  1. Like you're the expert on recruiting in this area. :
  2. According to Rivals. Scout.com has Jeremy rated higher than Brunetti. Also, according to WV websites, Brunetti looks to be moving to a different position if he comes to WV. My info about Texas offering came from the Johnson family, I'll take their word. Rivals is the only recruiting service that has Brunetti rated higher. :
  3. Beating WOS has nothing to do with Jeremy Johnson's recruiting. Colleges could careless. The only thing it would make good for would be us Silsbee folk. ;D
  4. Silsbee only lost 1 starter, Kelly. He was the only senior on the team. They also had no juniors on the team, just soph. and fresh.
  5. That's not what I was told by a very reliable source.
  6. I agree, stang4life. I would love to be able to drive to see JJ play. But, it's his decision and I will be happy for him where ever he goes. I really see great things coming to this young man.
  7. It will be interesting to see if JJ sticks with WV. I think he will but the Mountaineers also got a verbal from another top dual threat QB. One recruiting service has JJ rated higher but another has the other guy rated higher. I did read on a West Virginia sports site that the other QB recruit will probably be converted to another position.
  8. Even though Silsbee blue chip QB Jeremy Johnson has verbally committed to West Virginia, he is still getting offers. Here is a list of the schools that have offered scholarships to Jeremy: West Virginia, Michigan, Kentucky, Baylor, Houston, Arkansas, Iowa St., Missouri, TCU, Arizona, Vanderbilt, Southern Mississippi, Purdue, Illinois, Kansas St., Tulsa, SMU, Utah, Lamar, Sam Houston and ETBU for the quarterback position. Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M for receiver/defensive back. He turned down recruiting visits to LSU, Florida, UCLA, Oregon and Miami because of their current quarterback situation. Jeremy is also being recruited by Kentucky and Texas for track. Jeremy is currently rated the top prospect in the Southeast Texas area by Scout.com. He is rated the # 2 quarterback in the state, #9 in the nation and the #120 overall in the nation, regardless of position. Rivals.com has him #9 rated Dual Threat QB in the nation, #2 in state. He is the only consensus 4 star recruit in the Southeast Texas area, by both recruiting services. Our area does not have a 5 star recruit like Michaels was last year. Jeremy just came back from the Nike All American camp in Austin, a special invitation only camp. He did very well and it looks real good for Jeremy to get an invite to play in the All American game next year. I'll know something more later in the season. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
  9. The 17th is the Thursday practice round, shrimp boil and calcutta. The practice round starts at noon and there is a $20 skins game and we give away two watches for low gross round and low net round on that day. This years skins pot was $1000 with 4 skins good making them worth $250 apiece. The shrimp boil starts at 5:45 pm and the calcutta starts around 8pm.
  10. In the 8th grade, we had a defensive tackle that was, let's say, more wide than tall. He always had difficulty keeping his pants up. Once in a game against Hebert, he was at the bottom of a pile and when he was getting up off the ground his pants were around his ankles with his backside pointing straight to the Hebert side of the stadium. Those fans were rolling in the aisles with laughter after getting that big moon shot. Needless to say, that was his last play of that game, his belt broke.
  11. Good to see Silsbee's Mark Henry back on Raw.
  12. I would rather see the bra and panties matches. Just make sure you recruit the local strip clubs and Hooters for your wrestlers. ;D
  13. With a $1000 PSL attached.
  14. Why would you think it would be crowded Friday morning? Better not get with T.C., he'll just talk you into mowing. ;D
  15. I agree. I don't think it was thought of any other way. I am just curious how Thompson was "misquoted". Thompson was saying to only place he will play on defense is at defensive backfield no other position on defense. Uh, that's not what this quote says, As a junior, he was a first-team all-District 21-3A wide receiver and second-team defensive back. He will only play in the defensive backfield this season, WO-S defensive coordinator Cornell Thompson said
  16. It's always Father's Day weekend, whatever dates that is. Lazeek, you knew this before you booked that condo. : Just another excuse. The actual dates are June 17, 18, 19, 20.
  17. You guys need to come up to Silsbee and play. It is open to the public Tues. thru Sun. and our greens are as good as anyone's in the area. Give me a hollar when you are coming.
  18. I agree. I don't think it was thought of any other way. I am just curious how Thompson was "misquoted".
  19. MMSLB, I gather that AJ25 has some personal animosity towards Sherman. I am guessing it has something to do with A&M spurning a certain Lumberton player.
  20. You're kidding, right? Are you trying to say that they only play the games just to entertain fans? Give me a break. : The game is for the kids and coaches. They would play them without fans, trust me. Having fans attend the games is just icing on the cake. You can have cake with no icing, it's just not as sweet. But, the cake is the important ingredient, not the icing. Of course unless you are a 5 year old. :
  21. Thank you, nuff said.
  22. Just how do you need fans to make a team? Isn't a team formed before there are any fans?
  23. I thought Hooks was the head guy? Doesn't everything go through him? :
  24. I totally agree. But they are not the difference between winning and losing. That is the point I have been trying to make but some folks just don't get it. :
