  1. I don't think Crosby has any problem moving the ball on Dayton next week. KP just rolled up over 550 yards of offense. There were plenty of Crosby people at the game and I'm sure most of the coaching staff was too. If Crosby doesn't blow coverages or turn the ball over the way KP did I think they could roll Dayton in front of the home crowd.

  2. Tray williams is 4 stars FYI . And what years did Chance Casey play ???

Alexander was 2 stars. Casey graduated in '09. I believe he's on a roster in the league playing DB somewhere. I was trying to tell people about Tray long before he had his first offer just like I'm trying telling people about Terio Brown at Humble. The great backs aren't hard to spot, IJS you're putting him in rarified air before he has the pelts on the wall.
  3. You guys are so myopic in your analyses of Reg 3.  Nobody out of 21/22 5A will make it past the winners of 23/24 5A.  George Range and Elkins will be waiting....

Where did you see anybody say we would? Elkins is the only team that can't be beaten if they play their game, GR can be beaten the same way Friendswood already did this year. We'll see Friday if they can even beat Foster. I think Crosby, King and Central all have the personnel to match up with Foster, GR, and Ridge Point. Of course we would all be underdogs to any of those teams so it's a good thing we would get to play the game.
  4. Non believer in crosby defense until it shows it can slow down a central texas team from running the football. 300 from manor and close to 500 from Elgin.

It won't be the CenTex region that causes Crosby problems this year. It will be the multitude of D1 backs the Cougars could potentially face in the second round from one of the Fort Bend schools. The difference between those schools vs Elgin and Manor from the last couple of years is that other than Elkins they don't have the qb play to go with those potent running games.

If Crosby gets anybody other than Elkins, Ridge Point, Foster or George Ranch in the second round I think they have the defense to play for the region.
  5. My bro Tray Williams hands down. He just makes everyone look slow. Can catch , is explosive, will run inside and outside, and if its a race to the endzone its automatic 6. Ohh and will probaly go to state in triple jump. In my opinion he is the best back (old 19 4a) district has seen since Alvester Alexander from Ce king

That's funny how he makes everybody look slow but he can't get the edge on good teams. Couldn't get it on New Caney either. I'll just chock it up to your limited football knowledge though. Anybody who thinks a 2 star back with one D1 offer is better than Chance Casey who started 4 years at Baylor and had multiple Big 12, Big 10 and Pac 12 offers is really not even worth educating. Even with that being said, Austin Walter is still the best back to put on pass in this district the past decade.
  6. We've had some good running backs in our area but Williams is on another level.

You must not have seen the 6000 plus rushing yards Austin Walter put up the last three years. Williams is the real deal but he puts up his big numbers on teams like Magnolia, Tomball and Porter. Last year when him and Walter went head to head I don't even think he made the stat sheet at all while Austin had 12 carries for 253 yards and 4 tds at halftime. He's the real deal but he needs to show up in the big games. He's averaging 10.5 ypc through 5 games but has only played one playoff caliber team, Austin averaged 13.5 ypc over an entire season with 6 of the 12 teams he played being playoff teams. Williams also gets the ball about 5 or 6 more times per game than Walter did. You haven't watched much football around here if you think he's separated himself like that already.
  7. "they were always that bad"……. i stopped reading after that statement.

Have you been to a Memorial game Coug14 this yr, last yr, 2012, 2011 or 2010? Just asking.

Nah, but I've watched most of their stuff on VYPE and on youtube recorded off that channel y'all have over there that's like our KUBE over here. What did PAM do the first two weeks of the season to make you think otherwise? Blank a team with half the enrollment that would finish in 8th place over here, a squad with a new coach in his first game? Hold a Central team to 14 points that had 7 on a sub-par SC defense with 6 mins to go in the 4th quarter? Just asking? PAM was suspect on defense last year against decent teams as you can see from the 47 ppg they gave up last year in their 4 losses. I don't need to attend games to see that. If I needed a homer's opinion I would ask my co-worker who attends every single PAM game when we're not on T/A.

You've been wrong on about 75% of what you've said so far this year while I'm batting over .900, I don't know why you would even question this knowledge I'm dropping on you?

  8. Ive seen it.first hand, you absolutely cannot compare PAM weeks 1-2 to now. Not dogging you just making it clear the differences between the memorial team that was 2-0 to the 0-4 skid is so vast.

I'm not comparing the team, I'm comparing the defense. Blanking Ozen isn't really anything to hang your hat on, new coach with a new system much like Ned did Crosby in 2012 when they got a new coach. Central played them better the next week. In week 3 as the film came in PAM's defense got even worse. They were always that bad, it's just that now teams have film and know how to exploit them. It also coincided with them playing teams in their own classification. The offense has actually improved since the Central game.

