You’re actually correct in that assessment. Big government spending seems to occur no matter which side holds the reins. The difference is what they’re spending money on. Environmental costs (i.e. Green New Deal), social and welfare programs and increased minimum wage will be the Democrats big ticket items.

Because ultimately the expected upfront spending from a Democrat controlled administration will be huge and it will boost the market until businesses begin an earnings decline because of the restrictions and impositions placed on them by the federal government. Then, you would generally see a decline. But you’re real smart. You already knew that...
