Like who??
Heard a Texas college D2 OC (with Texas HS head coaching experience) is one of the finalist. Haven't confirmed, just heard a rumor.
Maybe?

You heard wrong. There is not some pushback. There is a lot of pushback. 🙂
Simply going to promote the DC?
And some mommy's and daddy's didn't think that was a good idea?
Because there were many more qualified candidates........

I agree with you 100% Newton will win district. With the exception that we will have the best QB to ever come through Woodville, it will be the same old song and dance as before.
You definitely have a great QB coming through Woodville, but the question is......
Do you have the coaching staff that knows how to use him, develop him and put an offense in place to take advantage of his skills??
That is yet to be seen.

Any names from this area that we think might go after this job?
Now this is a job that I would really like to see the applicant list.

(I have to add in: problems within the administration would cause them to leave, I've personally seen it in this area few years ago)
Lots of TRUTH to that.
Administration can make even the most LOYAL coach head for the hills.

I think that was a talent issue. Look at the 5 seasons prior to them going back to back 10 win seasons.
Head Coaches do NOT leave schools after back 2 back 10 win seasons if they believe the talent is there to do it for a 3rd time in a row. You better be uber talented at every other position if you are starting a FRESHMAN QB at the 4A level or above. If not, then you are probably not set up for immediate success.

Dayton could NOT have made a better hire.
This could quite possibly take Dayton back to where they were with Stewart, a perennial playoff team with the potential to make a run.
Very impressive after the last few "buddy" hires.

Riordan would be the best of the three, in my opinion.
Don't think Riordan is leaving a potential State Championship team in CH........

District 10
Anahuac
Buna Coldspring-Oakhurst East Chambers Hardin
Kirbyville Orangefield
What 4 make the playoffs? Will it play out as it has in most years with several teams fighting it out for that 4th spot?East Chambers and Coldspring-Oakhurst are the two locks, I would assume.
Anahuac, Kirbyville and Orangefield would be the second wave.
Buna and Hardin would be bringing up the end, if I had to guess.

If it is the name I am hearing, a neighboring city will need to call in the national guard to fill sandbags to keep the tears from flooding half the city!!!!!
I guess things in Crosby are really as bad as some have indicated.....

So lumbertons coach is coach a? Get in and get out so you are not tied to the let up of the next season/s.
Nothing wrong with being Coach A.
Some coaches are bought in to the community they work for. They have a desire to be in that location for the long haul. These coaches develop and work differently that coaches that are on a short term lease situation.

Why did Lumberton's coach leave??? Seems like he was having a bit of success.
2 kinds of successful coaches
A. Get in when the talent is on an up swing, and GET OUT when you can
B. Take a job and BUILD it into something SPECIAL then maintain that level of success by developing talent

You may have candidates flip from Buna to Kirbyville if Buna wants too long
Which job is better?
Buna no AD or Kirbyville with AD
Kirbyville is by far the better job

Whose offensive system would Raider fans want if, theoretically, you could get anyone from the area? I’m sure Lumberton could pay more than most if they really wanted to keep winning… but then again, a coach leaving to make a lateral move shows me that maybe they don’t really care that much. Or the admin/board doesn’t anyway. A lot of industry there to not be able to put $ on what they think matters!
I think you have to continue to spread it out in Lumberton.
Now, do they have some TE/H Back type kids that you can run a power/counter run game?
I don't know, but I think you have to continue some semblance of what they have been doing offensively.

Will they hire within for this job? Seems like what they had going was doing fine.
Very well could, but they are going to have to put in a whole new offensive system.
Reyes ran his system and called the plays.
He was actually hiring an Offensive Coordinator before he left, so I really don't think they have anyone qualified on staff to run the offensive side of the ball.

Lcm is coming home with the golden football
Now that, I can agree with.
Baring injuries to some key components, LCM is the most complete team in this District.
I will be interested to see how they staff is assembled though, losing Breaux may have an impact.

As much as I hate vidor and pray for their downfall, I strongly believe they will have a more solid team than lumberton. Lcm vs vidor for the district championship.
Not disagreeing and not arguing.
Vidor may very well win the District Championship.
JMO and it is biased, I don't think they do.

How will lumberton do against Lcm next year considering lumby is losing a lot of starters and Lcm is returning %85 of their starters
Game will be for the District Championship and it will be very evenly matched, IMHO.
Edit: Depending on who Lumberton hires and who the OC/DC are......

I'm not an authority and I certainly don't know the situation or any of the players involved.
I was just making a guess.
Sure don't know if there are any other more qualified applicants.
In my experience, the on staff candidate is usually the best candidate when the program has had recent success.
Considering Lumberton's history, the parents complaining about the promotion are probably wrong.