  9. But King stomped Dayt, make sure we hear w/a good comeback when Dayt gives Crosby loss #1 :D next week

Crosby had some starters out against KP but will be back at full strength for Dayton after our bye week. Riordan is already a better coach than Hancock and now he has two weeks to prepare for the bubble screen and the slant over the middle. If I was you I would be worried about losing your homecoming game instead of buying Crosby fans steaks next week.

  10. CE King scoring avg 61 ppg  *rush 2026 *pass 938 * played 5 gm *Defense allow 18 ppg  **Like King better

Crosby   scoring avg 32.7 ppg *rush 1352 *pass *1168 *played 6 gm *Defense allow 13.7 ppg

King has played one decent defense so far and was held to 374 total yards. They leave their players in longer and they've padded stats and ran up big numbers sub-par defenses like Dayton, Porter, Tomball and Magnolia. Crosby's offensive numbers will look a lot better too after we get to play NCISD schools and Dayton. Also, the title of the thread was about defense and Crosby has played better defense than King against a harder schedule to date.

  11. Coug14: What's your take on Ned/Central both with and without Seay? Ned played pretty well against Crosby(and the backup QB got some experience) then played poorly against Dayton and Clear Lake. They have looked good in the first two disutrict games, similar to the way they looked against Crosby. How do you see this one?

With Seay I think Ned has a real shot at winning and maybe to the point of a pick 'em if there was a spread on the game. Without Seay Ned's offense is pretty pedestrian and will struggle to win individual matchups against Central. Much like our recent game with KP, Ned's backup QB made some hay against us because there was no game plan for him once the starter got hurt. That, along with the fact that Ned probably played their cleanest game of the year. Last year a guy like Kimler who had 5 catches for 135 could threaten Central on the outside, this year Ned doesn't have that type of edge personnel to keep Central honest.

Ned has to win this game with defense. Central being held to 14 points by a bad PAM defense and 21 points helped by 3 turnovers by an equally as bad SC defense at least gives Ned a good statistical chance. Like I said though, I'm not sure Ned has the personnel this year to exploit Central's weaknesses.
  12. Who you getting your info from? So because KP beat GP by ONE TD more than Dayton.. KP wins against Dayton?

No, because Dayton could only muster 265 total yards with the home refs on Humble and scored 0 points in the second half against GP. If Dayton plays KP the same way they did Humble they will lose. KP rushed for over 330 yards on Dayton last year and also had 2 pick 6's on defense. I don't see anything that has changed between the two to say it won't happen again.
  13. KP over Dayton. Dayton was held to 265 total yards and 13 points at home against Humble. KP has an equally good defense and plays better offense. Rhone is out for the season and I was told there's another kid that plays both ways who probably won't be able to contribute this week. KP beat GP 44-0 while Dayton won 38-0. Baughmann also tends to turn it over when pressured and KP will bring plenty of it. If KP plays clean they win this one on Dayton's homecoming.

    Kingwood Park 28
    Dayton 24
  14. This is the correct poll. Elkins is the rightful #1, Foster, Ridge Point, and George Ranch are numbers 5, 6, and 7. Unreal. If Texas City beats Bush in district play it's likely that two of these teams are eliminated in the first round. One of the winners will get #3 Temple down the road.

I also found it interesting that district 25 has 4 of the top 16. That district could potentially produce both semifinal reps.
  15. After a day of thinking about it.

What a job by that Kingwood Coaching staff. They really planned two seperate offenses in a week versus the Cougars? They put in plays designed to switch the Quarterback in and out between two different guys with variant skill sets?

Holy Crap how did the cougars escape that game we shoulda lost Kingwood out coached the hell out of our guys this week. Normally doesn't happen but damn it did.

IMO KP has the second best staff in the district. They do more with less every year and are rarely blown out of games. Crosby helped them with several costly personal fouls but that's no excuse, KP came out ready to play the second half and Crosby just tried to go through the motions. Nice to see we're good enough to just go through the motions for a half and still win but later down the road performances like that could get us beat. Hopefully that was a wake up call to the squad, almost ruined their 11 game regular season winning streak.
  16. They probably going D1. If bh makes it in then Crosby would go D1. It probably won't happen, but Crosby fans will have a pucker factor until bh is eliminated for sure on a playoff spot. Lol

Pucker factor? Lol. Y'all suck man, you'll be lucky to win 4 district games this year. Trust me, nobody is holding their breath over anything going on in the Hill. Crosby going d1 would probably also give them a first round layup with GCM. I guess because y'all kept it within 30 this year that you think we suck but fact of the matter is Crosby advanced the farthest they had been in a while playing d1 and that was with less than 1400 kids so I think the Cougars are fine either way. Good luck during girls basketball season though, after buying Charlie Collier from us y'all should be the favorites for a couple of state titles.
