  1. King and Crosby in both polls? Dave's and Old Coach! Wait for it.... statster will have some numbers to throw out there, as to why King should NOT be ahead of Crosby... Like I said before.. Look out Crosby there is a new cat in town....

Crosby is 10 spots ahead of King in DC's. King is 3 spots up on Crosby in the AP and the Old Coach. So anxious to include me that you didn't even pay attention.SMH.  I do have some numbers but I don't see anything wrong with King being in front of us in some polls, maybe I would have an issue if we didn't get a chance to prove it on the field in the season finale. With BH looking like they bowed out, that means Crosby will play D2 so after the "Collision on Crenshaw" we'll go our separate ways.

King will house anybody they play in bi-district but then get an epic 2nd rounder with either Elkins, Ridge Point, Foster or George Ranch who have only 1 loss among them while the D2 path is much easier this year. If King and Crosby both stay undefeated it could very well be a top 10 matchup to end the regular season is what my stats tell me.

  2. no no no wrong team wrong color and wrong mascot... Might wanna talk to your buddy statster AKA cougar14 AKA coug8bronco (which not sure why he came up with that screen name AFTER) Dayton beat Crosby that year.  Most everyone knows.. Dayton is like a box of chocolates.. Ya never know what your gonna get.... I just hope they have tasted all the nasty ones and savor the rest of the season on the good ones (wins) Lord I hope I dont have another meeting after the game for the Forrest Gump reference

I'm beginning to think you like mentioning me because of my polarity, maybe someone will agree with you? I didn't say anything of the sort though. Matter of fact if you go back and read the thread it was someone from Dayton who was asking why I didn't think we would smash Humble and I said because I thought they would be pretty solid among other things. April, you need to make sure there's no lead lining in the still. It starting to make you delirious.

  3. Hate to hear about BH getting a thumping but so glad I'm not watching and going insane. Should have beat Dayton in Dayton last year when Gage couldn't get a 4th and 1. Then there went straight down the field.
When you have limited legit athletes and you don't use them both ways when needed and the game ends and those athletes are on the sideline with half a tank of gas left in them. Well like I said before, you don't deserve to make the playoffs. That group of sophomores is loaded but they need a new coach with a good system before they get there.

Of course I'm extremely biased but I'll throw a name out. He's and old Crosby standout who's name was in the hat for the Ozen job but was passed over for a recycle and took a job at Lytle instead. He had been the OC at Dobie before that and has Lytle undefeated right now. His name is Damian Judge and Ozen should be kicking themselves right now for not hiring him. Not sure if the BH board would approve him as AD but he's probably ready to step back up to a bigger program. If Gage decides to leave BH, they should at least give him a call.

  4. Coug,
That 6'3 stud is learning the Golden Rule.
Just as Ketchum was told but refused the move to receiver , Jeremy Smith is no longer the starting QB and has been moved to receiver in favor of Cam Roberts-Jackson after just 2 1/2 games.
Madison (1-2) "should" win district but may not...NO coaching. If he was any good wouldnt have been a 16 year assistant under Seals. Madison has recruited talent from Worthing and Westbury but still not good.
Short 5'10 sr qb = all running plays
Tall 6'6 athletic so from Worthing HS w/rifle arm = passing plays but coach wont play him due to the senior.
Ray Seals was at their last game vs Terry ....he needs to get back on the sideline.

I agree with what you're saying, I just think you're downplaying Marshall and basically Foster for that matter. Marshall just got through playing Foster in non-district last week only to start district play this week with a three game run of Ridge Point, Texas city and last year's (6A/5A) playoff team in FB Bush. Other than the Georgetown and Lufkin districts there's not a harder run of 5A games in the state. Watch, Marshall might be playing for the region for the second time in three years. We'll see though.
  5. I'd like to talk to him personally. You"ll wish@ 65 1 day you could do & remember what I can.We should golf 1 day for a nice bet per hole, you'll remember how a old senile man remembered how to play the game ;) :D

One day at Brock I paired up with an old man walking with his clubs for exercise. I outdrove him by about 100 yards a hole on average and shot 82 or 83 . . . he then proceeded to beat me by 11 strokes while taunting me the whole time. I don't think you would surprise me, especially at a short course. Whenever I get off nights and if it's not too cold I'll gladly wager you. You have to at least play from the white tees too. I was taking money from guys like you when I was still riding my bike to the course Tex. If you win we'll just be even from the steak you're going to owe me after Crosby gets to 7-0 against Dayton next month.

