So this game is tonight Saturday September 3 in Vidor? And is it worth driving an hour from Liberty lol?
Well, if you can get the CW Channel 10 on your cable, just stay at home and watch it on the TV. Or you can watch the game on KFDM.com.

Maple inherited a bad situation last year coming in at the end of June after the sudden un-wanted departure of the then Head Coach Ricky Tullos and his staff. You can’t judge a program on one year of hardships. After struggling last year I look for Cleveland to rise back up and be a very competitive football team, they are young but very talented. Cleveland has good kids and a good coaching staff. Look for them to get back into the playoffs. 2007 4-7 (4-1) 2008 10-1 (5-0) 2009 10-2 (5-0) 2010 2-8 (2-4) 2011 ??? Good Luck Clayton
Maples has turned this team around this year, this is not the same team as last year, I guarantee no one team including Coldsprings will run threw Cleveland like everyone is thinking, not only does this team have big talent this year you also have a group of kids whom has grown up together and can read what the other one is thinking, they arent playing as individuals anymore there playing as a team finally, that is something we lacked in the last 2 years, and I promise it makes a HUGE difference come game time. Coldsprings probably will take first but I promise Cleveland will be right behind them.... Good luck to all of our teams in district play..
I know of "one team" who just ran through Cleveland to a sum of 321 yards rushing, 453 total yards, limiting Cleveland to just 173 total yards and beating them 42-14. ;D
It was 3rd and 5 in the first over time and wos lined up for a fg. The only reason I could think of they did it is because they wanted to keep the ball in the middle of the field and not have to kick from the left or right of the field. Bad call imo especially when you have a back like Lindsey on your team.
I see. Also, sometimes you try a FG on 3rd down just so that if you have a bad snap or hold, if you do not get the kick off, you have another down to try.
Cleveland fans have officially left the forum! Silsbee will get another test next week against a good Lumberton team. Over the last 10 years, Lumberton has matched up well vs the Tigers.
Correction, average Lumberton team.

Okay, someone who is not on the bottle (skip) please explain what really happened with this kicking on 3rd down thing.

Silsbee vs Cleveland Predictions
AggiesAreWe replied to CATS80's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Indian Fan, don't waste your time on this fool, we will let this him eat a little crow Friday night when there isnt any blow out!!!!! These boys will put them back in there place come Friday night.. ;)
Care to recant? ;D -
Silsbee dominated the 2nd half particularly the 3rd quarter. After out gaining Cleveland 187-98 in the first half, but only coming away with a 14-14 halftime score, Silsbee came out in the 3rd quarter and just simply dominated on both sides of the ball. The Tiger defense forced Cleveland into three 3 and outs in their first three offensive series, netting the Indians only 3 total yards in that 3rd quarter. Silsbee's offense did their part scoring 3 times, gaining 123 yards in offense, turning the halftime tie to a 35-14 Silsbee lead after 3. Silsbee out gained Cleveland in the 2nd half 266-75. For the game, Silsbee ended with a total of 453 yards of offense (a whopping 322 yards rushing!) to Cleveland's 173. Silsbee's defense kept Clevelands star RB Franks bottled up all night, limiting him to just 52 yards on 18 carries (just a 2.88 yd per carry). The Tiger defense also did a number on Cleveland's QB Buckley, putting pressure on him constantly, forcing him out of the pocket and making several bad throws, picking him off twice. Buckley finished just 9-27 (35%), 99 yards and the two picks. Other than one blown coverage and a few missed tackles, Silsbee's defense shined last night. Silsbee's offense did well, particularly the ground game. Can't remember how long it's been since a Tiger offense has rushed for over 300 yards in a game. AWESOME!!! RB Floyd Spearman and QB Patrick Reed, Silsbee's two soph. stars, combined for 241 yards rushing and 2 TD''s. Throw in Sr. WR Darrien Turk's 60 yards and 3 TD's, made it a banner night for the Tiger ground game! Also, Reed did okay in the pass game, hitting on 50% of his passes (9-18) for 131 yards and a TD, with his main go to guy being Sr. WR Kelton Gaines, who had 4 catches for 73 yards and a TD. He did throw one interception(his first of the season) when the Tigers had a 2nd and goal from the Indian 8. Patrick made some better decisions tonight compared to last week, but still has some work to do. Sore spot, PENALTIES!!! Silsbee had 9 last night, giving them a total of 20 now in the first 2 games. Not good. That has to improve over the next couple of weeks. All in all, a very good win for the Tigers, increasing their domination over Cleveland, making the all time series now 26-5-2 in favor of Silsbee.
I would say that the Tigers did a better job last night. First half they had to get acclimated to the speed of the game. Once they did ...off to the races. It was good to see how Reed did. He checked down on a couple of passes that needed to be checked on and ran the ball hard. Couple of bad throws, but really cant say anything about them because of the growth that he had. Good job Reed. When Silsbees receivers get the ball....better watch out. They can move! This is a talented group. Only one bad mistake by the "D". Once they got used to the speed of the game it was lights out. I like the pressure...hope the Tigers do even more. Saw a few Horns come out......on both sides of the ball. ;) Stop the penalties "you undisciplined pigs"! ;D Montana prayers have been said. Update? Man that kid can play. Good young man.
Don't forget Floyd!! Floyd Spearman had a great game, 13 carries, 160 yards, 2 TD's, capping the night off with that sensational 89 yard TD run!

High Island vs. Colmesneil Game Thread/Colmesneil wins!
AggiesAreWe replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Colmesneil wins big!! I was told tonight that High Island finished this game with just a total of 10 players!!! This is not good. looks as though they may find themselves in the same situation that Chester was in a couple of years ago when they had to cancel the last half of their season due to not having enough players. 10 players!!!! You can't even play 6-man ball with 10 players. -
I wish Lamar the best of luck against Tecas College(not that they need it), but I hope Woodard has more class than Harper at SFA had last night...
I totally agree!! 82-6! Passed the ball 63 times last night (several in the 4th quarter after leading 68-6 at end of 3rd), went for 2 five times (3 of those attempts were after SFA was already leading 25-0). Even though the 2nd team and some 3rd teams played half the 3rd and all the 4th, it was obvious Harper was looking to score as many as he could against a very outmanned McMurray team. Let's hope Woodard has a little more class than that.
