  1. Will you be allowed in with your credentials?
  2. I mean, it was a 50% chance they’d draw each other. Considering there’s about a 90% chance both teams will have all new “completely legitimate move ins” over 6’6” next season, I’m glad they’re facing each other in the semis and a school that legitimately sources it’s players will get a (slim) chance at winning a state championship. And if by some small chance the UIL rigged the draw, which is highly unlikely, I’d be willing to bet Yates and FF’s means of procuring players is the reason, not the color of those players’ skin.
  3. Argyle and Yates would be interesting. Argyle is 26-4, and has broken 80 once all year, and 70 on 5 times total.
  4. It seems like the uil bracket on the website automatically pairs them when the results are in, but then they’re redone when the state brackets are released. Could be wrong though.
  5. For what it’s worth, Fairfield rolled through their semifinal game, then beat Argyle 40-39 in OT to win the championship.
  6. No worries. They’ll be returning 90% of other schools’ scoring next year
  7. 32-29 with a minute to go in the half
  8. They have a winnable game against OSU this weekend at home (15-13 record), then will get a winnable first round game in the big 12 tourney. Winning one of two gives them 20 wins, and they added three quality wins to their resume in the last 10 days.
  9. Despite OU attempting 29 free throws, and Texas attempting 2, the horns hit a 3 at the buzzer and win 52-51. They should be just about into the tourney now after being dead in the water two weeks ago. 5 straight wins, including their last three against ranked West Virginia, at ranked Texas tech, and now at 18-11 OU.
  10. Texas up 1 against OU at OU with 1:32 left in the game. They just took their first two free throws of the game. OU has attempted 21
  11. After trying to insult people about their inability to understand, it’s kind of ironic how badly you’re understanding Steve’s question.
  12. Man. 31 fouls seems a bit much, even for a physical game
  13. Texas just managed to beat Tech in Lubbock. They had a stretch of 10 games where they were 2-8. All of a sudden they’ve won 4 straight, with back to back wins against ranked opponents, and are 18-11. They could mess around and make the big dance.
  14. Another solution would be classifying schools based on their player pools, not their school enrollment. So in instances like this, where a district is clearly allowing students to transfer schools for athletic purposes, or allows kids to choose any school in the district regardless of their residency, have them play in 6A since they’re forming teams from thousands of kids (or tens of thousands), not the 700 or 800 zoned for their school.
  15. Probably be a senior heavy team next year, too. And the year after that. And the... you get my point.
  16. When you find the secret to growing 8 inches by spending more time in the gym let us know. That’s the only way small school high school teams are going to be able to compete with these big city junior college squads.
  17. Hawks up 56-40 after 3
  18. Fairfield won 86-60 to move to 32-4 on the year.
  19. HJ girls were down 1-0 with 15 left and came back to win 3-1
  20. Jasper boys won 4-1. jasper girls lost 2-0. This is a far cry from the jasper girls we’ve seen the last several years. They must’ve had a lot of seniors graduate last year.
  21. But they can’t, which means it’s unfair system.
  22. Only if they show some respect and put in the 3rd string
  23. The only hope HJ has is that it’s been a couple of months since Yates has played a decent team. Hopefully they come out cocky and ready for an easy win, and HJ comes out with a chip on their should and plays a near perfect game. HJ is a quality 4A squad, but then again, Yates is good enough to go to state in 5A. I expect Yates to win by 25-30. If HJ pulls this off it might be the most impressive win in the school’s history. But they play the game for a reason, and I’m rooting for a miracle.