  6. What??I don't figure like you,there's pre-season,(regular season=dist),then playoffs season.2014=2 reg season wins & 1 probable this week=2 *2013 =7 reg season wins,1 loss SC =7,*2012 6 reg season wins & 2 losses Dayt/SC=6 *2011=5 reg season wins & 2 losses to Dayt/Bayt Lee =5 **Grand total of 20 reg season wins,1 probable this week,and 5 losses in 3 seasons + 2014 wins(current 20-5 since 2011 regular season

???? Man I talked to someone who used to be on the school board that knows you and he told me you were getting senile. Regular season means non-playoff games. There were 5 consecutive wins to finish 2012, 9-1 in 2013, and about to be 5-0 this season for a grand total of 19-1 of the last 20. You definitely don't/aren't able to cipher like me.

  7. Dang we got lucky as hell putting up more pts(28) in 2nd qtr@ Neds house(packed fans)Crosby w/25 total & boomshaka-laka 21 pts 1st qtr @ Barbie's Hill's house(Crosby 30 tot for the game w/no multiple tds per qtr. vs Ned/BH).How did that happen, surely Crosby D is better, the O'line is better & all them D1 kids on offense, and Crosby won both in front of the home crowd :D :D I gotta get me some Cougar (Enron) stock

Sometime you do get lucky. I'm sure if Crosby got 20 penalties for nearly 180 total yards we would have had more points too. It's not like your offense put up more yards or held them to less or anything, Ned just played worse. You're right though, our lines our significantly better than Dayton's and we also have the best interior lineman in the state for his class. Crosby's front will maul Dayton and probably rush for 400 more yards, you have Humble and KP first though so you should probably focus on not losing to them again this year before you come down 90.

  8. Marshalls recruiting well ran dry two seasons ago....and the last of them (Crookshank and Sheffield) are seniors.
They are running the same offensive sets four years straight. If they dont work in the first half coach comes out after half and trys them again.
Hell , i can call the plays from the stands. In their regional final playoff loss to Manor the Manor d-line was telling Marshall the plays they were calling and coach says keep running them....when Ketchum audibled out he was benched and that fight continued last year. Now that the talent pool is down the coaches are getting exposed. Kids are quitting and some going over to Ridgepoint.

The well is dry? They're not producing the 5 or 6 D1 kids per class like a couple of years ago but they're still extremely talented. What you're saying is that even though Manor knew the plays that Marshall was still good enough to win their first 13 games of that season and were up in the 4th quarter on Manor. Crosby was knocked out by Manor that year so I just happen to know they were also pretty darn good that year. Marshall would rarely lose district games if they played in the SETX 5A coverage area. They will probably lose three regular season games this year but they'll all be to highly ranked teams which isn't anything to be ashamed of.

  9. Well, I guess I should say that Marshall didn't play very well with 5 TO's. They also lost their QB from last yr to another school, correct? And barely beating Madison doesn't look real good for them either, IMO. A&M Cons is 0-3. Not that they can't turn it around, but...

Foster forced the turnovers, they're a defensive team. Yes, Marshall lost their qb to Lamar but his replacement is a 6-3 junior stud with an offer from Michigan St. among others. Madison is also solid this year and will win their district in HISD. It's also the home to players like Vince Young, Courtney Lewis and Broderick Thomas to let you know what kind of talent they keep on a regular basis. A&M Cons. is about to run off about 10 straight if that's any indication of how they're going to turn it around.

  10. Some of the individual numbers are wrong for the district leaders but I believe all the team totals were input correctly. Pretty dominant numbers for Crosby's defense, Humble is second and the recent score reflected that.

  11. And Dayt O/L easy 280# across, always better than Crosby on special teams(non Stat category)

There's a difference between 280 lbs finesse pass blockers and physical maulers which is what Crosby has. Crosby is more physical than Dayton in the trenches which is where Dayton will have issues with Humble, we also have the state's best interior lineman in his class. Dayton probably does have a special teams advantage with McBride returning kicks though.
  12. Marshall is not very good. 5 turn overs and a blocked punt last night vs Foster. I think Foster is the beneficiary of a soft schedule, that really shouldn't be on paper. A&M Consolidated was supposed to be really good, but are 0-3.

Marshall isn't very good? They were 13-1 in 2012 with a bunch of sophomores. They were 8-3 last year but their first round L was against George Ranch, their other two losses were in district to FB Ridge Point and D1 state semi-finalist Stratford. A&M Con. is going to win their district uncontested and probably play for the region against Elkins, Ridge Point or Foster. Foster was the only team to beat Brenham last year before the title game and held them to 10 points. Early on, Foster looks to be the best 5A team in Region 3.
  13. This one is simple. If Dayton can stop Terio Brown, they win and pretty much secure a playoff spot. If not and he puts up Trey Williams-like numbers it could be a long night for Bronco. He's the exact type of scat-back Dayton has struggled with recently. I don't think Dayton will have as much success running the ball as they did on BH which will keep it close. Probably the biggest game in the district so far as it pertains to playoff places.
  14. I don't know how cougar14 can explain this one.
Kyle mc. Bride (the only weapon we have) scored 0 offensive touchdowns. So if he is the only weapon that we have how did we win a game that he didn't score any offensive points?

