Want your feedback on weekly football preview show
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I agree, Gas. The problem is if MNF starts at 7pm, then we will have to start at 5:30 or 6pm to try and get a good show in. The early time is not that good, particularly if we want to get some coaches on the show and some folks are still on the road home from work. Now if they start at 8pm, that would be much better for us. We could start at 6:30 if we wanted an 1 1/2 hour show or 7pm for an hour show. -

Want your feedback on weekly football preview show

Monday nights at Hooters may be a problem. I doubt they would want to give up too large of an area for our little preview show. -
We will be doing our weekly preview show again this year. Gabe and I have narrowed it down to either Monday or Wednesday nights. Tuesday and Thursday is out due to volleyball and freshman and JV games. Which night out of those two do you guys think will work best? We do not know if this will be a call in show yet. We are also looking into doing these shows at some local establishments that way we can get some questions and comments on the show that way. If we do not do a call in show, we will have it set up for you to post your questions and comments on a thread for us to read and answer on air. Please, give us your feedback on which night that you would think would be the best night. Thanks Mike Sanchez

I expect all our local newspapers to put out their guides on Sunday the 23rd, with the Examiner's to follow on the 26th. Maybe someone with a little more insight can let us know, but that's just my guess on withthose publications come out. As for the DCTF mag, I still see copies of them in my local WalMart here in Silsbee.

Silsbee Eye's District Title

I'm not an administrator.... One stud Quarterback does not a team make Look, we all know the history between these two teams. We are "kindly" reminded of it each year. : But I am quite sure that the WOS coaches and players have the upmost respect for Silsbee just based on how the games have gone the last few years. You talk about earning respect, well I believe Silsbee has done that. You don't necessarily have to win to earn respect. As far as this "stud QB" and all the talk that is on here about him, well it just comes with the territory. When you have a caliber of player like Jeremy is, he will get talked about. I remember a lot of talk on here about Deon and Earl, which they both deserved, and nobody had a problem with that, nor should they. Silsbee has a great opportunity to defeat WOS this year. Will they do it? That remains to be seen. All I know is, both teams respect each other greatly and this should be another great game just like the last few have been. History or no History. -

Obviously you don't keep up with the rcruiting services. Jeremy Johnson is the #8 ranked QB in the nation by Scout.com and #9 by Rivals. No other player in Southeast Texas is ranked that high regardless of classification. Actually the two top recruits in this area are both 3A, Johnson and WOS Haynes. -

Silsbee vs Houston Davis week 0 Predictions
AggiesAreWe replied to the sports guy's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Houston Davis went 2 or 3 rounds deep in the 4A playoffs last year, they were good. But, they lost a lot to graduation and will not be as good this year. They will still be a very formidable foe for the Tigers, but Silsbee will take it this year, 35-21. -

I got my first look at my Tigers today. I was impressed. I could make several comments here but I will just sum it up in saying this is the fastest Silsbee team I have seen in quite some time. This is by far the fastest defense that the Tigers have fielded in many years. They remind me of those WOS defenses that swarm to the ball and gang tackle. This should be a very fun year. -
His name is Kelon Archer. He is not playing basketball at the college level that I know of.

Heard about the Kellogg kid a couple of days ago. I am curious as to why he went back? Also, I wonder if he thinks he can comeback and enroll at BC later in the year to play baseball? That will not happen, trust me. As for Jace, I thought this was old news. I thought I had read over at the Orangefield site that he had said he wouldn't play football after last season. Maybe I am confused with the Felts kid who didn't play football last year. If you knew why he came to BC in the first place then you would probably understand why he went back. Okay CJ, tell me why he came to BC in the first place.

He didnt play first half of district in Louisiana actually, he was on the BC JV until his days were done when he could not play. No sir Gabe your wrong go back and look and you will find the kid played the first half of Louisiana baseball season in DeQuincy, then moved over the first of March. UIL states all transfers half to sit 15 calendar days before playing varsity even if approved. And the DEC is made up of the Superintendents of the district not the AD's. If you will view the bold print, Gabe is still correct. He did not play any DISTRICT games in Louisiana. The first of March is only the second week of baseball season in both Louisiana and Texas. District play did not start till end of March.

I doubt it. After doing about 70 broadcasts for this site, I think I have it down. ;D If Silsbee's scrimmage against LCM on the 21st was in Silsbee and it was a game type scrimmage, I might consider it. But it's in LCM and last year they only played about a quarter and a half of live game.
