There is a monatary benefit for the hosting school.

The hosting school profits from the money from the concession stand revenue which is well worth the work.

OF hosted last week 1st Round and made enough for much need supplies and equipment that the league needed and it was only 15 game.

PNG will host 20 games and I'm sure its worth the work for the entire league.

Multiple schools put their name in the hat every year for every round. And it's voted on, not "given". Because every league knows the fundraiser potential.

As far as the STJFL President running the show, we All have equal say in what goes on.
Thank You!

What a bunch of cry babies........sounds like a bunch of High School girls gossiping about boys  ::)

Very few understand the logistic in pulling off something as complicated as the playoffs.

If one little thing goes wrong it's always "a huge" deal and they have it out for "my league or my team" mine... Mine... Mine.... instead saying "hey, stuff happens". Let move on and think to ourself , I'm glad my kids has a place to play some sports somewhere safe.

Fixed spelling so I won't get laughed at.

I absolutely understand and appreciate all the work that goes in to setting up a weekend like this.  I know it is a scheduling nightmare so thanks for all your hard work.  Bleachers are bleachers and the better teams will win no matter where they are asked to sit, I think my issue was more about the attitude of Lumberton fans and then bragging about having "home field refs".  Do we really have refs from a certain town allowed to work that teams games?
I can promise that the Ref's are scheduled by a representive of the local Referee chapter and he schedule to the best of his abilities that no "hometown" ref are used for any games.

But these Ref call a straight game as possible no matter where they are from.

I think most people like to talk "bull" just to get under your skin.

As long as I'm involved with STJFL I'll do my best to make sure everything is a fair as possible and I know from the President to the other 8 other board member, we try to be a fair as possible knowing it may never be perceived that way.

    Thanks.

Lumberton lost before the game ever started. They were lucky that Bmt wanted to play and not win on a forfeit because someone forgot their team's player cards. Got the whole story if anyone wants to know...
Was Bmt given that option or did someone make them play and told them the MPR will be there at halftime? I think the only punishment this yr was given to Bmt B because they scored 75 points. And there is No rule that say you can't score 75 points. The game should have been played but Bmt should have advanced
Once again Gucci, your showing you ignorance.... How many times do we have to tell you.

BMT was not punished for scoring 75.

BMT PW broke a rule by putting in a starter after they where up by more than 28.

I'm going to copy and paste this so I won't have to retype it when you bring it up when you 8 yr old turns 30.
So did Ned B. But that thread got deleted. Lum Srs should not be advancing. But i blame Bmt for not standing up for their teams. Bmt is Stjfl you know what
Give your association STJFL council member your proof about another team not pulling their starter  after 28 points and lets see if STJFL treats everyone the same.

    That would be my suggestion.

Sounds identical to Bmt B peewee situation a few weeks ago and their head coaches got suspended for 2 weeks. Hope stjfl steps in on this one too. It would be bad press for them to punish one team while letting another slide.
Fact.........

BMT's PW situation involved having a starter handle the ball after reaching a point spread of 28. A rules violation cause the punishment.

If you reply to this then you are proving how much you really know.

hvac_setx since u are so interested & tired of the subject of ned. sr. team that you put your 2 cents in on every comment,we are having a "team complaint" meeting today at 5:15pm at bulldog stadium parking lot.please attend becuz i think your input & knowledge would help all of us other non-coaches understand what the real coaches are doing?

Hey kf89, if you can get "Keith Stone" to come with hvac, let me know. I'd love to come to your meeting.

Just want to thank the fans, players and coaches of OF. We had 4 great games, from Flag to Seniors. The scores didn't reflect the games, all of the games were well played and fought hard. Thanks for a good day of Football.
We feel the same. I can't wait till we play again in a few weeks. It should be a really good game.

Sorry we didnt get a chance to clean up after the down pour came.

What I noticed, was even after hard hit after hard it, both teams would help each other up. Says a lot about the kids and the coaches.

    Thank you.

I can't wait until some of these kids who were the "recipient" of daddy-ball in LL get up to the high school level and can't figure out why on earth they're sitting the bench since they started their whole lives.

Buna... It did offended me cause I have not bashed any organization on here or anywhere else.

Most imporyantly I'm impressed that you said your sorry and I honestly accept your apology.

Now let's move on and solve another of the Worlds Problems on here!!!

    ;D ;D
  13. Bunabase wasn't really looking for umpires. He was sneaking around trying to find out who screen names for people and he's gone me confused with 2son.

