Well, 2 of our coverage area teams (Kirbyville and Shelbyville) have canceled their games this week because of COVID.

Agreed. With how things are, this high school season will be week to week.

But to be honest, I don't see the Hawks playing football at that time. Silsbee most likely will be.

I 1000% agree. That game, even though a non-district game, was pretty important and based on how it was played, would of been interesting to see the final outcome.

Hardin-Jefferson schedule [Hidden Content] Open with Barbers Hill, followed by Silsbee and then Lufkin. All home games. Play at Nederland on 11/24, followed by at Beaumont United and then home against PA Memorial. Then on 12/10, 12/11 and 12/12, games at Tatum, Bullard and Longview.

Won't have to wait that long. Silsbee play's HJ on November 17 at HJ.

Series breakdown between these two teams: Started playing each other in 1978 (Silsbee won 42-0) Silsbee won the first 6 meetings and 15 of the first 16 games played. Lumberton got their first win in the series in 1984 (22-19). Silsbee then reeled off 9 consecutive wins Since 2000, the series is in favor of Lumberton, 6-5. Raiders won the first 6 games played since 2000 but Silsbee is now currently on a 5 game win streak in the series. Silsbee leads the all-time series 20-7.

I'm just relaying what Stepp told me. I was at the game and also watched the game film. Both coaches agreed that not enough of game was played to determine a winner. Our rankings shows Jasper ahead of Silsbee. I ranked Jasper ahead of Silsbee this week. Thought they were the better team. But no one got the win.

Matt Stepp told me that he changed the records for both teams to reflect the game being ruled a no contest but the rankings would have to remain as is. Rankings were submitted on Sunday before they were informed of the ruling. He did tell me that had they known of the ruling before the rankings would not have came out this way.

I was told Huffman turned down Jasper.
