Nope we haven't forgotten, but this ain't the same team. We're healthier than we've been all year and offensively we've really been playing well as of late.

How can we forget.... Yes Woodville beat OF 41-7.

    Yes, Liberty beat Woodville

That's why the game is being played.  Both of these teams are not the same teams from 3 weeks ago.

Liberty will be tough for Orangefield to beat this week, but I believe if we can eat some clock and hold on to the ball we have a chance.

I just don't see how HF can beat Orangefield. I know they have a new coach, but they've never been able to stop our offense. Even though they beat us last year, they had to out score us to do so. So I just don't see that happening.

HJ and OF should be a battle, I believe both teams are very similar and either one could come out on top. Common opponents in LCM and Buna were early games in the year.

    HJ 40 Buna 25....OF 45 Buna 0

    HJ 20 LCM 40.... OF 42 LCM 43 OT

Both teams have improved since then and are relatively healthy as can be this time of the year. It'll be a fun game to watch!!!

Did you copy and paste my post.  LOL.  I said the same exact thing.

I know Orangefield is always fairly disciplined and they have beat us two years in a row, . I don't underestimate them but I do predict a Liberty win. I can't imagine if they lost 41-7 to a team we beat that they could somehow beat us, that wasn't last year that was a couple of weeks ago , that alone has me thinking this should be a panther win but of course common opponents don't always tell you exactly what the outcome will be.

That game OF lost 41-7 was a very bad outing for us.  No excuses, we lost and earned that lost.  However, over the last 3 weeks OF has made some improvements and are not the same team that lost by 34 points.  I think everyone of our 2 way starters are 100% healthy for the first time.

Granted, I'm sure Liberty isn't the same team from a month ago.

With that said, OF needs to make sure they don't fumble the ball to keep the game within reach.

But I still think this year's game will be an uphill battle for OF against Liberty.

Well I've been debating on whether not to comment or not cause I trust our coaching staff and believe in what they're doing, but when your best running back only touches the ball one time in the first half and only 6 times total, something is wrong with this picture. I believe his stat line was something like 6 carries for 75 yards. I'm not coach bashing, but how does this happen? I'm sure Kirbyville had game planned to stop McGee, and they stacked the line and brought the house most of the night, but we see that every week in this offense. Just really didn't understand why he didn't get more touches.

Also we're still very vanilla right now on offense, probably didn't run more than 5 different plays the other night, we just ran them to both sides of the field.

With all that said Kirbyville definitely had the speed advantage and deserved to win the game. We had our opportunities, fumbled inside the 30 yard line after a long drive and missed a field goal as well.

Haven't seen Woodville but judging by their scores the last two weeks our defense is gonna have to step up and get some stops. Again I think we'll move the ball but like last week we have to score on these long drives and we have to stop the big play.

    Orangefield 21

    Woodville 20

in agreement concerning McGee and didn't 1/2 those 75 yards come on the last drive on a single run??

It's very very difficult for the OL to pick up their blocking assignments with an ever changing DL lineup and blitz package. All it takes is one missed blocking assignment.... and a tackle for a lost and that can't happen with the Wing-T.

But if they blitz and we get the ball across the line, then TD or a long run is guaranteed

I think so too. I'm sure they had plenty of things to improve on this week. That's how it should be....improve each week.

    WILDCATS 29-23

I think that's too many points for your Wildcats.. OF Defense is much improved from over the years.  They have several on Defense, Soph and Jr, with varsity experience and several more Sr's with 3+ on varsity....

Both Bobcats running backs are pretty fast (relative to OF) so The Wing-T should be about to have the ball for 40 mins of the game... OF with the field goal unit could put points on the board with each possession.

BUT... if the Wildcats QB can pass.... then OF may struggle....  I say, if your QB has a good passing game, then Wildcats win.

  6. Wondering if this weather will hold out.  A muddy field may slow down the Wildcats, Bobcat defense will be tested even with a soggy field at minimal.  How they do on Friday might indicate some abilities for the games week 3 and week 6.  Bobcats offense will be tested this time, I never saw a school (Buna) that ran a 4/4 on the Wing-T... Buna picked the wrong  defense for this offense.  I don't think Kville will be using a 4/4 on OF this week..... Though I hope so.  OF by 3 with a winning 45+ yard field goal by the iron leg Rainey kid.

  7. If we compare both to Last Year QB (You don't know how good he was until he's not there), Both QB's needs some work.  In this offense Kress is obvious choice, much quicker and faster.  Gonzales too big for the Wing-T but can throw.  Up to the coach to use the talent where it best benefits the team and program. Even with a new OC, OF is sold out to the Wing-T.  Good Chance OF can come in 2nd in district this year.  High expectations for the 2016 Bobcats.