So immature and so so little life to send out random email trying to find out who coaches a 11 yr team. LOSER!!!!!!!  LOL.

I'm not bashing anyone on here, but how about just playing baseball. Who cares if a kid 9 is playing with 8's or all of these other issues. I know it's breaking rules, but in the grand scheme of things just play baseball. Too many people getting caught up in all of the other stuff. When I was contacted by both organizations, I told them my kids just want to play baseball. I don't care about USSSA or Nations. For me and my team, as long as the kids are having fun and getting better, that's all I care about. With that said, when I seen the open tournament for this past weekend, I felt that my team wasn't ready to play other teams two levels above them and pulled my team out weeks ago. Good luck to everyone this baseball season!
WOW!!!!!!

You don't care that an 9 yr old plays against an 8 yr old team, I had to pick myself off the Floor. Yea, let's not get all caught up on the "Rules", rules are for whimps.

But, that kind of additude is expected from you after your "strategic Drafting" comments.

Each time you comment I see a little piece of your heart.

Can't wait to play your Team...... I'll make sure and add a 12 yr old to pitch against you since you don't care about the rules and just want your son to play ball..........

  15. Strategic Drafting is Code word for reverse stacking. And Sir, stacking is illegal.

So if your doing it for the kids, then PNG is stacking teams by their own admissions and therefore should be handed like it was when PA was caught stacking their team.

Let's be fair and do it for the kids, and remove PNG from STJFL.

I'm only saying this cause I care for ALL kids not just the ones that are on my son's team.

  16. You know what IceWater.....

In my heart your on the mark. But I'm just waiting on all those to jump on the bandwagon and agree with you but then turn right around and strateically draft all the young kids this year and go winless for the great hope to be like IceWater and have a Superbowl trophy collecting dust the following year. My kids haven't won a football game in 2 years because thier coach haven't had the option to strategically draft.

How do you think a kids feels when they go 0-8. Ask my kids. But at least that PNG coach can tell them, Son, We have to pay our dues for Coach to get his next year, toughen up kid!

Wrong...thats not always the case...alot of coaches kids may pitch, but alot catch too, including mine....as far as select ruining baseball, IMO it makes "some" little leagues stronger, and the competition better if the scheduling is set up, so the kids can play both, my kids currently play at BCLL,and play select baseball, and softball. BCLL does a great job of scheduling games during the week,so that it doesn't clash with weekend tourneys...we did play at another LL in Orange County that didn't care to make it work, and have lost alot of good players because of it. Select or league?....IMO it boils down to the kid,and how serious they are about the game, and at the end of the day its our job as parents to recognize if we're putting them in a position to be successful,or burning them out....But in some cases, I think Little league is ruining Little league

I don't know what is causing it, but go ask the orthopedic docs around here and they will tell you that they are seeing more serious arm injuries in young kids than ever before.
Pitching is an unnatural act. You are going to have injuries regardless of what you do. Almost everyone who has played baseball for a significant amount of time is going to have shoulder damage.

Now I would say the increase of army injures among children is due to a couple of different things. One is they simply don't rest or recover properly. Its fine if you want to play 80+ games a year, but you can't have your star pitcher start a game and then go out and play a position. You have to give your arm time to recover. Two would be throwing breaking pitches wrong. If you don't throw sliders or curveballs properly you are going to get injured. Third would be the pitchers body is just not conditioned enough. Core and leg work are important, but by strengthening the small muscles in the shoulder with workouts you can do at home you will greatly reduce the risk of injury.
When I played, the only people having Tommy John surgery were professional players.  Now its common place for kids as young as 13 to get the surgery.  The amount of arm injuries now is ridiculous compared to just 10 or 15 years ago.  I guess that has nothing to do with increased workload.  ::)

I was a catcher my whole life and have had 3 knee surgeries because of it.  I also have a problem with a kid catching 6 or 7 games in a weekend.  That happens a lot in select especially at younger ages.  Everyone counts pitches but most don't realize the wear and tear on a catchers knees.

I'm not trying to bash select or say it is bad to play that many games at a young age.  My whole point is to protect your kids.  Your kids future isn't worth some trophy.  Hopefully, your kids coaches are great and are concerned with their health first and foremost.  Just be careful.
I have been around alot of youth baseball for the last 7 years and I have not heard of 1 case of a 13 year old having Tommy John surgery.  To say that it is common is just plain unresponsible and untrue.
As my kids would say.... You got served. LOL.
