Div 3 you mean lol, doesn’t have any head coaching experience in Texas I heard so that’s a bad rumor

I'm not an authority and I certainly don't know the situation or any of the players involved.

I was just making a guess.

Sure don't know if there are any other more qualified applicants.

In my experience, the on staff candidate is usually the best candidate when the program has had recent success.

Considering Lumberton's history, the parents complaining about the promotion are probably wrong.

I agree with you 100% Newton will win district. With the exception that we will have the best QB to ever come through Woodville, it will be the same old song and dance as before.

You definitely have a great QB coming through Woodville, but the question is......

Do you have the coaching staff that knows how to use him, develop him and put an offense in place to take advantage of his skills??

That is yet to be seen.

I think that was a talent issue. Look at the 5 seasons prior to them going back to back 10 win seasons.

Head Coaches do NOT leave schools after back 2 back 10 win seasons if they believe the talent is there to do it for a 3rd time in a row. You better be uber talented at every other position if you are starting a FRESHMAN QB at the 4A level or above. If not, then you are probably not set up for immediate success.

What 4 make the playoffs? Will it play out as it has in most years with several teams fighting it out for that 4th spot?

East Chambers and Coldspring-Oakhurst are the two locks, I would assume.

Anahuac, Kirbyville and Orangefield would be the second wave.

Buna and Hardin would be bringing up the end, if I had to guess.

So lumbertons coach is coach a? Get in and get out so you are not tied to the let up of the next season/s.

Nothing wrong with being Coach A.

Some coaches are bought in to the community they work for. They have a desire to be in that location for the long haul. These coaches develop and work differently that coaches that are on a short term lease situation.

Whose offensive system would Raider fans want if, theoretically, you could get anyone from the area? I’m sure Lumberton could pay more than most if they really wanted to keep winning… but then again, a coach leaving to make a lateral move shows me that maybe they don’t really care that much. Or the admin/board doesn’t anyway. A lot of industry there to not be able to put $ on what they think matters!

I think you have to continue to spread it out in Lumberton.

Now, do they have some TE/H Back type kids that you can run a power/counter run game?

I don't know, but I think you have to continue some semblance of what they have been doing offensively.

Will they hire within for this job? Seems like what they had going was doing fine.

Very well could, but they are going to have to put in a whole new offensive system.

Reyes ran his system and called the plays.

He was actually hiring an Offensive Coordinator before he left, so I really don't think they have anyone qualified on staff to run the offensive side of the ball.
