has them at 18-10. It doesn't have several games on the schedule that the UIL has. So I guess their actual record is 24-10?
  3. I don't think everyone will stop, but a lot will. I would be willing to bet that if you took those 20 people to somewhere other than a vaccination center some, if not many, of those people would not be wearing a mask. I go to the same convenience store 2-3 mornings a week. They've had a hard mask rule since all this started, and wouldn't let people shop without one. I never saw anyone without a mask on in there for a year. I went in with a mask today and the cashier and all three customers were without. Literally the first place I went under the new rules. It's definitely going to lead to some spikes in sickness. On top of the no masks restaurants and businesses are going to be allowed to pack a lot more people in on top of each other.
  4. I hope I'm wrong as well. But the last I saw less than 10% of the state is fully vaccinated, and about 10% has been diagnosed with covid. I think we can confidently estimate that at least 10% more have had covid and not been diagnosed. That still leaves a LOT of people who're at risk. There are a lot of people out there who are ready to go out and act stupid. I guess we can hope that that rate won't increase much from the rate of those that were already doing so.
  5. I could go back and check the uil records, but i don't have the patience for that.
  6. Logically of course our numbers are going to shoot up. Hospitalizations and death rates as well. It's common sense. Remove all restrictions, open everything back up, don't wait a couple of more months when everyone who wants to can get vaccinated... the numbers are going to soar. Now it's up to each person to decide how much risk they want to put themselves (and their family members they can bring it home to) in, but it's awfully tough on those who don't have a choice but to go to work only to have to face hoards of mask-less shoppers/customers. Masks certainly help, but they're far from 100%. You get exposed enough, mask or no mask, there's a good chance you're getting sick, especially if the sick people you're encountering are spreading it freely.
  7. BU should win, but I think Kimball will give them a game. That 18-10 record looks bad, but some of those losses were to #3 6A, #4 6A, #1 6A Private, #1 5A, #1 5A, #10 5A, an independent Lewisville school that plays basically an AAU schedule all over the country, an unranked 21-6 6A squad that went 3 rounds deep, etc. There's maybe one bad loss on their resume, and a TON of experience against high quality teams. They've also beaten 5 straight ranked teams to get here, including Lancaster and Amarillo. BU is going to have to show up. I'll take BU by 9, but it could get tight if BU isn't playing well.
  8. I’m hoping so. Argyle is HH but everyone is bigger and taller. Gonna be a tough game for Huffman, but a better matchup that FF would’ve been
  9. Me too, thanks. Argyle has a kid looks about 9 ft tall
  10. Very impressed with how they came back. Wasn’t looking good there for a minute
  11. Harvey showed his quality at the end of the game, and Huffman showed a ton of grit to find a way to win. I didn’t know if it was going to happen with them giving up that 8-0 run to start the 4th.
  12. Good half for Huffman. They’re basically playing a mirror of themselves. Gotta hope they win and argyle wins and they can play another low scoring game in the final
  13. Huffman playing very well. So far they’ve looked the better team by a fair margin.
  14. BU got these boys wishing they’d just gone ahead and lost a close one in the regional finals
  15. Those good small schools will definitely draw players in from the other small towns around them. But it also comes from a whole program that buys in from elementary school on up. I guarantee those kids in that town grow up shooting baskets and playing one on one hoping to play for the high school one day. It also helps that Dallas and Houston ISD have yet to decide that winning a 1A basketball championship is prestigious enough. Once they do we'll start getting Nazareth vs. Dallas or Houston (insert new school name) in the 1A final every year.
