  1. It appeared the wind had a factor in this one. KP that relies heavy on the run seemed to be a little more comfortable pounding the rock and wearing down Crosbys D. If they play that style against Dayton it should be a cakewalk. Also the QB for Crosby seemed to buckle under pressure. Whatcha think MEN?????

It may not have looked good but he was 12-24 for 197 and 2tds with no turnovers, that's goood enough to win with. Allen going out hurt his efficiency too IMO. I don't think he buckles under pressure, he's just reluctant to leave the pocket and that's something people in Crosby aren't used to seeing. The gaudy offensive numbers will be back next year, this squad looks a lot like the '09 team that were undefeated district champs and lost a close one to Dawson in the 3rd round. Merka managed the game like Cotton is doing and Crosby is playing solid defense like that squad did. The offense will come along.
  2. Well, after you see when the first game of the season is, this is usually the very next one you find. However the pundits want to believe we got here, fact of the matter is that Crosby is 6-0 and still has even more room for improvement. The Angleton game showed that the Cougars are worthy of what accolades they do receive, but what Crosby is running into now is every team's best shot.

I personally thought the team was a year away and some games that's how Code Red has looked, the '15 squad is going to be crazy. However, when your sitting there with four games left in the season and you're undefeated sitting atop the SETX poll. . . It's hard not to think this could be the year to make some noise.
  3. I think Crosby needed a couple of games like this to get them ready for tougher ones down the road. Not that you ever want to play badly, but it does get your squad used to making plays in pressure situations like the Crosby defense did on 4th down to end the game. Also saw a few key guys banged up on the sideline.

Crosby gets two weeks to get healthy and prepare for Dayton, while Dayton gets the headache known as KP before they come to Crosby. I thought Crosby looked a little flat tonight at times, you can bet the farm that won't be the case on the 17th. Dayton should be Crosby's only relatively competitive game for the next month before King, if Code Red handles business in front of the big hone crowd there's going to be an epic finish to 21-5A this year.
  4. Man, people walking out of the stadium like we just lost. I guess people have started to expect more from the home team. If Crosby doesn't clean up the personal fouls and sloppy redone play it's going to be tough to get out of the second round again. I guess that my one excuse is that Crosby never plays well on Thursdays in Turner. Starting back went out before halftime also, need to figure out a way to keep the run game going when he does.
  5. LQ, Median and UQ (some people call them Q1, Q2 and Q3) are all measures of location. That is to say that they all tell you something about WHERE a distribution is. -" would rank in the bottom percentile on a bell-shape curve " this is what I said keep it in context I know its hard to do with your condescending ego !  I guess when your wrong you can always become the grammar police to save face kind of childish don't you think ? GO BRONCO'S  !!!!

You can keep reaching man but if you knew what you were talking about it would've been clear in your first post. I'm not wrong about anything but if you try to correct me on something I can start correcting you and point out other things you don't know or are wrong about. This isn't a school board so I don't care how who spells or punctuates what as long as I can sound it out or follow your point. I don't have to save anything guy, you can probably tell we're on two completely different levels when it comes to anything academic so at the risk of sounding more "condescending" I'll let you have it. Hopefully you still remember where you put your welding leads, see y'all in a couple of weeks.

  6. this has absolutely NOTHING to do with it!! PAM played a 5a team, not 4a, in GR that would have beaten any 6a team. i agree with the coaching mentality

GR lost to 6A Friendswood already who in turn lost to Kingwood for their only win of the season. GR runs it at PAM can't stop it so it was a bad matchup from the start. Don't be surprised if GR loses to Foster in district, then Elkins or Ridge Point in the first round. The Houston metro is pretty solid this year as far as 5A squads go.

  7. Cam I'm just as confused as you. I was putting up the stats to show how bad the defense has been.

According to most people on this site you can't base anything off statistics. It makes you look stupid when you actually use data to form opinions. You have to do it like I said and use the SETX prediction equation to give you an accurate outlook on your squad. PAM's defense really is very good, you can't base anything off yardage allowed or ppg. At least this is what I've been repeatedly told when I form my opinions using statistics.

  8. In the last three weeks, the Titans have allowed:
    1,636 Total Yards
    1,063 Rushing Yards
    170 Points
    That's an avg of:
    545 Total yrds per game
    354 Rushing yrds per game
    56.6 Points per game
    That is unreal!!!

These stats don't mean anything. If you want an accurate depiction of how your team is playing you need to multiply your gut instinct x tradition divided by the prior decade's win/loss record. It doesn't make sense for you to base your opinion off the statistics that PAM is putting up this year, the equation I gave you above will get you a lot closer to the truth, just ask some of the people on here.
  9. Lower or bottom quartile ,25th percentile not that difficult you know the place where Crosby's falls when you graph their win/loss ratio with Dayton over last 10 yrs.

Lol. Like I said, you had no idea what you were talking about. Being "on a curve" and "in a quartile" are completely different places. If you have trouble punctuating and spelling sight words though that's to be expected.

Once again, my current stats and trends have become obsolete in favor of the more pertinent 2005 win/loss record you had with different coaching staffs in place. SETX logic at its finest right there.
  10. Oh please dare to enlighten me with your pseudo intellect then we can all have a good laugh( you can even Google it ) ----  When its half time  and your team is behind the coach walks into the locker room and says " Listen up team don't worry about the score board thing we have better numbers than the other team statistically speaking there's no way we should be loosing  now go out there and just keep doing what you been doing lets make that spread sheet look good for the Chronicle !

