  1. Texas man fatally shoots neighbor, continues yard work after disputes over dog, officials say (msn.com)
  2. Mavs with a massive win with Luka still hurt last night. One of the more incredible performances I can remember, to be honest. They hit 22 triples (at a 47% rate) and only turned the ball over 3 times the entire game. It's not common to feel like the home team stole one at home, but that's what happened last night. Hoping Doncic is ready to come back before the next game.
  3. Saw where they offered Dotson. Smart move to do so early, although I kinda think his ceiling might end up being a little higher than the cards.
  4. not sure. he had a couple of good seasons at HJ and BC with special groups of players, but as the talent dried up at each of those schools, so did the wins.
  5. whatever the current head coach at the time runs. I don't really know them to make hires based on the offense the coach likes to run, although that might have changed some after Dubois had so much success with the slot-T his first stint there.
  6. yup, it's tough. and even tougher is any qb with prospects probably isn't going to stick around and play for a 4A school with a team that has been mostly bad to terrible since 2002 or so.
  7. Professor who refused to use student’s pronouns wins $400K lawsuit with Ohio college (msn.com)
  8. Carjacker beats up 72-year-old, takes car, only to die in crash, police say (fox8live.com)
  9. Holmgren would be a mistake. Dude is 7 ft tall and weighs 89 lbs. He's going to get bodied down low, and he's not a good enough shooter to stay around the perimeter. I just don't see how he turns into anything more than a mediocre sub in the NBA.
  10. I hear you. Lots of variables here. What if the passenger didn't have any money and wasn't going to purchase anything, but was just along for the ride? Would that change anything?
  11. Diversity advocates mistakenly accuse black DJ of wearing blackface (msn.com)
  12. seems to me if they can't arrest you for being on your way to buy drugs, they can't negate your right to self-defense. because you're not committing a crime, you're on your way to commit a crime. but who knows. I've seen a lot of stuff on social media about the possible shooter being some thug who's been involved in two other murders, but I can't verify that. If I were BPD I'd be setting up some interviews with some folks in the comment sections, though.
  13. Sounds like some folks from Beaumont were just passing through on their way to Silsbee to buy drugs. I thought it was pretty funny how all of the Beaumont race baiters popped out of the woodworks to sarcastically talk about "get these thugs off the streets", thinking Lumberton's first murder in however long was white people. Then it turns out it was some hispanics from beaumont, and they all disappeared from the comments real quick.

  15. Celina and Heritage had a wild final. Heritage scored with 3 minutes left to tie at at 3, took the lead in the first OT, then Celina tied it in the second OT at 4-4. Celina ended up winning the shootout.
  16. phenomenal season for Lumberton, it's just a whole different ballgame when you get out of our region. they ran into a better team today, who I expect to lose in the finals.
  17. you called it. I was afraid it might end like this when Lumberton only played them even with that strong wind at their back. per the announcers it sounds like Lumberton has struggled to even get the ball past midfield much in the second.
  18. Teams evenly matched, or is lumberton controlling things like they did at regionals? I’m at work and can’t watch online today
  19. Grambling State University Defends Volleyball Coach’s Decision To Cut Entire Team (msn.com) Sounds like she screwed a lot of kids pretty bad.
  20. 28 Colorado features to be renamed, stripped of slur from titles (msn.com) no more "squaw" in Colorado. For what it's worth, many Native Americans really don't like this word, so this change is actually probably reasonable.
  21. yup. the only issue is how bad the voting can be (two different years I got a superlative award in soccer over players who played my position in my district and they made the supergold team over me with lesser stats, but were from the "right" schools). it's always a problem when you're picking a team out of players you've seen a few times or not at all, but at least they don't just give it to 50 area kids and water down the honor. they do tend to do better in bigger sports, and in general i'm sure it's improved some as coverage has over the last 20 years.