Like I already answered. Dayton had efficient qb play, they also ran the ball better while stopping it better. The same thing I've posted about Dayton probably 40 times where is " stats don't matter Coug." I don't think it's a coincidence that when you rush for over 200 yards, for the first time I can remember recently, and your qb completes a high percentage of his passes that your team plays well. Congrats to Dayton for staying in the playoff hunt.
  15. You have to commend WOS for playing up to a 5A d1 school but after seeing what they did to Marshall last, who's probably the d2 favorite in the region, I don't think this will be much of a contest and that's no knock on WOS. Not only did they destroy Marshall they also hammered A&M Consolidated in College Station. Many of the experts outside of Houston had A&M Con. picked as the favorite for the 5A d1 title. Elkins, who is probably the rightful #1 team in the state had to go to double OT to beat them but Foster beat them by 3 tds.

IJS, Marshall has about 10 d1 kids including a 5 star of their own and just lost by 29 at home last night. All props for WOS playing the game, it can only make you better barring injury. Southeast Texas is about to get their 2nd taste of the 5 teams from FB County I've been telling y'all about the past 6 months.
  16. I want to hear stat mans take on how it was a fluke

It wasn't a fluke. Dayton got good qb play which only happens about 50% of the time which is why they're 2-2 and sub .500 since he's been a starter. BH got down early and hasn't mastered the forward pass to be able to catch up and that's the result. Do Humble and KP like that and maybe you can get some credit. I'll reserve my take for after the Humble game next week.

  17. The start of the first excuse "playing down to the competition" Earlier in week 3-0 Humlbe was powerhouse and now they say Crosby played down to them. So when the lowly Broncos come to town the foundation for why the kittens lost will be laid out.

When did I say Humble was a powerhouse? When 9210 asked me why I do t think we would score 40 on Humble I stated weather conditions and them "eventually getting it together" with the athletes and enrollment they have. I think Crosby is a lot more than 7 points better than Humble which is why I say we played down to them. Crosby didn't play their best but Humble is probably going to seriously challenge for a playoff spot. For what it's worth, their defense was only allowing 8.7 points per game.

Humbles's sophomore back, Terio Brown will rush for 200 yards when he plays Dayton like every good back they've played recently has. His worst game to date had been 20 carries for 155 yards, last night he had 21 carries for 74 yards which was all but 16 of what Humble had as a team. I'm not sure he even has a rivals page yet and I'm telling you he'll play high major D1 football. He was pretty much shut down last night and I think Crosby's defense has some medicine for Williams too.

After KP beat down Galena Park the way they did, if I was you I would worry about the playoff reps. not being King, Crosby and Humble ISD. As bad as it sounds to say, that win last night basically put Crosby in the playoffs with NC ISD and GP still on the schedule barring something catastrophic.
  18. liltex and I was at the game and was not impressed with either team !  Humble had no offense but had a scrappy "D" (Humble is small) - Crosby was big in trenches but got out played by smaller quicker Humble.  Crosby had good RB's ,WR's are good at dropping passes and the QB makes poor decisions and throws in coverage a lot he's a better runner than passer.  Dayton will beat both of these teams !

You just described Dayton and their qb to a T. The only difference is Dayton is bad in the trenches, bad on defense and can't run the ball when team stop the bubble screen. Humble beat y'all soundly last year while holding you to 10 points and their defense is even better this year plus they have a decent rb and Dayton can't tackle. If either of these teams was playing Dayton they would just line up and run it down their throat the way EVERYBODY did last year and continues to do this season.

The same CV team you thought was great almost got beat by Vidor, they held them to less points and scored more than Dayton did in their contest. I don't know how you could watch your team give up 60 in two of three games and say you'll beat anybody other than the NC schools and GP. To date you've had bookend losses of 34 and 45 points and the team you play today would probably be favored if there was a line on it. You can keep pointing out reasons that we suck, we'll keep pointing to the scoreboard like y'all used to do whenever y'all were winning.

  19. Good thing crosby has tackling talent on defense & a good run game. The passing game not as advertized.Came away thinking both Humble & Crosby are beatable.Again another game where stats were not as close as the scoreboard ended.A win is a win.Congrats

Three interceptions with a bunch of drops and penalties will make it look like that. It seems like Crosby is playing up or down to their competition this year instead of playing their game.
