phenomenal season for Lumberton, it's just a whole different ballgame when you get out of our region. they ran into a better team today, who I expect to lose in the finals.
-
you called it. I was afraid it might end like this when Lumberton only played them even with that strong wind at their back. per the announcers it sounds like Lumberton has struggled to even get the ball past midfield much in the second.

Teams evenly matched, or is lumberton controlling things like they did at regionals? I’m at work and can’t watch online today

28 Colorado features to be renamed, stripped of slur from titles (msn.com) no more "squaw" in Colorado. For what it's worth, many Native Americans really don't like this word, so this change is actually probably reasonable. -
yup. the only issue is how bad the voting can be (two different years I got a superlative award in soccer over players who played my position in my district and they made the supergold team over me with lesser stats, but were from the "right" schools). it's always a problem when you're picking a team out of players you've seen a few times or not at all, but at least they don't just give it to 50 area kids and water down the honor. they do tend to do better in bigger sports, and in general i'm sure it's improved some as coverage has over the last 20 years.

You'd do well to remember that, if we're honest.

It's the rallying cry of this board, but as you and I keep trying to tell folks, it's not going to swing anything at the polls.
-
he didn't. he made a point, and i replied with one. it was not a threat in any way. my post that he quoted was a general statement to everyone, that we need to speak to each other as adults.. he took exception to folks who disagreeing with him being referred to as adults. I was merely stating that as long as he can talk to them without insulting them, then he has nothing to worry about.
-
when people's version of pointing out the truth is calling someone stupid or a moron, then yup. that comment wasn't directed at you necessarily, but i quoted you since you apparently took exception to me asking folks to talk to each other like adults. I don't recall you doing anything that I've ever thought needed a warning or a ban, and we interact a decent amount on here.

Three Teams Left... Playoff Schedule for 4/8

fantastic result for the raiders. I've watched a few of their games, and they're just on a different level than anyone in our region. I originally thought Bay City would be the team to end their season, but after watching Lumberton completely dominate Lake Belton, who were the only team able to defeat Bay City all year, I liked their odds. Unfortunately I had an insanely busy weekend and forgot about this game. I would've liked to have watched it, but look forward to seeing the raiders in the state semis against Midlothian Heritage. -
well, insult them and get a ban, or disagree with them respectfully and don't. I've removed, warned, and given bans to several folks over the last year, and things have gotten better on here. I don't want to see things devolve back to the way they were before, with people constantly insulting each other and getting into childish pissing matches.

Lamar heading back to Southland Conference
bullets13 replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in Lamar Sports Forum
I'm not sure what they can do. The whole area surrounding lamar is impoverished and crime-ridden. Not only do college students have to travel all the way across town to find anything to do in the evenings, they have to travel nearly that far to get to where it's safe to walk to your car after dark. I commuted to lamar for a year, and never had any desire to spend any extra time up there. My buddies thought it would be a good idea to get a house together just off campus, until they were broken into twice in six months, once while they were inside sleeping. and this was nearly 20 years ago, and things have only gotten worse in that area. I taught less than two miles from lamar for the last ten years, and just can't really see anything at all that would appeal to students to choose to attend from out of the area. -

EC’s season comes to an end as they lose 3-2 in overtime. Great sportsmanship at the end of the game as several Salado players consoled some of EC’s seniors. Hate that I didn’t get to watch this whole game, looked like a great one from what I saw. -
