Sam's sexual orientation is not even in the same class as not being allowed to play because of race. He is not the first gay football player and as far as first openly gay football player, who cares. I don't want to know, the other draft picks didn't announce that they were straight. If he's gay, he's gay, no need to tell the world, quit making such a big deal about your personal life. My beliefs don't agree with it nor do I chastise him for it, I'm just sick of having it shoved in my face everywhere you turn.

BUT....if we ban Knives, cut off everone's hands and feet(678 murders in 2012), blunt objects, other objects used as weapons, we could prevent 3,757 deaths and decrease crime by 29.44%

The ISDs and states can handle the education of their kids just fine without any interference from the fed gov.

I agree with that....one is better than none.
 
Though it is a minority, but I would say that btw 4 and 8 people would carry one on each campus in BMT ISD......and I bet that number would go up for the surrounding school districts.  And I say that because I am very well connected to most schools in the BMT ISD as well as the surrounding schools.
 
I also believe that someone in the front office should carry one. 

Even a couple per campus could greatly reduce the amount of casualties in a mass shooting situation. I agree with you that a minority of teachers would want to. But even one could make a huge difference.

I have no way to verify the actual numbers this article claims, but it's common sense stuff.  The more responders you have, and the quicker their response, the less casualties you will take.  I wish that every school had at least an officer, and i wholeheartedly support schools having teachers who carry as well, assuming that they complete a training far more stringent than what it takes to obtain a CHL.  My mom is a teacher and has her CHL, and i wouldn't be particularly comfortable with her shooting at anything even remotely near my general direction (sorry mom).  but give teachers extensive training in shooting, target acquisition, situational training, etc., and i'm all for them being able to carry.

I believe the free market will deal with this guy...even when the league wouldn't.

Here's a question: How is it that Mr Sterling has been discriminating against minorities for years and the NAACP was in the process of giving him a lifetime award? Minorities are unwelcome at his apartment complexes, but now the NAACP in the LA area wants to cry FOUL.  The NBA & NAACP are no better than Mr Sterling. He's All about money & so are they. Now that your image has taken a Hit you want to play the Victim. How many kickbacks has Sterling given the LA area urban league or NAACP. Someone benefited. As for Magic johnson, he was once a Minority owner of the Lakers for a short time, why didn't he expose Sterling then. Michael Jordan has been a majority owner for a time as well, why all of a sudden he has a problem. Sterling is as wrong as 2 left shoes, but let's be REAL; nobody really said a whole lot the 30 yrs he's been an Owner. Let's not cry Foul now. Many former & current players have said these things about this man, even the NBA has known for years.  Honestly, I'm as confused as Sterling is about this.  What's the FUSS!!!  If it wasn't important then, why so important NOW.  I would have Run him & his wife off long AGO. Too many Watered down Activist nowadays.