I don't have to google it. I'm an Economics major and studied it in depth before I got my undergrad degree. In a normal case a percentile or percentages would be displayed on the lateral axis within the "opening" of the bell-curve, the way you meant "bottom percentile" though was in reference to a point on the curve. The top of the curve is normally the highest frequency and means "most average", not best or top percentile which is why your comment doesn't make any sense unless you were trying to reference a parabola. But hey, what can you expect from a guy that can't even spell losing properly?

I post stats and give MY analysis. I'm sure the staff could care less about them and focus more on W's, which they have plenty of lately.
  11. The only one who brings up stats everytime is you. But it's ok. Wait for ur loss is all I can say.

And why will Crosby lose? Is there something that Dayton does better than Crosby this year? Do they have better players or a better coach? Do they have a home field advantage this year? Or is the answer the typical, "because Dayton usually beats Crosby"? Wait, I know what it is. You just got a feeling, huh?
  12. Seriously doubt any fan base has one iota contribution to the making of a perennial power no matter how sophisticated the glorified stat chitter chatter is. Sometimes you talk yourself into a corner that post didn't make any sense and would rank in the bottom percentile on a bell-shape curve even for you .

I guess I needed to simple it up some for you? Some of the better coaches in the state are starting to use analytics instead of "win one for the Gipper" speeches to put up W's. I see the fan base comment passed you by too. If you don't use data to validate points you're trying to make then what do you use? On this site people would rather make predictions in blind faith instead of do research. Your win-loss record from '98 means more than the ypg you give up in the eyes of most posters is what I meant by the fan base thing. Like I've said prior, Crosby has lost only one of their last 20 regular season games. If me explaining it using statistics is "talking myself into a corner", then so be it. Maybe when we go 19-1 over the next 20 you'll try to find a corner to talk from too?

The bell-shape curve comment is comical, if I thought you had any idea what you were talking about I would enlighten you on "percentile at the bottom of a bell curve".
  13. When discussing stats one tends to only hand pick the certain stats that show why one's chosen team is best. One tends to disregard the stats that doesn't agree with one's opinion. As this one knows stats are for fun but doesn't mean that one's team will win because their stats are better....lol

I think people pick the stats that provide the data to back up their theories. EVERY analyst at every level puts data with his opinion/thoughts/prediction when they give it out. Rarely do you hear guys say they think one team will beat the other due to uniform color or tradition. People here don't seem to get that which is also part of the reason teams in SETX in the bigger classifications aren't perennial contenders anymore. There's more advanced thinking going on around the state than the "rah rah" mentality that permeates some teams down here.
  14. You always turn to stats every chance you get here is a Stat vs. Score comparison for you.

    September 21 2012

    Dayton vs crosby

    Dayton 438 total yards
    Crosby 481 total yards

    Dayton less yardage wins 45-21

Total yardage isn't the only stat that matters. Crosby had three turnovers to Dayton's 0. That pretty much summed that one up. Since you brought that up though, to look at Dayton's record recently. They ain't winning many games where they give up copious amounts of yardage or have inefficient qb play.

King has a balanced attack and can use Tray in different ways.  However, there is no I in team.  With this years team it is a case of pick your poison.

No doubt, King looks versatile. I just see 7 offensive points the last couple of years versus Crosby's defense and feel confident about how they matchup with King's offense. Crosby does well against the run and so far in district play opposing qbs are 9-43 with 2tds and 5 picks against our secondary. Lots of work to before a matchup with King though.
  16. no doubt about it Twin was a good back but having played against him in games and then having to go up against Tray only when he was a freshman in practice there's no question in my mind who the better back is. From my knowledge my senior year at king we held crosby to 8 points at halftime , we just couldnt score. With that being said Tray will score at least twice against crosby

Once Tray gets to 6000 yards it will be a discussion. It's a little premature to compare their status as high school backs now. Austin put up some of his biggest numbers in Crosby's biggest games, Tray's numbers get padded on bad defenses. He is more highly recruited because he's bigger and projects better though.
  17. I guess we will see at bi district coug.

We will never know the outcome of a Crosby vs Vidor non district game. Crosby is too scared to play Vidor after that whipping they gave them in the playoffs...lol

*correction* they're too afraid to play IN Vidor. ;)

No disrespect, but I don't think Vidor is very high on anybody's list of non-district matchups. Crosby played two high profile games against perennial power Ned and an area top 10 matchup with Angleton. Crosby has only lost once in their last twenty regular season matchups so I highly doubt anybody's scared, just the higher-ups being cautious perhaps.
Like I told My Two three years ago, congrats, it will be your only playoff win for the next 5 years. Two years down and you dont have a win this season so I'm looking good on going 3-3 with that one. On a more serious note though, Vidor is the only team to beat Crosby in bi-district the last 6 years. Maybe you can celebrate that since you didn't get to celebrate your win?

What are the higher ups cautious about cougar??

As you can see, I was replying to the "Crosby is scared " post from the Vidor fan while also replying to MBG's "correction" of it. Like I said, this was total news to me that Crosby would be scared to play somebody "IN" anywhere due to a loss three years prior? The higher ups comments was pure speculation on a prior post.

    Higher ups cautious of what?

IDK, I wasn't aware we were afraid to play a team with like 4 or 5 wins the last two years "IN" anywhere. You'll have to ask MBG I guess?
